Author's Note:

Here's a neat fact for the day and sort of a hint for Gen 9. Starting from Gen 6, in the following gens, every Pokemon Japanese Logo hints at the mechanic that will exist in that game before it comes out.

X and Y had Mega Evolution, Sun and Moon had Z-Crystals and Sword and Shield had Dynamax Bands

So whatever that crystal is at the Scarlet and Violet title is very important.

Equestria. Baltimare. Contest Hall. Afternoon.

The semi-finals of the Baltimare Pokemon Contest had arrived. The last two coordinators had finished the battle stage with one of them emerging victorious. Now the semi-finals were up next. And for the first round of the semi-finals, it would be Sweetie Belle against Jessie. Or Jesselle as her disguise.

Jessie, who had previously lost to Sweetie Belle once in the past and was unable to get another chance, finally had that chance at last. This would be their second time battling in a Pokemon Contest.

"Oh..." Sweetie Belle yawned before laying her head on the couch, feeling a bit tired. However, she was soon kept once Plusle and Minun gave her a jolt. "Ghagaahaa!" She screeched once the two Electric-Types restarted her energy, bringing her back up to speed. "T-Thanks you two..."

"Plusle!"

"Minun!"

"Look at her..." Jessie sat far from Sweetie Belle, gazing at her while eating a sandwich furiously. All it took was one comment from Sweetie Belle and that mutual respect that Jessie had for her had been overpowered. "Don't be so confident, twerpette. I've been watching you carefully. Not just in contests. I've got years of experience above you to boot..."

"Let's make it a great one, Jesselle!" Breaking Jessie's monologue was Sweetie Belle once she raised her hoof, startling the Team Rocket Grunt.

"Mm!" Jessie stood up. "Y-You too, my little pony. But don't get emotional when my Pokemon embarrass you, okay?" She grinned before holding her hand out to Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle promptly put her hoof out, causing Jessie to shake it. It looked friendly at first until Jessie started monologuing in her head. "Just you wait...It'll be a great one for me."

"Right. And uh, sorry for what I said back there." Sweetie Belle scrunched her face before nervously rubbing the back of her hair. "I didn't know it would get you so riled up."

"Huh?" Jessie's monologuing ended once more as she took a moment to listen to Sweetie Belle. But Sweetie Belle kept it short instead of long.

"Sorry about that."

"R-Right...!" Jessie then trembled, accidentally gripping Sweetie Belle's hoof a bit too hard. "Curses! She's adorable! I can't stay mad at that." She fund Sweetie Belle's apology to quick alter her opinion. "Don't worry about it! It's all in the past. Hohohoho!"

"That's good to hear." Sweetie Belle felt satisfied and relieved upon hearing that. Soon, it was their turn to enter the stage once Marian called for them. Soon, they made their way towards the stage, ready to get past the semi-finals and for either to get to the finals.

Diamond Tiara, who had lost to Premium Polish previously, was sitting next to Ash and the others as all she could do was watch and learn now. "I wouldn't have made it that far anyway...I've got only two Pokemon to work with."

"Two? I thought you caught multiple?" Silver Spoon questioned.

"Yeah, but one of them learned how to pull off contests moves quickly. I'm still working on the others."

"Okay! Now for the first round of the semi-finals! To my right, it's Sweetie Belle and to my left, it's Jesselle! Both of you, send out your Pokemon!"

"This time, it'll be you, Piplup!" Sweetie Belle's choice for this round was the Penguin Pokemon Piplup. He had entered the fray with bubbles flowing out of his Poke Ball.

"Piplup!"

"One of my Oricorio can deal with you!" One of the two Oricorio had been sent out. This time, the Sensu Style Oricorio made its second debut, appearing before Piplup.

"Oricorio!"

"Darn. I was hoping she would've gone for that other Oricorio." Sweetie Belle said to herself. She referred to the Baile Style Oricorio that was weak to Fire, hence her choice to send out Piplup. But that wasn't the case right now. However, she would have to work with this either way.

"5 minutes on the clock, girls! Begin!"

"Oricorio, use Agility into Revelation Dance!"

"Corio! Ori...!" Oricorio then began building up speed. And at the same time, using its signature move Revelation Dance. And since it was a Ghost-Type, the result was a light purple spectral aura the same colour as its feathers, popping out. Oricorion performed hyperfast dance moves while enveloping herself in this spectral aura.

Much like before, this form of Oricorio left afterimages as its speed had been increased. And these afterimages would carry that same aura as well, taking points off of Sweetie Belle's side. Sweetie Belle had to act fast as Oricorio was also approaching Piplup with Revelation Dance.

"Here goes! Piplup, use Drill Peck! Make sure you let it touch that creepy aura!"

"Pip! Piplup!" Piplup's beak had been put to use. First, gaining a shining glow while also extending just a bit. And much like a drill, his beak started spinning. The Penguin Pokemon advanced, approaching the dancing Sensu Style Oricorio. "Lup!"

"Hm-hm! You know what to do, Oricorio!"

Piplup's goal was to have his beak touch the aura as he leapt into the air, only for Oricorio to say otherwise as its stylish and agile movements, especially boosted with Agility, caused it to perform a low-limbo pose, ducking underneath Piplup when he had leapt. The aura came with it as well, putting a rut in that plan. "Ori!"

"Pip?!" Piplup gasped before witnessing Oricorio perform an instant backflip into the air after its initial limbo pose. That backflip then allowed Oricorio to not just gain some air time for more style points, but it had also stepped on Piplup's back with a surprisingly hard impact. "Lup!"

"Piplup!" Sweetie Belle gasped as Piplup was forced to the floor by this attack to the back. Oricorio was also stepping on him to add insult to injury."

"Now twirl and twirl, okay?!" Jessie winked.

"Corio!" Oricorio's Revelation Dance landed successfully as what followed next was Oricorio performing a spinning dance right on top of Piplup. And by doing so, the spectral aura had rotated, forming the shape of one of those swirly ice cream cones.

"Oricorio's not just spinning Piplup and using it as a podium for its dancing, but all that spinning's made something similar t an ice cream cone! Now I'm hungry! I should've eaten during the break!" Marian commented.

"Spin us, will you? Let's return the favour, Piplup! Drill Peck!"

"Pip...Piplup!" Piplup was ready to do his own take on spinning. And as the spectral aura was beating on his body each time he rotated, Piplup used his already glowing beak, slamming it through the floor at full force. And with his beak pinned to the floor, Piplup made it spin manually. And this spinning prompted his entire body to spin.

"Ori?" And because of this, Oricorio's dancing had been interrupted. It had wobbled with its balance being thrown off guard as Piplup's spinning managed to replace the Dancing Pokemon's spinning. Oricorio was now being the one rotated as Piplup gathered some of the spectral aura, much like how he aimed to do the beginning. "C-Corio!"

Oricorio was launched into the air by Piplup's spinning. Oricorio quickly recovered due to still being a Flying-Type, landing gracefully on the floor. However, with Revelation Dance ending, Piplup used the remainder of it as once he stood up, the spectral aura of Revelation Dance was now on his beak. "Lup!"

"Look at that! Piplup's taken the aura of Revelation Dance and kept it for himself! All that spinning paid off even if it was making me dizzy!"

"Nice one, Sweetie Belle! Piplup!" Ash cheered.

"Pikachu!"

"Since Piplup has that spectral aura around his beak, that would allow him to deal some super-effective damage to that form of Oricorio," said Twilight. "If that was Sweetie Belle's approach in the first place, then wow!"

"Of course, it was! Only my little sister would pull off such a trick!" Rarity bellowed as she hugged Rainbow Dash with great vigour whilst cheering her sister on. "Go, Sweetie Belle!"

"I-I can't breathe...!" Rainbow Dash gasped before air, hitting Rarity's head to try and gain some freedom of space.

"Get a load of this! Bubble Beam!"

"Pip...Lup-Lup-Lup-Lup!" And Piplup would certainly utilize this aura. He wouldn't let it go to waste. He opened his beak, sending out an array of bubbles. And with great unity, those bubbles had gained some of the spectral aura that surrounded them. These Spectral Bubbles were also sent into the air with some of them approaching Oricorio.

"They look like floating souls, don't they? Piplup's made that spectral aura from Revelation Dance its own with all those bubbles being protected by them! Look at the way they give off a reflection!"

"As if we're letting that hit us! Dance your way through it all and use Sky Attack!"

"Corio!" Along came Oricorio. Rushing through the floor and summoning the majestic golden aura of Sky Attack, the targets were the spectral bubbles. Oricorio knew that being hit by them would result in super-effective damage.

And upon rushing in, it had not just used the aura of Sky Attack as protection, but also a means to jump on the bubbles. Which is what it did. Bouncing on the bubbles and using them as a means to travel higher, Oricorio danced gracefully whilst moving from bubble to bubble, earning it some more style points.

"No way!" Sweetie Belle was aghast as everyone admired Oricorio dancing on the bubbles. "Okay then! Piplup! Hit them with Aerial Ace!"

"Piplup!" Some improvisation was due. Piplup had also approached his bubbles, lighting his arms with a shining light. Piplup had then struck the spectral bubbles, launching them in Oricorio's direction.

"As if! Kick them back!"

"Corio!" Oricorio had then reversed it on Piplup, using the aura of Sky Attack and its powerful legs to kick the spectral bubbles back.

"Yikes! D-Do the same, Piplup!" Sweetie Belle stammered as Oricorio kept surprising her. Piplup used Aerial Ace again, slapping the bubbles right back at Oricorio, only for the Dancing Pokemon to kick them in retaliation once more. At this point, they were playing ping pong with each other.

"It's like a game of tennis now! Neither Piplup nor Oricorio wants to be hit by those spectral bubbles directly! How fun!"

"Oh, I'm getting dizzy..." Scootaloo's eyes were struggling to keep up with the speed they were hitting these bubbles along with others.

"You're outmatched, my little pony! Oricorio, add some agility onto it!"

"Corio!" While kicking the bubbles away, Oricorio had used Agility once more, increasing its speed. And thus, afterimages had been formed as it now looked like multiple Oricorio were hitting the bubbles. Thanks to the speed increase, Oricorio was also kicking them back at a faster pace, beginning to overwhelm Piplup.

"P-Piplup...!" Piplup was struggling to keep up. His arms coupled with the speed of Aerial Ace had their limits and with Oricorio gaining acceleration, it wasn't looking good on his side as one of the bubbles hit his face while he kept swinging.

"Piplup might not make it through all of that..." Sweetie Belle growled, looking over at the monitor. For the most part, they were even, but Jessie was racking up more points while Sweetie Belle's points were starting to decrease. "I gotta improvise...but what do I do?"

The little unicorn thought as hard as she could, looking for something of great use before Piplup could be overwhelmed. It didn't help but that Oricorion was also getting closer with Sky Attack. That's when she looked at Piplup's beak which was still radiating spectral energy for inspiration.

"I got it! Piplup! Thrust your beak through some of the bubbles!"

"Lup? Piplup!" Piplup didn't understand it at first but trusted in his partner. And once the majority of the bubbles came his way, he prepared them from Drill Peck. Piplup braced himself as some of the bubbles had bombarded him. But the rest, mainly six of them, ended up connecting with his beak. Piplup had thrust them forward as the beak had caught the 6 bubbles without even popping them.

Essentially, he had made a shish kebab out of the six bubbles, amazing everyone. They were amazed by what Piplup had pulled off and how he had kept the spectral bubbles intact. "Talk about precision! Not a single pop!"

"The spectral aura from Revelation Dance truly acted as an amazing shield. It cushioned the impact with Drill Peck." Twilight noticed before anyone else.

"Impossible!" Jessie pulled back before pulling on her pigtails. "What's with these kids and their otherworldly tricks!?"

"Now let 'em have it! Get in there beak-first!"

"Piplup!" Piplup then approached Oricorio, running in with the bubbles around his beak. He ran past the other bubbles that Oricorio kicked in his direction. Piplup narrowed his eyes as he would make this a direct hit.

Oricorio, who was still using Sky Attack, was expecting direct contact. And direct contact was on the horizon. However, the moment Piplup got close and Oricorio was ready to use the full utility of Sky Attack, a bit of a reverse occurred.

"Let's dance around them too! Spin!"

"Piplup!" Piplup would also dance Or at least, a small dance. He used the force of Drill Peck to rotate his body. Not only did become a blue and purple blur, but he had also eluded Oricorio's kick from Sky Attack, successfully evading the attack.

"Ori?!"

"Lup!" Piplup then bounced off of one of the bubbles, launching himself towards Oricorio after passing it. The Penguin Pokemon then used his rotating body to crash into Oricorio's back, pulling off a successful attack.

"Direct hit! Using the bubbles to pick up some velocity and dancing around that Sky Attack was superb!" Marian commented as Oricorio took a harsh tumble. The aftermath was the spectral energy dissipating into the air, along with the one around Piplup's beak.

Piplup took a bow after landing with the bubbles finally popping. And once that all came to an end, it wasn't time that decided this round. Rather, it was a total knockout. Oricorio had fainted.

"Oricorio..."

"Oricorio is down and out! That means that Sweetie Belle's advancing onto the finals!" Marian announced with cheers flooding the atmosphere.

"Whew!" Sweetie Belle sat down, feeling slightly exhausted after that performance. "We did it, Piplup..."

"Piplup!" Piplup ran over, tackling Sweetie Belle with a hug.

"Well done, Oricorio." Jessie soon returned Oricorio to its Poke Ball, congratulating it. She lowered her head before putting up a smile, gazing at Sweetie Belle afterwards. "Same to you, twerpette. You're almost a prodigy. Almost."

"Gee. Thanks, Jesselle." Sweetie Belle chucked while holding onto Piplup. "You were great too. It was fun to battle you a second time."

"Might be the last." Jessie suddenly altered the tone with that ominous response. She then left the stage, returning to the waiting room. Jessie had no reason to be here anymore since she had lost in the semi-finals. However, before her departure, Sweetie Belle wanted to do something.

"I can smell that fourth ribbon!" Rarity roared. "Very soon, her place in the Grand Festival will be cemented!"

"But she's going up against Premium Polish. They're even, aren't they?" said Fluttershy.

"At least it's not Gelidity. Getting past her would've been a nightmare if she was in this contest." Twilight replied as speaking of Premium Polish, she was up next along with another coordinator.

Back at the waiting room, Jessie had placed the two Team Rocket Poke Balls away. They were of temporary use due to being from the Rocket Prize Machine. It was mainly Giovanni who owned them, thus, no personal ownage for Jessie or even James for the matter.

Jessie had a stoic face while packing things up. She didn't react much until pausing for a moment. While getting ready to take off her glasses, she looked at the nearby mirror in this room. Jessie thought about something. Her career as a Pokemon Coordinator.

From her first appearance in the Sinnoh Region as Jessalina and to the current day appearance in Equestria as Jesselle, Jessie couldn't help but think of how it all turned out.

"Hello? Jesselle?" Entering the room was Sweetie Belle. Jessie quickly took her hands off her glasses as to not break her disguise. "There you are. I was uh...just hoping you were okay."

"Hm? Oh, you. What do you want?"

"Well, back there, you said something about this being our last encounter. Why's that?" Sweetie Belle questioned.

"Made you worry, didn't I? You don't have to. After all, I don't see much of a point of continuing." Jessie shrugged as it was revealed that she was leaning towards ending her career as a Pokemon Coordinator.

"Huh?!"

"It'll mean you won't have to face against me. I've been at this Pokemon Contest shtick for years now. And at best, I can only reach the semi-finals all the time."

"All the time?"

"Mhm. You won't catch me with a trophy. No point in continuing some more if I can't get that victory I've been looking for. I don't think Pokemon Contests were my forte, to begin with." Essentially, Jessie was starting to give up.

"But you're so good!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed, watching Jessie pack up everything. "I thought I was gonna lose back there and you've got more experience than me!"

"Not good enough." Jessie zipped her bag. "If that twerp can eventually become a champion after so long...I thought I could become a Top Coordinator eventually. But, that's never happening is it?"

"You mean Ash? Well, yeah. But he never gave up, did he?"

"Turns out I'm not twerp material. That's sort of a relief." Jessie shrugged before deciding on something. She then looked around, hoping no one else was here. It was just her and Sweetie Belle. "I guess since this is the last time we'll compete with each other, you deserve to know this."

Jessie then removed the bands on her pigtails while also taking off her glasses. She then instantly did a swift swivel before revealing her true appearance. Jessie from Team Rocket. Sweetie Belle took 2 seconds to recognize her before stepping back in shock. "You're...Jessie from Team Rocket?! Oh, the twerp stuff makes sense now..."

"My disguises never fail~" Jessie chuckled. "But seriously. This is it. End of this road."

"Well..." Sweetie Belle placed her hoof on her mouth. "Even if you are Team Rocket...you can't give up on something you like, can't you?"

"Hm?" Instead of freaking out, Jessie was surprised to see that Sweetie Belle was calm and collected in all of this. The expected reaction was her screaming at the top of her lungs and alerting everyone.

"I mean, you never gave up on chasing Pikachu even after all these years did you?"

"I guess not..." Jessie pondered, seeing that Sweetie Belle raised a good point.

"So why stop now? You're super fun to battle against. I-In the contest, I mean. Plus, you're good at the performance stages too. You do so many amazing things that I tried doing too!"

"You did?"

"Totally! I made a list of all the things I've seen my friends and others do for contest move ideas!" As always, Sweetie Belle had that list with her, holding it out to Jessie. "Yours is there too cause there's so many good ones! But I don't have any Pokemon that can do it yet."

"Hm-hm-hm." That got a chuckle out of Jessie. She couldn't help but admire Sweetie Belle's enthusiasm, despite standing in the face of a foe. James and Meowth could also be seen peeking through the door. Only Jessie noticed them. Jessie then looked at Sweetie Belle, kneeling to get to her level. "You're a funny little twerpette. You remind me of... what's her name? Dawn. I can see a lot of her in you."

"Really?" Sweetie Belle beamed.

"The same goes for your other two friends. That pegasus is all too much like Ash and that earth pony's already leaning somewhere close to Brock. Huh...I've never said their names before, have I?" Jessie now realized that this was her first time calling her enemies by their names instead of just referring them to Twerp and Twerpette. "First for everything. And I guess your words kind of rub off on me."

"They do? S-So are you still gonna be in future Pokemon Contests?"

"You're right about me not giving up. The chances of me giving catching Pikachu are rarer than any Pokemon out there. And if I have that drive, then I can use it in contests, until I'm at the very top of them all. A Top Coordinator." Jessie was back in. Thanks to some words from Sweetie Belle and a cuteness factor added in, she had been convicted.

"That's great to hear."

"Hm." Jessie then smiled before looking at James and Meowth, giving a nod. James and Meowth knew what they needed to do as they suddenly pulled the Rocket Prize Machine towards them. They quickly started activating with Meowth being the catalyst. "But before all that, do me a favour?"

"Yeah?"

"Have a look over at that door." Jessie pointed ahead before rushing back to her bag. Immediately, while putting her Jesselle costume back on, Sweetie Belle turned to see Hypno in front of her.

"Hypno." Hypno swung the pendulum in its hand in front of Sweetie Belle. The arcing movement and glitter of the pendulum lulled the little unicorn, hypnotizing her. Immediately, Sweetie Belle not only felt drowsy, but she also forgot the conversation that happened minutes ago between her and Jessie.

Speaking of Jessie, Sweetie Belle was ordered to turn around by Hypno. And once she did, Jessie in her Jesselle disguise could be seen. The deed had been done as James recalled Hypno. "Jesselle? What happened?"

"Oh, nothing. You just seemed sleepy there. Might need to have those Plusle and Minun shock you again."

"Uh...Okay. But I wanted to talk to you about something you said before." She still had the intention of bringing up Jessie's comment about this being her last contest.

"Hm? Oh, that. Just a joke. Good luck on that final round! Buh-bye!" Jessie then chuckled before leaving the scene. Sweetie Belle stood there confused. She felt as if she had a conversation prior to this. Seconds ago. However, she shrugged it off, preparing for the finals.

It was time for the finals. Premium Polish defeated her opponent, making her a part of the final two. It would be her against Sweetie Belle in this instance. The Baltimare Ribbon was on the line now for these two.

"It's time for our final round for today's Pokemon Contest! On my right, it's Sweetie Belle and on my left, it's Premium Polish! Only one of them is taking the Baltimare Ribbon!"

"This is it." Sweetie Belle held out her Poke Ball. "If I get this ribbon, then I have a chance to get my fifth one. Then it's the Grand Festival for me."

"Bring out your Pokemon, you two!"

"Come on out, Teddiursa!" For Sweetie Belle, it would be Teddiursa as the Poke Ball released effects of the crescent moon once it had opened.

"Teddiursa!"

"Go! Masquerain!" And for Premium Polish, it would be Masquerain with its special effects being eyes, resembling the pattern on Masquerain's wings.

"Masquerain!"

"5 minutes on the clock, my little ponies! Begin!"

"I think I'll keep it laid-back for this one. Mist!"

"Masq! Masquerain!" Masquerain went first, flapping his wings. His wings gave off light energy before cloaking himself and in a white mist. This mist was powerful enough to conceal his appearance, however, he wasn't fully invisible.

"Now, Scary Face!"

"Querain!" Within the cloak of mist, Masquerain had used Scary Face. And this was where Masquerain shined. Masquerain always intimidates enemies with the eyelike patterns on its antennas and they were used in full effect here as a face was starting to form within the mist.

Sharp, piercing eyes that matched that of either a Tyranitar or a Garchomp could be seen within the mist as it was already getting to Teddiursa. Teddiursa growled, standing his ground as to not be fully intimidated.

"That's laid back...?" Sweetie Belle was also intimidated by the eye patterns. "We'll do it our way then. Use Night Slash! Make it consecutive!"

"Teddi!" Teddiursa raised his hands before summoning two blades of darkness. He then stabbed into the floor, making them stick for the meantime. But he didn't stop there. Teddiursa started running, creating more blades and continuously stabbing them into the floor, making a neat pattern.

"Teddiursa's placing all of those Night Slash blades down, making some sort of domino effect? What's it planning?!"

"Okay! Now jump and use Swift!"

"Ursa!" After placing down enough and a good handful, Teddiursa then stopped at the last blade. The blades of Night Slash were fairly tall. Taller than Teddiursa and slightly taller than a foal. Teddiursa then jumped at the last blade as it started bending.

Everyone gawked as Teddiursa had used the blade as a spring, bouncing off of it. He then landed on another blade, bouncing off of that one too. Soon, he started bouncing from blade to blade, gaining higher heights each time.

"It's like an obstacle course for Teddiursa right now! All those blades are giving it the height it wants! And I didn't know Night Slash could bend?!"

"Ursa!" Once high enough, Teddiursa had shifted into Swift. Multiple stars were summoned, circling his body. Teddiursa stayed in the air for a moment. He then brought the stars closer to him, causing them to illuminate his body. That earned style points without a doubt.

Teddiursa then started free-falling, having the stars orbit his body and give him a glow so that any contact with him would result in visible damage. "Masquerain's the only one here who controls the air! Start flying and cover the air with Mist!"

"Masq!" Masquerain would still utilize MisT in this instance as he approached Teddiursa. Only to then pass by him. Whilst flying, Teddiursa had formed a trail of mist. And along the way, patterns from its wings were trailing too. Not only did it give everyone a good view, but the Mist also wrapped around Teddiursa.

"Teddiursa?!" Teddiursa's free-falling came to an end as he was being spun by the mist each time Masquerain flew around him. Masquerain had then made a Mist Tornado that started from the top and finished at the bottom with a swirl. They even touched the blades of Night Slash, causing them to illuminate the mist with the surprisingly vibrant darkness.

"The black and red glow from all those Night Slash blades work well with the light blue colours of Mist! Talk about using someone else's tricks!"

All the while, Teddiursa was starting to get dizzy from all of this spinning. His eyes were rotating constantly. He wasn't taking any damage as Mist doesn't do so, but the spiralling was enough.

"Oh, it's making me dizzy!" Sweetie Belle held her head before thinking of the only way to escape from this. "Teddiursa! Let out all the light from Swift!"

"Sa! Teddiursa!" Teddirusa then closed his eyes before allowing the light energy and the surrounding stars from Swift to be unleashed. And unleashed they were. The brightness permeated the mist, shining through as everyone dazzled. Much like how Masquerain had used Mist on Teddiursa's Night Slash blades, Teddiursa returned the favour by using Swift on his Mist.

The Mist was overpowered by the light as the stars had also been thrown. Some of the stars then started surrounding the Mist Tornado, mainly due to the pull it already had. However, Masquerain had been exposed to this light, being blinded for a bit.

Premium Polish lost some points from that shining display as the Mist Tornado ended with the star-shaped rays then flying off. Teddiursa could finally land as he landed on one of the blades.

"We've seen a lot of juggling today, so let's juggle him! Thunder Punch!"

"Ursa!" Teddiursa then launched himself into the air with the bending blades, preparing Thunder Punch. It was time for Masquerain to go on a little bounce.

"Masquerian, quick! Dodge and use Silver Wind!"

"Masq..." Masquerain had just recovered from the bright light. But it was too late. Teddiursa smashed his paws onto Masquerain's head, launching him downwards. And immediately, the Eyeball Pokemon bounced off a blade without his control. He had then bounced off another blade once launched off the other. Soon, everyone watched as Masquerain went all of the place, bouncing off of the blades

"Worked like a charm!"

"Oh my gosh! Masquerain!" gasped Premium Polish as Masquerain was now the one getting dizzy whilst going all over the place.

"Oh! Does Teddiursa have Masquerain trapped in a loop?! Masquerain's finding it hard to recover at the right time with all this bouncing, even in the air!"

"We're not going out this way! Aqua Jet!"

"Mas! Masquerain!" Masquerain had one method of escaping. And that was the quick-acting Aqua Jet. He had used it right as his body was about to touch another Night Slash Blade. The Eyeball Pokemon had then let out a burst of strength before dashing through the air with an aura of water.

"Charge through those blades!"

"Masquerain!" After finally escaping from the loop, Masquerain went for the blades, dashing at a lower level. He started barging through them, causing the blades to fly out of the floor and fly all over the place while approaching Teddiursa. No more being laid-back.

"Here he comes! Grab some of the blades and use Thunder Punch on them!"

"Teddi!" Teddiursa grabbed the nearest blades that hadn't been knocked away yet. Once doing so, he transferred the electricity of Thunder Punch onto the blades. Not only did they let out their black and red glow, but they had also gained sparks of electricity.

"I say...throw them!"

"Ursa!" Teddiursa then launched the electric blades at Masquerain, aiming to overwhelm him with electricity since he was in a veil of water. This would deal ridiculous damage.

"I don't think so! Go over, Masquerain!"

"Masquerain!" Masquerain simply flew over the blades, eluding them. He had then descended, crashing into Teddiursa at last, knocking him aside.

"Ursa!"

"Okay! Silver Wind! Make it rain!"

"Masq!" Masquerain then continued to the air, focusing on a downwards attack next. But with the help of Teddiursa's blades. He had used the stream of Aqua Jet to bring some of the Night Slash blades with him before finishing Aqua Jet. The blades were then airborne, allowing for Masquerain to work his magic.

He had used Silver Wind, flapping his wings as a wind with silver crescents of energy in it were released. These crescents had then met with the blades of Night Slash, cutting them in half. And with that, it was raining light and dark. The air above was being blocked by these raining colours.

"Black and white always make a great colour combo! And this shows it! It's raining crescents and blades! Smaller blades this time?"

"Look out, Teddiursa!"

"Teddi?" Teddiursa raised his head to see the array of attacks coming his way. He then put up his paws to block as the assault of attacks rained down on him. He had been bombarded by Silver Wind and Night Slash respectively before being knocked away. Tediursa went flying from this assault. "Ursa!"

Points had been lost on both sides. It was looking fairly close with them as time was dropping too. 3 minutes which soon transitioned into 2 minutes occurred.

"Masquerain's a fast one. But he won't be fast when we get the drop on him. Teddiursa, rub your paws together with Thunder Punch!"

"Ursa!" Teddiursa sparked his paws with 50,000 volts before putting them together. He then started rubbing them as if he was trying to warm himself. And by doing so, the electricity reacted in the same way it would on a carpet. Usually, it's not easy to start electricity by rubbing, but it works better when there's already a way to start electricity. And by starting up electricity, Teddiursa started making his body spark electricity.

"Mist! Flood the whole place!"

"Querain!" Masquerain flapped his wings, using Mist to cloak everything this time. The goal was to obstruct Teddiursa's view as the icy blue mist started wrapping everything, making it hard for even the crowd to see.

"Oh, it's hard to see now! But anything could happen in and out of that!" Marian squinted.

"This time, I won't let you use Swift on this! Masquerain, use Aqua Jet!"

"Masq!" Masquerain was the only one who could see clearly as it had started the attack. However, that's what Sweetie Belle wanted. Mostly because Teddiursa hadn't stopped Thunder Punch even with the Mist appearing.

"Gotcha...Let it go, Teddiursa!"

"Teddiursa!" Teddiursa then released all that built up electricity in his body, causing all of it to release with a mighty flare. This flare of electricity went in every direction, creating holes in the mist. The crowd could thankfully see this one as Masquerain and his veil of water had been struck by the loose electricity.

And it certainly did some damage. Masquerain being weak to Electric and having a veil of Water made the electricity stronger. Thanks to this, Teddiursa had spotted Masquerain as some of the mist had faded away.

"Wait! Did it hit?!" Premium Polish squinted, wondering if Aqua Jet connected.

"Swift!"

"Ursa!" Teddiursa ended up using Swift afterwards, causing the light energy from it to show itself. He then fired the light from his body as it soon formed into the usual star-shaped rays. They battered Masquerain while also blowing away the Mist, giving it a nice shine before doing so.

The Mist finally faded as Masquerain had taken the most damage. Masquerain also tumbled on the floor, much to Premium's shock. But Masquerain was still able to continue as he quickly recovered, staying airborne. "M-Masq!"

"Teddi...!" Teddiursa growled.

"Such resilient Pokemon! No idea what happened inside there but everything outside was beautiful!"

"What do you think happened in there?" Pinkie Pie wondered. "Kinda looks like Masquerain's in a worse shape than Teddiursa."

"That's saying something since Teddiursa's far more fragile than Masquerain. But that Aqua Jet must've helped Teddiursa's Thunder Punch to its benefit. Doesn't help that Masquerain's always weak to Electric." Twilight replied. "Any of them could knock each other out but..."

"We'll finish this right now! Teddiursa!"

"We still have more to show, Masquerain!" Both filly unicorns were ready to give off their last contest splash to the audience, hoping to knock the other out.

"Use-"

"Time!" But time was up for them. 0:00 had arrived. They gasped before turning to the monitor. "And the winner of the final stage is...Sweetie Belle! A stunning Baltimare victory!"

Won by a fraction. Their bars were ridiculously close to each other. But thanks to the Thunder Punch and Swift advantage, Sweetie Belle edged out, making her the victor of this match and the overall contest.

"Oh...Oh!" Sweetie Belle fell on her back as she could only laugh with joy. "Finally! That was longer than the rest I think..."

"Yeah! She did it!" Ash and the others cheered as a resounding applaud went across the contest hall. Fantina nodded in approval after seeing her student do so well.

"Pikachu!"

"I'm so proud! I always was but even more so than ever!" Rarity cried before using Audino as a way to let her tears out.

"Audino." Audino comforted Rarity, letting her cry with joy. Teddiursa also laid on his back, feeling exhausted himself. Masquerain lowered his head, only for Premium to comfort him.

"Great job, Masquerain."

"Masq."

"You got me through another one, Teddiursa. Thanks for that."

"Teddi."

"You too, Premium. Guess it's my win again." Sweetie Belle chuckled.

"Guess it is. But it won't be your win next time. Especially when it comes to the Grand Festival. I'll be showing up better than ever with some new stuff to show off. Just you wait."

"Looking forward to it. Now...I wanna rest a bit." She yawned, feeling the urge to sleep. But not before finishing things off with the ribbon, of course.

It was finally over. This one felt longer than rest for sure. And it certainly didn't disappoint. But now, it was time for the ribbon to be handed out. Sweetie Belle stood in front of the judges as Mr Contesta brought the Baltimare Ribbon to her.

"Proof of your victory, Sweetie Belle. I understand that this is your 4th Contest Ribbon. One more and you know what means, right?" Contesta asked.

"I sure do! If I can get one more and the Grand Festival's my next stop!" She pranced with absolute joy. She could go after the other three since Equestria has 8 ribbons, but she couldn't wait for the Grand Festival.

"Well done, Sweetie Belle. You're certainly a fast grower." Fantina walked up to her. "Dare I say a prodigy?"

"I can agree on that. Remarkable talent without a doubt!" Sukizo agreed as Sweetie Belle blushed from this compliment. She was certainly getting more praise as of recently. And no doubt, her fame would increase.

"We'll be seeing you in the next contest. And soon the Grand Festival," said Contesta.

"Great! But for now...The Baltimare Ribbon is mine!" She raised it into the air before also twirling it with her magic.

"That brings today and this month's exciting Baltimare Contest to an end! In the next two months, it'll be the Cloudsdale Ribbon! So take a Flying-Type or something else for an aerial time, okay?" Marian winked. "Until then! Goodbye!"

Late Afternoon.

Sweetie Belle had fallen asleep from exhaustion. She had been carried out with Audino holding her as all of her friends left the hall. But before they could head home, Fantina had approached.

"Well, it was a great day today. But it can be even better in just two days, non?" Fantina said, standing before them. "I heard you were all going to visit the Holon Region."

"Right. We've gotta check out all those Delta Pokemon and whatever else is there." Ash replied.

"How fun! Say hello to Professor Pine to me when you get there. We are good friends." Fantina chuckled. "But take care of yourselves too. And of her. You have a glorieuse coordinator here. And a great student too."

"I know I will. And she can do so as well." Rarity looked at her little sister who was sleeping peacefully. With that short conversation over, it was back home.

Next up was the Holon Region. And the only thing left for Sweetie Belle was the final ribbon. Unless she wanted to challenge the other ones and go the full 8 Ribbons. That was her choice as the journey continues.
