Instead, the Elements of Harmony find themselves in a world where clean water is a luxury, corporations are governments unto themselves, corruption is rampant, technology is making people obsolete, and not having the right papers means you don’t even exist to the Powers-That-Be.

At least they still have each other.

One night when Sunset Shimmer is out holiday shopping, she ends up involved in a terrible accident. The next morning, Anon-a-Miss posts another embarrassing secret. The Rainbooms prepare to confront Sunset Shimmer about it when Principal Celestia calls an emergency assembly. Once they hear what happened to Sunset, all suspicion about her vanishes and they resolve to find the real culprit behind Anon-a-Miss to give Sunset Shimmer a Merry Christmas.

Since The Friendship Games, Sunset and Twilight now have something in common: Magical transformations, an experience unlike any other that they both endured. Twilight now feels inclined to share her feelings about the matter. Though the circumstances were different and their reasons even more so, they can agree on one thing....
