Prologue
Berry Punch was a college student. She was also an alcoholic. She loved drinking a little bit too much. That was why she was so smashed when she exited the bar. She took out her car keys and unlocked her car to drive home.
Normally, the smart thing to do was to call a cab or a friend to drive her home. But Berry Punch had dropped her phone in the toilet earlier. So, there was no chance of her using it. She decided that she was OK to drive and started the engine.
Sunset Shimmer was a student of Canterlot High School. Tonight, she was doing some Christmas shopping for her friends. She managed to save up to get each of them the perfect gift.
Sunset Shimmer smiled warmly. She used to believe that she could only get everything she could ever want by using force. She thought power was everything. But then she was made to realize there was something better than power.
Friendship.
It was bumpy at first, awkward really. No one had quite forgotten what she was like as the school’s Alpha Bitch, but she was still making an effort to change; to be a better person.
“Here you go, miss. All of them gift wrapped.”
“Thank you.”
Sunset Shimmer paid for her purchases and carried the bags out of the store.
As she was heading home, she did not notice Berry’s car speeding up behind her.

Well, short, but very effective first chapter.
Well, shit. This fic already has no chill... I'm game. Short and sweet is always good for a prologue. Nice.

It is ILLEGAL for a reason; your reaction speed, and hazard awareness, are both drastically reduced when you're affected by alcohol - which is why L-, P1- and P2-platers must have a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0 in New South Wales (I have no idea about other states, let alone countries), and full-license drivers have a limit of 0.05 BAC. It is incredibly dangerous to exceed these limits.

I've never been drunk (never even touched alcohol) but I remember wearing these goggles that basically stimulate what things look like when you're drunk off your butt. Everything was blurry, disorienting and I felt like I couldn't tell up from down. Plus there was this strange rainbow effect like I was seeing through a wonky prism. I could barely walk with those goggles, I couldn't even think about trying to drive what is essentially a two toned wrecking ball at alarming speeds. But then I guess alcohol effects how you think, not just how you see.
I... guess this kind of works being this short? I dunno. I'm not thrilled.
