If you would ask creatures what they thought of Twilight Sparkle, most might say she is one of, if not the most successful mare in the country. Along with being a princess, living in a castle, and running her own school at such a young age, she has the most amazing group of friends she could ask for. They have helped her get to where she is now, and they enjoy helping her, right?

Twilight commissions a dress from Rarity. But it's Rarity and Twilight: there is no such thing as just buying a dress.

This story is a bomb.

Ever since Rarity knew she was a filly, she knew what it meant to be a lady. Her platonic friends were wonderful mares, yes, but her prince would sweep her off her hooves any moment now, if only she were a little more lady-like. That's what she tells Twilight, anyhow.

Mares of many talents often find themselves in sticky situations. In Rarity's case, she must hold true to the promise she gave to Princess Twilight Sparkle. It never occurred to her that she may be required to forcibly defend her position as the princess' companion, but it's of little consequence. A promise is a promise, is it not?
