It was 1825, and it's been a year since Ludwig van Beethoven had premiered his Ninth Symphony. One evening as he did his daily walks in the Austrian countryside, a surprise storm forced the composer back into his cheap, rented room. Where a mysterious shadow whisked him away to Equestria, taking everything, including his music along with him.

Holding Ludwig captive against his will, the shadow tells him that if he ever hopes to see all he knows and loves in Vienna, he would have to give him something in exchange. Something priceless that only he could give. The shadow demands that he'll give Beethoven one year to compose his Tenth Symphony, or give up all hope that he will ever return home.

Sunset Shimmer has an interesting encounter with this world's version of a horse when she goes to help Applejack on the farm. This leads into a conversation that gets a bit more introspective than Sunset was probably hoping for when she came over that day. Sometimes you just need to hear the right advice from a friend though, and Applejack is plenty happy to oblige.

Set between the first Equestria Girls movie and Rainbow Rocks. Part of a series of fics I've been working on about Sunset's early days learning how friendship works, which starts with my previous story Asking a Favor. Can absolutely be read as a standalone though.

Nonetheless meet Alexander a twenty two year old medical courier. Every Thursday Alexander gets up bright and early and hits the highway, however not everything goes according to plan while driving. Sometimes an event happens that you can't predict or plan for. It's at this time that you have to make a split-second decision. Do you keep true and hope to the high heavens that you survive or do you veer for the deer.

Don't know what the heck the 401 is? Well that's an easy question to answer. It's a highway in Canada, Ontario that stretches 817.9 km or 508.2 miles for all you American's. You can travel all the way from Cornwall to Windsor without ever leaving the highway.
