This story is a sequel to The Rock in the Gulch

When Project Freelancer started the Red and Blue Simulation Troopers project, they knew that in order to get the best results, a crack team of analysts for each battleground would be needed, selected perfectly to best match the troopers they were monitoring. Naturally the ones assigned to Blood Gulch are some of the biggest eccentrics you'll find this side of the loony bin. And when Church adopted a baby pony from another dimension, let's just say no one could blame them for putting down their pens and picking up the popcorn.

Then they got their own, and things got really crazy.

I know it says sequel, but it takes place at the same time as 'The Rock in the Gulch', to be exact the first chapter takes place between 'It's Stale, Mate' and 'Insubordinariation'

The Pairing Stone has declared that one of the Pie Sisters is to marry Caramel, a stallion whom they've never met before. When he and his traveling companion arrive on the rock farm, the entire family is surprised to find that he appears to be a she! What does this mean for the Pie Family? Is the Pairing Stone okay? How will Cloudy Quartz ever get grandfoals out of this arrangement? Find out in Caramel 1/2!

Inky and Blinky are now crystal harvesters in the Crystal Empire.

Ever since her daughters found success outside of the family farm, Cloudy has been overjoyed. Yet, something still lingers when she walks the quiet house and grounds.

Why does she feel so lonely without them?

The day of the Rainboom affected more ponies than just the canon Mane Six. Almost ten years later, Princess Celestia sends her personal student Twilight Sparkle and one such affected pony to Ponyville. Meeting four others, they must work together to achieve what Princess Celestia could not: defeat Nightmare Moon and save the long-lost Princess Luna from the monster she was trapped within.

It's also a shameless excuse for me to partner Twilight with five of my favorite ponies. Welcome to the Differentverse.

Limestone Pie takes her youngest sister to the Peaks of Peril in search of something important. Marble Pie finds something else.

Some might think that a pony without much to say doesn't have a lot going on in their minds. Those ponies would be wrong. In fact, it's usually the quiet ones that think the most.

Marble Pie thinks a lot. Most of the time, she thinks about rocks, and how scary everything else is.

Big MacIntosh thinks a lot. Most of the time, he thinks about apples, and how complicated everything else is.

Now, throughout the good times and the bad times of Hearth's Warming, they think about each other.

Marble loves her family.

She helps them, cares for them, and would never, ever treat them poorly.

She can't really say the same for herself.
