James Kaughn is a member of the world's most elite fighting force, but when his team is sent in to rescue a captive family in Afghanistan the mission hits a snag. He stays behind to allow the others to escape, fully expecting to die, but ends up in an unfamiliar place. Join him as he meets new challenges and struggles with his worsening PTSD. Have I always been loyal to my friends? No. There are things that they didn't know about me. Lots of secrets from the past that I've kept from everypony. I had a past full of disgrace, shame, and loneliness. Things that I wish had never happened. Only a few ponies know the truth. But I could only keep my past away for so long...

There is a secret being kept from Equestria. Not a single soul is aware of it. There was gossip, yes. Those ponies had been deemed mad. But those who accused the gossipers as such didn't notice the extra weight that was carried by the air. They failed to notice the subtle shifts in the breeze, or the slight change of coloration to their surroundings. Not a single soul saw it coming.
