Perfect timing, I finished your last chapter 5 minutes before this one went up. I thought Ripple was younger than sentinel, but I guess I was wrong. It was nice to take a step back and get a good view of what happened.
I freeking love this story

Sentinel is slightly older than Dinky and Pina, but younger than Ripple. Ripple is a few years younger than Loch and Sparkler, who are about the same age.
This is probably by far your best chapter yet, it was dramatic, philosophic, introduced 2 new permanent characters, and made us all gasp at all of the changes made in such a short time, bravo! This changes so much for the future, how the mainland is reacting, more wives, and more outlook on the ever-exciting lives of the Herd! :D Here are my emotions: ...That's a lot of emotions...

I think it's because last chapter Ripple was trying to imitate Sentinel. I typically see this with little kids looking up to someone who is a bit older, so I just assumed Sentinel was a bit older.
this is how i mentally see the herd age structure as noted in the story
Bon Bon
Derpy
Berry
Lyra
Bucky
Thistle
Rising Star
Sparkler/Loch
Ripple
Sentinel
Dinky
Pina
I LOVED this chapter. It made me smile. It's really hard to make me smile. You did very well.
Im imagining the difficulty in the future when writing the children of all these herd members. Go to admit im starting to think that Bucky should stop calling it a herd and more of a kingdom.
Huh. So House Avarice turned the Isles into a sort of karmic singularity. The place pulls in its creators and crushes everyone within with adversity and suffering. Or, at least, it did. It's trying to pull in somepony attached to two very stubborn mares, and is getting dragged kicking and screaming into the light as a result.
The herd roundup was excellently done. Checking the dials on each character arc, as it were.
At this point, I'm honestly beginning to worry about Bucky's potential for alcoholism. He's not burning that booze off with magic anymore...
Most pegasi have to kick clouds to make them rain. Derpy Hooves just has to glare.
Wow. Um... Yeah. Anarchy in Equestria. That's a thing. Discord's probably having a blast, possibly literally. I can understand why Celestia closed the ports, but I hope the nation isn't too dependent on imports. In any case, the trip back is going to be very interesting...
The nature of Thistle and Derpy's agreement is fairly clear at this point. Really, I should've been able to guess. Also, counting Thistle, Bucky now has almost half as many wives as Keg Smasher. Dang.
Excellent chapter, especially the callback to the snoot bump that started it all. Eagerly looking forward to more.
Like on the lips? It's not quite clear... I need to know!
So finally an update on what's been going on back on the mainland...and it's not good news. Typical, Derpy disappears and everyone riots, just like in real life!
Seriously though, sounds like Equestria's too busy tearing itself apart to worry about making any sort of war effort against the Isles, so I suppose that's an upside...sorta. I hope Ponyville's coming through ok though, since they would have been at the epicenter of everything if the Avarices stopped sending threatening letters and actually tried something militarily. I'd hate to be any of their conscripts or mercenaries who had to go up against a pissed off Princess Twilight Sparkle and co...
So, who started it? House Avarice? Celestia? Twilight? Either way, I've got the camping chairs and marshmallows, who's got the beer?
4578230 With an alicorn and the Element Bearers living there? Ponyville is the safest place to be right now, whilst the rest of Equestria burns so that something good can rise from the ashes. If Canterlot suffers the same fate as other cities, I can see Ponyville becoming the new capital, with hundreds of refugees travelling there for protection.
Wow. With the sudden appearance of Lyra and Bon Bon and the news that they brought the feeling of isolation really set in. I never considered how much could have been changing on the main land. I hope we get to hear (or see) how things will develop or learn why things are so out of control.
Corrections because I love the work:
thanks for the update!!

A group of unicorns is called a blessing.
I'm really liking this story. Now I'm wondering if Bucky is going to include Lyra in communing. Imagine what he could do with another type three in the group.
Jesus shit that poetic opening!
I really dislike the fact that bucky wants to have their foals ( bon bon and lyra) and that, that isnt normal. (Even taking recent events into account) i find it wrong and kind of going against the agreement with Derpy and Berry. The fact they agreed makes me sad :( it also seems weird that for how young thistle is, shes trying to kiss, well idk, late twenties to early-mid thirties adults
...and now I feel like a butt, posting the errors I found in the comments. Agh! Well, I'll go round them up and PM them to you, sorry about that!
What remained was broken heap, a collection of ragged tatters
“But we do need to get you two cleaned up a bit”
1. Isn't it; What remained was a broken heap?
2. Forgot your fullstop.
That is a lot of ponys on a bed...PIG PILE!
Why did you have to write such an amazing story man? Seriously Dx this is getting me hooked on so many levels, its awesome. Its deep, got so much character stuffs going on, and plenty of laughs whille keeping it real.
I approve.
is this a reference to the Baltimore riots where they burned down the CVS Pharmacy?
When we first met Thistle I was very worried about her as seeing marriage only as a means to children. One of the most important things a parent can do for their kids is demonstrate a good marriage. If two parents both invest in their kids, but not their marriage, it ends with a war/ divorce with the kids torn in the middle.
Although I don't agree with every change in her opinion, I'm glad that she needed to change.
Can you please explain what you mean by 'darkness'. Especially the way you're saying Bucky should embrace his dark side and is better for his dark side, yet falling into darkness is always shown as a bad thing?
7173553 Think of Darkness not unlike Anger as a good analogy. Anger by itself isn't bad, BUT it does make it VERY easy to do bad things. To even do Evil things.
However, Anger can be used for GOOD things. We fought against the Nazis because of Anger. Even the Pacifist Jesus says that Anger isn't bad, but that you shouldn't let anger cause you to do the things you KNOW are Bad.
The Darkness within our hero is being tempered by Love. He wants to use it for a purpose to HELP his fellow ponies, instead of hurting them like the rest of his lineage have done.
...Still weird to read this after Weedverse. It's weirder than weird. The story is starting to refine itself, but there's a lot of moments where it feels like the story is trying too hard. I mean, you write about subjects that are a might unnerving in Weedverse, but it's always properly balanced with a more lighthearted edge, and the whole herd mentality in this story feels so backward. You're trying to show a herd can be good with the main characters, but most of the other examples are harsh unforgiving things of necessity. It just kinda feels like something being forced on the story at this point, but maybe that's just because of all the negativity in the Isles.

I learned how to write here.
suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

it's funny. I did this in an English lesson. The only reason i know about that poem.
There is not a singular word or expression known to man that could adequately convey the satisfaction and joy I feel with each page I read...This is up there with J. R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, hell, even Mark Twain.
I salute you sir.

You mean the "pacifist" who drove the money-changers from the temple with a whip and the second time he sent out his disciples told them to take swords with them?
Not saying he didn't command pacifism for certain situations but it was more complex than that.
