What Bucky is basically saying and trying to teach: Rules mean jack fucking shit in war. Real enemies could care less about any so called rules or morals you all may care about. All they want is you dead. You have to make sure they are dead before you are.
This was very exciting! Thanks, kudz!
I wonder why everyone is surprised at his actions. Bucky is the boogeypony and the embodiment of war so is it really that shocking that he would use this time to teach his current students (grown or otherwise) how to not just survive but WIN a war by any means necessary?

This is a real life phenomenon.
When a person goes into the army and goes to boot camp, you are dealing with a human being that has received social conditioning all their life that killing is wrong. For most people, cheating is wrong. Playing fair is something deeply ingrained in the common human being.
In boot camp, all of this social conditioning is broken down. Recruits are taught to kill. How to cheat. How to play dirty. How to put a thumb into someone else's eye. All of the horrible things humans are told not to do.
Bucky is encountering this. Ponies untouched by war. Ponies told that killing is wrong. Cheating is wrong. And they don't like what they see.
Good lesson and point, now he really does owe sunset an apology.
Hehehe this was an excellent chapter. Thanks again Kudzu.

I've only been saying this for like five hundred chapters. In war, all that matters is winning and survival. Everything else can be dealt with later!
Reminds me of the duel in the season finale... Oops. Spoiler alert!
6689294 It´s quite ironic. Being a demonspawn, he probably have a lot of chaos in him. But he denies such ammount of chaos by embracing the more organized (harmonic ?) field of study in the whole universe. Another one running from his own destiny maybe ?
HOLY....
Oh my... Celestia...
OVER 2 MILLION BUCKING WORDS?!?!?!!?
(Does I read it for fun? Or no?)

Do it. I'm actually planning on reading it again for fun soon... and to create a master information sheet
6692382 dude I've read this to chapter 722 twice which one time is about 1.5milwords? Idk? I'm considering reading it over yet again to give kudz a chance to get ahead of my pace *glares at kudzu* come on bro i need a large release preferably 12k words or more*starts reading some of his favorite scenes to hold him over and decides that if kudz doesn't have anything new by time he goes to bed tonight he'll just start over in the shetlands arc*
Rant edited down to one sentence:
I didn't like this "lesson" because I think I was hoping for something to show how much Sunset has grown, but what we got was Bucky being a dick and using it as an example of what not to do in the worst possible way: by succeeding wildly by doing it.
I am very much required to say something after spending the past three weeks reading your story I love it, I crave more And I am very satisfied to know I will get more You're my hero, sir
What, no fluffy Sunset bunny?
I was totally expecting a fluffy Sunset bunny.
Good leason though
So what did he even do? I mean, if he had spell jars that would magically defeat target opponent he would have been using them in various real situations.
