It is something done for the truly deserving, at least in Celestia's case.
Scorch could do it, if you recall his conversation with Rising Star.
Discord can do it too. He can horns and wings away. He can also add them.
Buzz Buzz.
It feels (or I feel)
understanding
It's nice to have shit fertilize fields instead of hitting indoor fans.
0.o Okay, I'm saying a dream, but in case it isn't...

Appletheosis.
Dinky's wizard hat should be .... a pith helmet. Why? Because!
It's nice to see Celestia in a giggly good mood.
So the CMC's little herd has two pegasi in it, and I'm wondering who is which type? I get the feeling that Scootaloo is the brooding pegasus. She had her "protect at all costs" moment and held Apple Bloom tightly, and has stayed beside the "nest" as AB and Sweetie slept off the stress, keeping an eye on things. So would that make Rumble the watcher?
Typos be darned.
5988916
Scorch also had that conversation with Bucky about what's a soul worth in a trade.
5988952
Somebody is observant.
If you recall, Rumble has thoughts about becoming a police officer just like his dad so he can keep watch over Ponyville.
5988957
Cannot say I remembered that initially. Hard to remember everything but I try to recall all that I can.
It does make me wonder who are the fiercer fighters in pegasi flocks/herds. Watchers would seem to be the first line of defense, catching and dealing with problems as soon as they're spotted. So they'd be the first and (in theory) most frequent to see action. Brooding pegasi though would be the last line of defense for the flock and (most importantly) the nest. And with the likes of Derpy, Ripple, Rainbow Dash, and now Scootaloo in their ranks, those aren't exactly ponies you want to get on the bad side of.
5988988
It was a dragon right of passage to go and mess with broody pegasi on their nests.
Not every dragon lived through those shenanigans.
Welp. House Apple has been born. The largest royal family FUCKING EVER.
5988998
.... Right of Passage, or fast track to a Darwin Award...
Where would the watchers be during such events?
5988998
Even if they are basically living metal that is fucking insane. Must be why adolescent Dragons decided to start messing with Phoenixes.
5989017
Busy taking care of the other dragons that formed a diversion, obviously.
- Did you just look at my young?
Mmmmuuuh, I'm all tired now after being cranky earlier. Kudz, read to me Shakespeare's, Julius Caesar, the non-translated latin addition. I wish for a simple bedtime story. ^.^
Edit: Just a little somethin' somethin' to spice up the bedroom experience. :P
Wow. No pressure, kids. Just make a science project worthy of apotheosis.
It's a good thing that Apple Bloom's a quadruped, because there are at least four candidates for her right hoof pony. Plus, Piña can help her with magic if she got a functioning thaumaturgical system out of the deal.
In any case, the Crusaders have come such a long, long way. They have at last reached their Jerusalem. Even better, now that their quest is complete, they have a new purpose. Praise Growth. Long may she flourish. (I wonder if she'll bring in Spring...)
The upswing definitely feels good. Looking forward to more.

I can't. Text boxes here have a 50,000 word limit. Sorry.
(I actually tried to post the whole play online.)
http://shakespeare.mit.edu/julius_caesar/full.html
Monkey sorry.
5989055 Pffft, toe my god! I haven't seen this since like, juuunior year? Senior? Yeah, both. :D This is... The whole damn thing. Oh my gosh, and it's decent recent english?! They have it in decent recent english?!! I can actually read this without squinting! I can understand these characters! I don't have to use the internet to do it for me! :D This is fucking revolutionary. Do all kids get this now? A fucking middle school child could read this!!!! Oh my god I'm actually happy about this for some reason!

When I was in seminary school, we had to study Shakespeare so we could better understand the 1611 King James Bible.
I shit you not.
I always thought it was weird, but whenever I tell somebody about it, nobody ever laughs. I just get blank stares.
(Not at all kidding right now)
Pffft, isn't half of Shakespeare's work comprised of old english slang? Like, people talked like that because it made them sound important and stuff. XD
I doubt a common village man talked like he was regurgitating his words. So even the translated bible, made to inform the lower ranks of what it really said, couldn't be properly read. ;P
Didn't Bucky pump a lot of money into Sweet Apple Acres? So wouldn't that put the Apple family including Apple Bloom in his debts. I'm guessing this would cause a little controversy because some people might think that Bucky is attempting to control the next big princess through debt. Of course he wouldn't be but I'm assuming there would probably be some accusations
5989445
Er, what?
5989036 As awesome as AB's accomplishment is, it is going to daunt a lot of foals. It might appeal.to the ambitious, but I will feel sorry for the ones with pushy parents.
5989521
If you aim for the stars, and you miss, you still hit the sky.
Society will still benefit, even from those who do not achieve Appletheosis.
Hawthorne for example, just revolutionised Equestria. Farmers will have a new cash crop that will produce ink and paper, but this hasn't been revealed just yet. The pomato plant from another student is going to have a huge impact on farming. (Pomatoes are real, btw. Google them!)
Even if you don't get Apple Bloom's level of success each year, if you have two or three projects like Hawthorne's ink plants and the pomato, society will be taking huge leaps ahead. But I guess nobody is thinking about these underlying successes.
5989554 The discoveries are great and such experiments should be encouraged. Curiosity is an amazing thing. I was thinking of the ugly side of the competitiveness.
5989590
The ugly side of competitiveness will have to be dealt with. That is a pain that lasts but a while.
A cash crop that revolutionises a country, that changes millions of lives of lives and impacts the future. And a good leader encourages such acts.
There might have only been one Edison or one Tesla, and millions of other crackpots that never quite made it to their level of success. Should society forsake the progress these two giants made in the name of fairness and removing the sting of competition?
It is a really tough question... for one person to succeed, that means that others must fail.
Do we rob ourselves of the potential rewards for one persons success to keep millions of others from experiencing failure?
When you think about the philosophical aspects, it becomes quite ugly and daunting.

Part of the problem I have with this truth is the hypocrisy surrounding it. Remember the outrage against Celestia's forward-thinking plans that didn't really account for how people felt in the now, as opposed to a prosperous and happy future in the works? It's really the same principle - society threw hundreds of budding inventors who didn't quite make it under the proverbial bus, and the greats climbed their way out of that societal pit to be the harbingers of that future revolution. Even though Edison was kind of a hack and started many of our current socio-economical issues... either way, people are fine with the 'sacrifices for progress' when viewed with something like the advancement of technology, or finding an answer to some scientific question.
Yet they pointed the finger at Celestia and said she was wrong, in the story, in the comments. Technically it's also the same thing Cosmicorn's doing, finding answers to questions. The mortals and gods he/she birthed to create these answers are the same as all those failed inventors and crackpots and whatnot that are lost to history and most lived horrible, terrible lives that drove them to poverty in the full-out-rush to try for success. No one cares about them, but the moment they hear someone is callous about THEM, they forget their own callous disregard and it's suddenly time to get up in arms.
Sheer hypocrisy.

Celestia's Ponyville project seems to be paying off big time after her other attempts were failures.
Sending Twilight to Ponyville scored the Elements of Harmony and all that goes with them.
The Crusader Project.
One grey pegasus mare that changed the outcome of a dreadful future.
And other things not yet revealed.
That's one alicorn, five game changers, two potential alicorns, the solution to world hunger, the stabilisation of the world's magic, a counterbalance to the cosmic corruption, and to top everything off, the Founder's dream of tribal unification and other advantages it might bring has been realised.
And this only scratches the surface, a brief summary of Celestia's success with the Ponyville project.
I think it far outweighs her failures in Fillydelphia, Manehatten, Baltimare, and Las Pegasus.
The hint lies with Princess Celestia's favourite film, which was revealed a few chapters back. She got Ponyville just right after learning what didn't work.
5989845 I start to wonder just how many Easter Eggs you've hidden through out your fic. All the little tid bits. Have you explained them all? You're like a magician with these plots. While you extend the story far and beyond the normal read, you connect all these dots. How much of bucky's life have you planned out? Better question: Does each and every chapter have a theme, and does it all connect into one big statement? O.O I want to know how much you've put into this experience, I want to know... now!
5989976
My story notes approach 90,000 words.
5989984 That, my good friend, doesn't necessarily give me a straight answer. You slimy weasel. :P
Edit: Funny that I called you good friend. We don't even know each other's names, and most likely never will. Isn't the internet fun?! In a place where words slowly loose their meaning and/or definition.
Edit Edit: Drank coco, very hyper!
5989995
I have story threads that span hundreds of chapters.
The Crusader project was mentioned at the very beginning of the story and has been hinted at for over 600 chapters.
If you were paying attention, Witching Hour came right out to Bucky's face and talked about vampirism. She knows what he is. But Bucky wasn't paying attention exactly and so he is blissfully unaware of what he is. But that, like many other things, has been left hiding in plain sight. (Chapter 222) This just goes to show you how stupid and how oblivious Bucky can be. When it is said that Bucky is too stupid to quit, that is more than just a funny statement... Bucky has been shown time and time again to be dumb, painfully dumb... but also something of an idiot savant.
He is not a smart pony and can be quite dense at times.
5989813 What you said. What Kudz says is correct and what you say is also correct. Society is like that no matter where you look. It always happens after a time of great upheaval. Stalin feared scholars so much he had them and other intellectuals purged. Sad. I'd rather see Celestia doing what she's done than what he did.
5990070
Pol Pot and the killing fields.
That moment when you watch a brain teasing movie and decide out of nowhere you want to be as overly complicated as the movie you just watched. Get that way every time. It's like discovering myself over and over again. Truly erotic... in some form or other. :P
5989845
You're forgetting the candy horse vaginas.
5990200
No I'm not... I just didn't mention them.
They're lumped in with unmentioned stuff.
5989845
Oh aye, and I've been right behind her the whole way. Can't make an omelet/eggs, etc. Everything is for the future, too much concern for the present is a selfish luxury, not a right.
5990070
Agreed. There's a chance for any experiment to end in tears, but that's what turns the wheels of the vehicle named progress. You do as much work as you can, put it together, try to make it stick and work, but in the end it's going to go one way or another. That's why it annoyed me when others criticized her for banking on a better tomorrow. It's not particularly her fault things went South. Just because hindsight says you could have done this or that doesn't even mean things would be better, since it just creates a new string of variables. Besides, it was an experiment with living ponies - the outcome is on them.
5990347 I'm actually an enormous Celly fan in this story. She is written so well!
"You will be known as"
I spotted a typno
5990347
Hmm, sounds familiar... there was another being that made an experiment that depended upon living ponies to calculate the results...
Hmm mmm hmm.
5991201
Yes, I know. I'm one of the few/(only) readers you have who actually understands what the Cosmicorn is doing for what it is rather than how they feel about it and doesn't spite him/her for it. It'd be hypocritical to do so considering we do the same thing. With other humans, with animals, with bacteria. We're obviously of the latter two compared to a being like that, so it's only natural really. Only a handful of people complain about this sort of thing when we do it. But when it's suggested it might be happening to sapient mortals who are similar to us, it seems we take personal offense.
Thus my earlier post on disliking the double standard most people seem to have when it comes to any more advanced being not viewing them as universally important in the face of a vastly more complex and important goal.
so not to
I find this funny considering Luna, Celestia, and Twilight did not have someone like this. Unless you count Rainbow, i forget when she fell for her, oh yeah, after the WAAAGH! Was declared
THe last scene gives an odd 'dinky is getting her cutie mark' vibe, when she already has one
.-.
Yes
6737997 As we have seen with one of the last Cutie Mark Crusader episodes, even if you DO have your Cutie Mark, you may not always fully understand how to best apply it. Just look at Muscles Pony, he thought all he was good for, was lifting heavy objects. Then he learned that he could teach OTHERS to lift heavy objects, and it made him happy. It gave him a more promising future.
Hell just look at Diamon Tiara as another great example. She had her Cutie Mark, but NOT a strong idea of how to use it to fulfill her Destiny. She didn't have a good idea of HOW she could properly apply it to a job or hobby
