Who wants a free pass ? You got a free pass ! Here, have a free pass ! Everyone will get a free pass !
Considering the epic size and scope of this, as well as your amazing work rate, I'm actually surprised that you didn't burn out sooner.
Leave the writing regulator turned down for a while, increase when it feels right but maybe don't run it as high as before.
Tech question time.
1) How did we get to diesel engines from a chainsaw, as far as I know (here in Oz anyway) chainsaws are still all 2 stroke gasoline?
2) Wouldn't running direct drive, like most gyrocopters, save on the weight of electric motor, generator & battery pack?

There are diesel chainsaws and the mirror travellers brought one into this world. Celestia gave it over for safe keeping.
At one point, just about every chainsaw was diesel powered. Things changed, gasoline engines were cheaper to manufacture. Gas engines were also lighter, making the chainsaw easier to handle.
For small and light gyrocopters, hybrids are a real thing! A tiny (50cc to 100ccs or so engines) can provide enough electricity to power a large, powerful electric motor. It sounds off, but you actually save weight by doing this. Volkswagen used this technology in their 300 mpg car, the Volkswagen XL1. It uses an 800cc diesel to power the electrical motor.
Huh, I forgot Sentinel was ascended. Damnit! I need to re-read this thing... I don't wanna do it!
7292725 old chainsaws ran off diesel.
Yay. It lives.
7292938 But not currently, too inefficient & not enough RPM.

Wrong!
There are lots of diesel chainsaws still available. In some applications, they are prefered.
Gas is a solvent and diesel is a lubricant. It also retards rust. A diesel chainsaw can sit for a long, long time and be just fine. A gas chainsaw, not so much. Diesel chainsaws can also be ran off of peanut oil, kerosene, used motor oil, or any number of other biofuels. Survivalists and preppers tend to go after diesel chainsaws because of this.
Echo, Solo, Comets, and of course there are many Chinese chainsaws that are diesel. Gasoline isn't as common in China, so the farmers tend to use whatever is available, which is why diesel engines are the prefered engine of choice. There is an amazing world outside of America and they use amazing machines that we never think of! Like Canada! Where diesel chainsaws are still fairly common and used as ice cutters, because water makes engines rust and diesel, as mentioned, keeps everything oily and retards rust.
Diesel chainsaws make use of something called 'gearing.' It too, is an amazing technology, so even an engine with seemingly low RPMs can still end up 10,000+ RPM to drive the chain. But gearing is heavy, yo, and expensive, and to be honest, most people are better served by a cheapo chainsaw that doesn't use all that fancy mathematics. Why heft a fifty pound chainsaw when you can get a five pound plastic fantastic piece of shit that is disposable? Who needs quality or craftsmanship, right?
7294515 Not here, not allowed to, EPA law forbids them.

Take your time and take care of yourself please; it would be hard _not_ getting burned out at the pace you were updating "The Chase" (not to mention your other stories.)
Every chapter is a gift as far as I'm concerned. Thank you for continuing this wonderful (epic) story!
just reading the stats on this and it says it's only the second longest story on fimfic. What's the longest then? Does anyone know?

This one. Bugged.
Whoever wrote this deserves respect. I haven't read it since it hasn't piqued my interest, but THIS IS A BIG-ASS STORY!!!
Props to the author for over 900 fucking chapters. No sarcasm at all. (Honest.)
7308758 he also writes other side stories to go along with it, and other stories on top of those.

Well spoke, Sentinel
7292596 And you get a pass! And you get a pass! *throwing slips of paper that have "free pass" written on them at random passersby. The impact is so intense that they all fly into walls*
