"How DARE you be right at me!"
Much is being pushed out into the open for the one who wields light.
Twilight is so right that it's not even funny.
Oh snap! Good job calling Celestia out Twi, I approve!
My god that was awesome and intense. She was furious even more cause she knows twilight is right xD
not entirely sure what to think about the idea they would even think about harming ponies though, the predator ponies. they may be predators but they are also ponies. why would they even begin to think about preying on other ponies? i cannot see where that would be triggered. it is basically an impulse for cannibalism, and that is something that really is rare in nature....... for good and bountiful reasons. well rare short of insect but those reasons still apply to them.
that is especially true for the kelpie here............ she preys on fish. why would she have impulses to feed upon a pony when her diet is primarily fish?
5103956
Chimps eat other chimps. Cannibalism happens in nature.
5103980 there is a larger difference between Happens and it being a natural course. chimps will eat other chimps only in moments of desperation....... unless you are mean they eat monkeys, which is something they are prone to do.
it is rarely a natural impulse for a creature to consume its own kind especially in mamalian species. a chimp's first thoguht at seeing another chimp won't be what they would taste like. hippos have been known to eat theri own dead but not because they want to, but because nothing else is available at those times.
mice mothers will kill and eat theri children if pressured, but only if pressured.
cannibalism happens but it is rare for it to be a natural impulse under stable circumstances. and the parasites and diseases give good credence to why a chimp's first reaction to seeing another chimp isn't how they would taste.
Level of told is off the scale.
5104029
Wrong on so many levels. Google chimp cannibalism. We studied it extensively in advanced psy. Also, cannibalism is a common survival strategy according to adaptive evolutionary biology. Humans do it too.
5104035
Our shields can't handle told of this magnitude!
Really now..... Maybe that's just A TINY BIT TOO DARK.
I like the CMC and Chrysalis. and FlufflePuff
well, nice how you're writing out the new Twi.
And I just noticed how big of a deal this train mission is.
I can tell shit will hit the fan soon...
5104066
Chrysalis really did do those things. Comics. I made it slightly worse for story purposes.
Well hello

5104082
Mentioned early in The Chase.
Oh man. That was an armor piercing question if I ever saw one.
And I'm pretty sure celestia would send Bucky to Tartarus in that scenario.
Now, I also want to side with Bucky on this train. It's insane. It is absolutely crazy. So it must be done. For science!
5104079
Well, didn't read the comic, maybe I should....
Stupid chinese app store and currency...
5104087
Which scenario specifically?
5104090
Google yayponies. One word.
5104096
Wow, thanks.
Didn't know this exists.
Uncalled for, Twilight. You can't blame Celestia for Sunset. Pushing her, sure - she made a mistake there. Sunset going evil and becoming a would-be conqueror was her own damned choice - it's not something anyone could have made for her. It would not have happened were it not already within her nature. She chose wrong, there were other ways to handle it. And when she chose wrong, she couldn't just be kept around. Would have had to chuck her in prison or kill her for the threat she posed
Instead she got off easy. "You get to live, and don't have to rot in a cell. Here's a whole new world. A second chance." Why does no one ever bother to see that? It's barely even a punishment. Sedition is always met with death, as it should be. Celestia evaded the law to provide Sunset with this second chance.
I don't see the point in everyone turning on Celestia like this. Her harmony magic is going to weaken if her friendships keep souring against her when she's just trying to do the best she can for everyone. Then they're all going to die when she can't use the full extent of her power to protect them, and it'll be their blasted fault for withering their friendships with her for petty things in the past that they choose to look at poorly.
Nevermind the fact that Twilight has her own concerns and doubts about Bucky, but instead blames Celestia for the same thing? The hell is even going on here.
So Twilight and Celestia, can't get over the fact that he traded his own mother? Think of it this way: His mother most likely never did a damn good thing in her life towards Bucky to be even called a mother. She even tried to murder him.
Things such has "family" and "parents" don't absolve you of being completely terrible. Especially when you don't act like it.
5104132
Don't worry, good things come of this.
5104046 did look that up a bit. though that is mostly infaticide. scientist reason that they are not killing to eat but killing to remove rivals and harm rival groups. so they are not killing for the sake of eating them. the eating part is the aftermath, not the intention.
its like with male lions. they will kill and eat the cubs of rivals but they do not naturally hunt for cubs, they are simply removing competition. they point is the removal of rivals, not eating.
what i was talking about was them targeting their own kind as food sources or even turning on members of their own group. this only occurs if they are starving. so it is not part of a chimp's instinct to kill another hcimp in order to eat, as it is no more for a lion.
5104149
Chimps go to war and eat one another.
5104133 he may have been a terror to bucky, but that does not mean she was one to everyone.
i remember an old adult cartoon that was meant to be a bit of a parody of god and such, but it had an itnersting premise. the rather nasty and hostile father of a main character in the show dies, yet does not go to hell. for while he never showed his son love, he wasn't a bad person.
his mother definitely far more of a terror than that but it far from means that she was a monster to every other pony in her life.
5104091 well... The one twilight is talking about.
I'm not saying that it would ever actually come to that but hypothetically speaking I think celestia would send him to Tartarus.
5104159
Manticore venom.
5104133
5104196
Just because we don't like her doesn't necessarily mean she deserved what she got. Kill her? Torture her? Sure. An eternity as the plaything of demons? Can you conceptualize infinity? It is forever - human minds can't even hold the scope of a full year in their mind, let alone a hundred or a thousand or a million or billions or more. Very few people deserve something like that, not even the ones I've studied up on torture techniques and created some of my own for just on the off-chance one of those evil bastards falls into my hands.
Maybe something like paying off her karmic debt over a century or two. But she is now doomed to an eternity of constant suffering, more than any slave she bought or sold, more than any pain she ever inflicted on Bucky, and even when her punishment exceeds a hundred thousand times worse than what everyone she's wronged has endured combined, it will not end like it did for them.
Celestia and Twilight are good ponies. They are right to be disgusted and disturbed. Bucky is not a good pony, and he will be the first one to tell you that. However... he made the only choice a father could in that situation, which keeps me from railing on him for it. Either his son stays trapped with demons, or he gives himself up to the demons for his son - leaving his family unprotected, essentially. Or toss in an evil old biddy who no one will necessarily miss.
Doing the right thing does not always mean doing the good thing. Bucky did a bad thing, but it was the right thing to do.
I feel Celestia and Twilight recognize this, but due to being good people they still find it completely fucked up and it shows how broken Bucky's head is. Also the fact he hasn't... tried to heal that part of his mind. He doesn't -want- his equinity back. Part of why they find it wrong, I'd wager, is that they care for Bucky and don't want to see his mind keep getting worse than it is.
5104153 they are killing to remove rivals. just so happens that the results leave something to eat.
that is kinda what i am talking about here. the chimps are not going to war because they are hungry. they are doing so to drive off rivals.
what is going on with thistle and sentinel is that they have impulses to hunt down and kill members of their own species for food. chimps kill chimps to remove rivals, the meat is simply a perk not the reason for the killing.
besides look at lions. believe it or not, short of cubs, they will not eat other lions they kill or even hyena or leopards. they are driven by an instinct that is telling them "This thing is in the way, get rid of it" and acting on it. they are outright carnivores but are not driven to eat everything they kill. though of course a particularly empty belly maybe convince it otherwise.
there are reports of lions eating other lions, but as i said they only do so if driven by desperation.
........ which means hcimps re way more fucked up in the head than lions............
5104206
THIS. Especially the last few lines.
5104217
I felt that was what you were going for in getting across.
5104216
Lions protect their own and raise their kids.
Humans and chimps are at least tangentially related.
Compare humans to lions.
Of COURSE chimps are fucked up.
5104206
I agree. Bucky recognizes the fact that he needs to stay broken the way he is. Old broken Bucky from chapter 1 could'nt posibbly prtoect anyone or even deal with what his body looks like now. He needs his partial insanity to make sure the rest of his sanity (anchored in his family and friends) can stay happy, together, and alive.
5104260
Even says so to Celestia on the porch in their little exchange.
Then there are the parts that scare Luna.
5104249 all i can say is the ponies would be far removed from out brand of madness. and that the cannibalistic impusles are kinda off kilter here. having a killing impulse, a predatory impulse, is a hcilling differences enough between them. however them having impulse sto kill fellow equine does not mesh at all from what i am seeing.
neither wolf nor lion actively eats their own species. true wolves are known to eat foxes and coyotes but they are far too different, to the point of having no possilbity of breeding between them. so why would sentinel be tempted to kill and eat a fellow pony?
5104206
I guess what set me off about Twilight and Celestia judging him is the usage of the word mother. Not so much what Bucky did.
Maybe if she did anything that could earn her the title then yeah call her a mother. I guess its one of those pet peeves when people use titles of significance like "mother", "family", to justify the bullshit these people do to their own kin, lessen the severity of what they've done or make someone look horrible for doing something to those titleholders.
5104279
Because. Lunar pegasi are corrupted twisted versions of the solar pegasi, made bestial and monstrous. They were meant to eat other ponies. Luna made them equines again because she has dominion over creatures of the night.
Kelpies look like ponies, but THEY ARE NOT PONIES.
5104279
I was just agreeing that chimps have to be fucked up if they're even slightly related to us.
That aside, have you never wondered what human tastes like? Even just one of those fleeting thoughts you have that you try to forget about? I think it's something any sapient carnivore would think about. No doubt humans dream about it from time to time, but since we forget far more than half of our dreams regardless of lucidity, no doubt we block it out or just don't remember that sort.
5104287
Mother in this case is just the colloquial term for "flesh bag that carried him around until he was born". Simpler that way. In the sense that she was -a mother- to Bucky, hell no. Celestia was Twilight and Bucky's mother. She earned that. Bucky's egg-donor earned getting her vagina broken by Berry.
5104305 difference than random morbid curisoity and an actual impulse to kill and eat someone, is its simple morbid curiuosity. i once wondered what shit tasted like but i am not about to try it.
5104295 .............. so they are orcs?
5104321
I once found out what shit tasted like. My insides ruptured. Was coughing up shit and blood.
5104330 ....... you are quite lucky to be alive right now and making this story.
"No disintegrations." that made my day.
5104330
The fact that you lived through something like that tells me that you are needed to do something! It maybe just the current story, it maybe something much more complicated. There is no way to tell. This is not a firm thing it is a feel and over the years I have learned to listen to them. this sounded much clearer in my head.
5104295 basically corrupted entities with a taste for sapient flesh, only made sane again.
guess a part of me thinks there owuld be a general taboo towards the consumption of sapient flesh. not cause merely morality, but because there would be no predicting what would happen with magic involved. one could reason the flesh being absorbed into the body could allow the soul of the one devoured to posses the creature that consumed them...... heck there are a few myths with beasts eting human flesh and becoming possessed by the deceased human.
5104330
Did it still have the digestive acid in it?
I can't help but have sympathy for Celestia being flawed. The amount of pressure from having everyone expecting you to be perfect kinda sucks.
Ten engines
Hmm, is Celestia angry because she knows Twilight is right?
...I can't help myself...
