Holy snap...
"Derpy, love, why the hay do I have wings?"
5037779
Bucky will never have wings. He only has them when he is dreaming and sees himself as he really is.
Oh Bucky. You know, I really love the Fates sometimes. And at others... We hates them.
Aaaaany ways. *salutes* No sign of Typo's, Knight Commander Kudzu. Permission to patrol other stories?
they
5037864
So... figured out what the Fates are doing yet?
5037970
... Nope! But I love and hate them anyways. Um not the type of reader who sits and tries to figure out where the author is going with something. I'm more the wait and see type. I mean, some things are obvious, of course, but then there's the things that make me go 'huh?' And I like that sort of thing. Because then I'm left imagining, and that is good for the soul. :)

Well, that answers my question about Celestia in the last chapter. I'm assuming He/She/It tells Celestia that the Avatar of War will bring an end to conflict, though anyone not being tricked by a god would know that something that gains its power from conflict would never want to end it.
5037199 With MAD, both sides had nukes. With Bucky and Equestria, it would be like if only the US had nukes, and the secret to how to make them wouldn't be steal-able or capture-able. They could just send Bucky to deal with any nation that tries to get uppity with them and there would be no way to defeat him.
It would appear to me that the Fates are trying to get Bucky on their side.
The Creator wants to wipe the world clean, start anew. And it looks like the Fates don't want that.
Yes Bucky let the milk flow through you. Muahahahaha, was good update, can't wait for the next.
This! Oh man, this.
... Maybe. Celestia, out of the two celestial sisters, is the one that admits fault more readily. Although, she may still be too assured of her own goodness... I am wondering if the fates are still being entirely on the level with Bucky. I don't think the mysterious alicorn lied to Bucky at all, but he left out stuff and was cagey as heck, whereas the Fates are very definite and certain sounding... which for future-predictors sorta brings up an alarm in my head.
5038422 It all comes down to the difference between destiny and fate.
Destiny is what is meant to happen, and Fate is what will happen. Bucky is destined to become the alicorn of war, but his agreement with the Fates means that it will not happen.
The problem here is that we don't know enough about the fates to determine exactly What their game plan is. But it seems as though they are trying to bolster his strength, and if something luna said in an earlier chapter is anything to go by, then I think I know WHY.
if i'm right then Celestia is in for a very rude awakening. and if I'm right then you are a very devious writer Kudz.....I applaud you.
5037970 for some reason i just htink these so caleld fates are full of it. cause, well........... if they were destined cutie marks would simply appear. rather than that happening a pony needs to have some form of event or encounter that allows them to discover themselves and often at a much deeper level than merely what they like to do or what they are good at. a moment of high emotion and self discovery. often enough they do not even notice their marks when they appear, but it is always, always during events and moments rather than simply awakening with a mark on their ass.
that is even true for your own bucky. he got his mark while drinking alcohol, finding joy and even some freedom from the taste, and thus his mark has a rather personal meaning to him to go along with his talent and hobbie....
when something is crafted rather than found, is it really destined or simply a creation of the moment? .......... perhaps they know this though and trying to ensure that truth remains the truth, maybe?
also four chapters....... four chapters in one day........ who boy.
"The fates are not our Allies,” Hera said, eyes narrow. “They are now, as they have always been, looking out for themselves only." - Hera from New Gods of Olympus
Okay, I like the light that you're painting the fates in, but I'm going to always, always remember the fact that in every, single, confrontation the Fates have done what they deemed necessary to get what they wanted. That they reveled in using mortals as puppets. Macbeth, the Odyssey, The Dresden Files, Hellblazer, and countless other stories have pointed out one certain truth. The Fates do what the Fates must for what they perceive to be the right course.
They have no trouble muddling words, telling half truths, or offering favors in order to get what they want. They are a force of nature. In the end they exist to ensure that their predictions continue. If someone powerful enough comes along that can withstand them, and does, they attempt to find someone who is nearly as powerful, or more clever, and send them to stop them.
It is their nature, and it is their nature to think lowly of mortals. For mortals are but pawns. Actually... i'm going to quote Dr. Manhattan here.
"We're all puppets, Laurie. I'm just a puppet who can see the strings."
What better way of summing up Bucky's relationship to the fates?
A very abstract chapter, I like it. My interpretation of what happened is that, The fates showed Bucky his fate and the future of his children? I most likely am not anywhere close though, I've had 3 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours and did my regular exercises... I'm exhausted.
5037970 either way it seems that the fates are intent on more or less preventing the destruction of the world from what i see. not entirely sure if you take the whole destiny thing to heart or are having it that the fates are using a kind of reverse psychology, making bucky want to fight it more is not clear to me.
the reasoning for it is in question though. is it because they are tired of the savage cycle going on here, or is it that without mortals they have no purpose? if the cycle is prevented what would happen to the creators? and why is celestia so blind in this situation to begin with?
............ i do have sorta an issue overall though. ultimately you are basically depicting bucky as more important than the characters from the show. he is either the destroyer or the one to stop the bloody cycle, one or the other. that is an extremely dangerous road to walk though, as it is often considered the original characters of the series take presidence over the fan created ones.
however so far you have avoided one of the major traps; making the character some mary sue type character and hyper competent simply for the sake of hyper-competency. bucky struggled and tore for what he has now and function more towards something that rivals twilight and her friends at the moment, least from what i saw. and he has plenty of personality flaws and internal struggles. still Bucky being more cosmically important than them is a bit disconcerting, though as i said it is more balanced out by his efforts and conflicts in comparison to just saying he is more important. good work with that.

It seems to me that Celestia has the ability to turn Bucky into an Alicorn if she wanted to, but she's holding back at Bucky's request. I wonder if Mr. Creator pony will go as far add to tell Celestia to make Bucky an Alicorn anyway, against Bucky's wishes. Would he/ she/ it become that desperate?
5038817
Is anything ever as it appears to be?
5038638
Bucky and Dr. Manhattan have something in common.
Gaaah Das Cliffhanger!
OK, that's verging on divine incest.
i really need to have a "chase" with the story chapters
Awesome chapter~
hehehee
5038051 Oooooh jeebus XD
I was conflicted for a while on the subject of Bucky's ascendance. I'm glad that's cleared up.
Fighting with yourself feels odd.
I'm just gonna call those three - the Fates - Deus, Ex, and Machina. That's basically what they are.

isnt that comment a MASSIVE spoiler? it could also just be a lie but still..........either way it feels bad.
