Twilight Sparkle’s coronation was supposed to be a triumphant celebration, but in a single moment, everything went wrong. An unknown poison attack left the newly crowned princess in a coma, and when she finally opens her eyes, the Equestria she knew is gone.

Ruling over this twisted new order is Daybreaker, a fiery, tyrannical incarnation of Celestia. Though her grip on the realm is merciless, Daybreaker’s attitude toward Twilight is unsettlingly tender, overprotective, flirtatious, and suspiciously fixated on keeping Twilight at her side.

As Twilight tries to balance Daybreaker’s unnerving care with the ruthless reality of her rule, one burning question remains: Can Twilight somehow bring her beloved mentor back, or is Celestia forever lost behind Daybreaker’s blazing eyes? And what is behind this uncharacteristic behavior that hints at a secret Daybreaker may be desperate to hide?

Note: Set after the season 3 finale. This AU splits off from the canon from the Royal Wedding onwards. Chrysalis never attacked and Discord is still in stone.

The time of Nightmare Moon's return draws ever closer, and Celestia knows it's only a matter of time before she'll have to confront her sister again. After losing touch with the elements, and the many years spent apart weighing on her, Celestia isn't entirely sure she can handle Nightmare Moon's return on her own. So, with the help of her most trusted student: Sunset Shimmer, and her adopted daughter: Cadence, Celestia is determined to bring up a new generation of magical scholars and warriors. Hoping to be her best bet against Nightmare Moon's return.

Many things are different in this world, and many lives have changed from one incident not happening the way it did in other worlds. Despite that set-back, ponies lives continue and flourish, and change in un-expected ways.

Ghosts, werewolves, mad scientists, cultists, mutants, zombies, vampires, aliens and more lie in wait in the dark corners of Equestria, terrorizing the night. But the most infamous and dangerous of them all is the legendary witch Twilight Sparkle, with a five hundred million bit bounty on her head.

Seeking fame and fortune, Rainbow Dash sets out to defeat the legendary witch and collect the massive reward. The one thing she wasn't counting on was Twilight being less evil than she expected.
