Finding Friendship Cancelation Announcement. · 3:26am Dec 28th, 2022
Hello everyone, I hope your winter holidays were enjoyable.
Let's not beat around the bush too much, seeing how this blog's title is likely a bit upsetting for a few people. And truth be told I'm not happy to be posting this either. But my mind is already made up, and I said last time that I'd let you all know when a decision was made. Better to be upfront and honest about this, y'know? I've spent a fair chunk of time thinking things over as I've steadily improved my mental health since the last update (I'm doing much better now, if you were curious), and I think that it's time.
So the story is, unfortunately, canceled. As I mentioned in the previous update, I ended up going with a series of things in the story that, upon reflection, I regret going with. I feel I handled a few moments/plot points very poorly, which resulted in later moments/plot points suffering to facilitate them. And this ended up spiraling out of control until the most recent few chapters where I was having trouble even moving the story along in what I felt was a natural way. Even now, looking back on where I left off after a few months' break, I'm still not sure how exactly I want to follow it all up. So I've simply decided to simply move on.
That said, in the previous blog I did briefly mention the possibility of me rewriting/rebooting the story, and that possibility is still on the table. I had some good ideas here, and I don't want to just throw them away outright. So there's a possibility that the next thing I write will, if nothing else, incorporate some of the ideas used in Finding Friendship. I don't have anything in the works yet, but the possibility is there at least (though not anytime soon, I recon). If that's of any consolation to you guys.
One last thing, I'd like to take a minute to once again thank Skijaramaz for all of his assistance in the latter half of me writing FF. The guy's an absolute legend for putting up with me and my BS for as long as he did, and his assistance in editing and other things has helped to make me a better writer overall. The guy's absolutely great, and I'd recommend checking out his page on this site or going to his YouTube if you get the chance. Great content. 100% Worth it.

This is sad to hear, but not entirely unexpected. I'll be keeping my eyes open for any new projects from you!
It’s sad to see a good story die, but it’s far from the first and it won’t be the last, sometimes it just doesn’t work out. And I really do appreciate you telling us and changing the story status to “canceled”, too many authors just abandon their stories and leave them as “unfinished” without saying a word about it.
It is disappointing, but as a writer, I know it do be that way sometimes. Not every story that gets started is destined to get seen through to completion for whatever reason, and sometimes it's better to just let it happen and move on to more promising prospects, so I hope that's what you'll be able to do here.
