Train Dodger

I like 'em dark. I write 'em darker.

I'm Train Dodger. No, I don't dodge trains in real life. That's stupid. I'm from the general Seattle area, but I just say that because I don't want people to know I'm from Kitsap, a.k.a. the methamphetamine capital of the world. It's also that place where they filmed the remake of Walking Tall with The Rock, and home to the developers of Dwarf Fortress. Incidentally, living on the Kitsap Peninsula is kind of like playing a game of Dwarf Fortress, so I can see where they got the inspiration. Don't do as the MxPx song says. Never move to Bremerton. The people here, they don't die. They just kind of fade away, like Marty's family photo in Back to the Future. This place will become your phylactery if you move here.

I'm a simple individual. I like firearms, and smoked meats, and lifted redneck pickup trucks, as long as I'm behind the wheel of one and I'm not driving in front of some jackass with fifteen fog lamps and feel like I'm about to be abducted by a UFO, which is a common occurrence where I'm from. I'm also a military tech nut. As in, I read journals and white papers about defense procurement because I'm always curious as to what tanks, bombs and aircraft the world's militaries are buying. I'm also an anarchist and a pacifist and generally despise war and violence as tremendous wastes of money and resources. Figure that out.

I used to watch The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab and Samurai Jack on CN. Naturally, what originally got me interested in MLP G4 was hearing of Lauren Faust and Tara Strong's involvement. Watching FiM explode into a wide-ranging internet phenomenon was surreal, and naturally, I got caught up in it, too. I was going through a hard time with some family troubles in late 2012, and I needed something to cheer me up, so I started watching the show, and it was brilliant. Really lifted my spirits.

So, why would I take such an innocent, upbeat show and write gloomy darkfics based around it? Well, that's for me to know, and you to find out.

Thanks! I like your stuff, too, by the way. Viruses of Harmony and Life is Magic are awesome, in their own eerie way. :twilightblush:

I don't know where this been hiding up until now, but if you're bio is anything to go by, I think you and I are gonna get along just fine.

EDIT: I meant to put this comment on Revanchism, but I suppose this is fine too.

I've been following a bunch of authors (and a few commentators) lately whose work I think is exceptional and worthy of attention. :twilightblush:

Spectrum of Lightning looks very interesting and I've put it on my reading list. Not many fics center on Twilight Velvet. That's a pretty unique choice. I like it.
