Pony Warfare

For armchair generals, warmongers, and bronies who just like the idea of ponies fighting. Because we cannot resist looking at our beautiful, magical land of talking ponies and secretly wishing it was on fire.

Stories are roughly categorized by weaponry used:

Swords and Spells – Typical fantasy setting predating or precluding firearms.
Blunderbusses and Bayonets – Primitive guns exist, but melee combat is still decisive.
Rifles and Rockets – Standard modern military gear present.
Lasers and Lightsabers – Futuristic sci-fi weapons, feasibility optional.
Pies and Party Cannons – For cartoon or non-lethal violence.

Membership is open, and anypony can contribute stories to the list. Just make sure it has plenty of large-scale violence! Also, PLEASE SORT a story into the appropriate folder if you decide to add to the archive.

So, see you on the battlefield! And if you happen to trot on a mine, remember to jump two hundred feet into the air and scatter yourself over a wide area!

Thought of a cool idea that I would never be able to do because I suck at writing stories.
So first off: Instead of 3 tribes, its 6 tribes. I can`t remember the name of the author that did it, but theirs six tribes: Earth Pony, Pegasus, Unicorn, Sea Pony, Deer, and Thestral. Secondly, screw the normal lifespans(From shortest to longest Lifespans)
Pegasus-200 yrs
Unicorn-400 yrs
Earth Pony- 600 yrs
Deer- 800 yrs
Sea Pony- 1000 yrs
Thestral- Ageless(Just like the Alicorns)
(So pretty much all of the main 6 are one of the tribes)
Thirdly, every season(At least up to season 4, cuz I stopped watching after 4) is a war.
First season is about defeating Nightmare Moon(Reign for about 10 yrs). Second is about defeating Discord(Reign for about 20-40 yrs) and maybe making Chrysalis a side(but still important) villain and so forth, but of course this doesnt just happen one after the other leave maybe about 5 years of peace in between each season. And with these constant wars, the country is kind of set up like a RPG game. What do I mean? Well Towns and Cities are safety, you will be attacked by monsters outside of towns and cities. But their is still small outposts along the paths so you can rest and resupply. And all the while Twilight and her friends become just the ultimate badasses throughout the series. Just a random idea.

Quick question. I have a story that needs some help, specifically ideas on how pegasi can fight in an air to air engagement. I'm thinking in terms of bladed weapons, but I'm having trouble with the concept of just how that would work.

Question: story with cannons, but not muskets. Which folder?

I just love a good military AU story, what can I say?

Just joined the group, and this speaks to me, it really does

That’s why I chose the Wirbelwind. It is not fully enclosed.

Who would win: 12-24 unarmored, but very quick and manoeuvrable infantry with pistols and swords, or 4-8 tanks, with 4 20mm cannons firing 800 rounds a minute each?

To be fair, the pegasi would be very difficult to hit: they are much smaller than a plane and can turn on a much faster than one. However, one can assume that they are also slower than one. Additionally, the Wirbelwind's four 2 cm Flak 38 had a magazine capacity of only 20 rounds, and thus they had to be reloaded every six seconds when firing. This leads to a rate of fire of about 800 rounds a minute (about 13 rounds a second), which does not help when trying to hit a target as small and manoeuvrable as a pegasus.

The pegasi would also be outnumbered: each Wirbelwind had a crew of five men, meaning that the 12-24 pegasi would be facing 20-40 SPAA crewmen. I do not know if german SPAA crews had pistols or some other form of personal defence during the second world war, but just keep in mind that if they did, they would probably be able to fight back if the pegasi got close enough that trying to track them with the MGs became impractical.

Keep in mind that the only reason the pegasi have a chance of winning is because the Wirbelwind is not fully enclosed; something like the Kugelblitz would be difficult to harm with wingblades and pistols.

Who would win:
A small group (4 to 8 vehicles) of German SPAA, such as the Wirbelwind (open top)

or a squadron (12 to 24 pegasi) of pegasi armed with wingblades and pistols (modified so that they can be wielded by a hoof)?

My favorite quote from a mlp fanfic
"this wall needs a mural"
If that doesn't give it away, war, war never changes.

my favorite quote from a MLP FanFic:
"We Feel, We Love, We Live"

from the FF "Night Mares", which i can not praise enough.
also apparently a new chapter is almost ready for release.

Make Peace, not War.

I have a Idea for a story Mongol hordes they can be Human or any other race from the show I for one would love a Mongol horde led by Spike. But you can chose how you want it. But Equestria most be Conquered by the Mongols and Celestia, Luna, and the other two must bow to the Great KHAN. Good luck

How can I have my story on here?

Okay I actually have a very unique situation involving your folder categories. My story uses primitive and fantasy magic, medieval weaponry, weaponry from our time, and futuristic weaponry. I have absolutely no idea where to put it, so I would like some help on where to put it.

This group is going to explode with stories after that finale! :pinkiehappy:

I'm looking a editor for my fic. It's about a war between humans and pony, with the last hope in hands of one man. Interested send a PM.

I've started a group on Fimfiction called the Tournament of Canterlot where authors can submit their stories and then try to get their followers to sponsor them by donating to Oxfam’s Syria appeal. At the end of 2015, the stories who’ve gained the most sponsorship share in cash prizes up to $5,000, depending on how much is raised.

There’s also a place for musicians, voice actors and other brony artists to offer prizes for specialized criteria such as the story with the best villain or the best shipping; motivating authors to advertise their stories/ the tournament, therefore raising more money for the Syrian Refugees.
