Jonathan was a human. That is until he woke up as a pony, in Canterlot. A magical alicorn pony... He is not particularly happy about that last one.

Description edited June 7, 2024.
Expect very slow updates. Might have an editor now. Will likely edit and modify old chapters slightly, but not to the extent of neglecting new content.

Story was almost cancelled, but then I realised that I still wanted to keep writing just a little further.
Just some forewarning though. This story is not for everyone. It is a slow-burn slice-of-life which lacks much serious threat. There is no big villain, and the storyline progresses quite slowly and you may get bored.
I am still new-ish to writing, so the writing quality (especially surrounding characters and dialogue) may leave something to be desired.

A story about someone with limited knowledge of the show, (basic facts on a small scale, no timeline stuff) wakes up as an alicorn (early-teen) in Canterlot. He is not happy about this fact.

General info:
No, they do not have OP alicorn powers. Yes, he is sort-of a foal, but not of baby age and this will not affect his personality or emotional-capacity in any way.
Gender swapping? No, I asked in the comments, people want a male alicorn.
Will this impact my other story (Clouds)? Probably, depends on if people want me to continue it or not.

Rating was changed from [E] to [T]. Don't expect content to change too much, it's mostly a precaution, but I will try to keep the story as close to [E] as I can for now. Change was made after Ch:11.

A thestral awakens in the Everfree forest after being subject to a deep dreadful darkness. Once found, our hero discovers the world is under an eternal night sky, and Nightmare Moon queen of the lands has driven a line amongst the various pony tribes. Now a rebellion looms, and politics are thick with corruption and fear. In a world clad in stars, what hope can there be for the ever waiting dawn?

Or will shadow consume shadows and let darkness reign forevermore. It doesn't always take a hero, sometimes it takes something more.

A few weeks have passed after Nightmare Moon's defeat and Princess Luna's freedom and she has returned to Equestria to rule once more by her sister Celestia's side. However, a mysterious young griffon is discovered, and the questions about this young unknown griffon grow as Celestia and many others try to find out how and where he came from.

No solid answers come and communicating with the young griffon is going to be more of a challenge then they could believe.

(The one rule is revealed in Chapter Six. If you wish to be spoiled, reveal the spoiler, but if not, read to Chapter Six. Also, if there is a better way of wording this, please let me know.)

The one rule is: Letting someone hold the Griffon's (Young one's) plush and returning it to him is for him to have absolute trust in someone without the need for words.

On a regular night of rebelliousness, a colt and a filly come across a strange, dangerous creature. After the later is eaten, the former is injured, leading to a change he couldn't predict. Now stuck living as a creature from old mare's tales, the young colt must leave everything he knew behind, including morals he once held himself to. Meanwhile, an aging mordigan is stuck without an heir, or even a loved one. His searching brings himself to a new land, one from legends.

This story was partially inspired by DisneyFanatic2356's story Precious Blood, a true masterpiece and by far my favorite DisneyFanatic story.

Part of the HoE storyline.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, FEATURED 8/4/22 at the expense of only a few remaining brain cells!
Additional tags include sad, trauma, horror, and drama. Also, some may consider it self-harm, but not in the physical sense, so that won't be added.

Hell yeah, Featured again on 7/8/23! This is incredible! Thank you all so much for an amazing repeat of history!

If called upon by a ritual -
most demonic beings follow the call.
And on the other side of the magic stands -
a human being, in a trance.
Their wish will be heard and fulfilled for a price -
in exchange for a soul, demons play nice.

When a desperate person calls out into the void - what happens when the void stares back?
Lily Potter is a strong woman, but in the face of almost certain death, even someone like her can come to the conclusion to fight fire with fire, and call upon a demon to fight the inhuman Dark Lord tearing down her home.

Once called, Nightmare takes on Harry as her child... this doesn't bode well for the sanity of everyone else involved, especially once she finds a very special letter addressed at herself years later.

Disclaimer:
The Nightmare in this story is a (far) future version of the Nightmare found in my other story.
The 'Sex' tag is for roughly two sentences implying it in a chapter near the middle (hence this story's rating).
The 'Death' tag is for, well, the death of Harry's parents.

Chapters (40)
T

Ganondorf, King of Thieves, Lord of Darkness, Master of Evil and Wielder of the Triforce of Power, had long since grown thoroughly and completely bored with the path the gods had decreed for his destiny.

Time after time it was always the same, try and unite the Triforce, plunge the world into darkness for a time, search out and then kidnap Princess Zelda, watch his minions be defeated one after another and then finally battle Link for supremacy. Rinse and repeat.

All the while knowing that regardless of winning or losing, that no matter what he did or didn’t do, that in the end everything would end up repeating itself in another time and place afterwards, again, and again and again, in an utterly pointless never ending cycle.

Having decided that enough was finally enough, and refusing to continue to be a simple pawn at the hands of the gods, he vowed he would find a way to escape from his cumbersome destiny, a way to start anew far beyond the meddling grasp of the gods, a way to reach a realm upon which he could be the master of his own fate.

And after years of careful planning he had finally succeeded.

Sure, the fact he had to drag the know-it-all Princess and the green obsessed Hero along for the ride for his plan to work was a minor inconvenience, but he knew that sometimes sacrifices had to be made. And the fact that this new realm apparently decided to turn him and his two unwilling companions into miniature pastel colored ponies upon arrival also wasn’t exactly part of the plan, but he could cope.

After all, that was a negligible price to pay in achieving his deepest wish: freedom.

In this story Ganondorf, having grown sick of following through the motions his destiny placed before him as the eternal bad guy to be defeated time after time, seeks out to escape from his fate by breaking through the void between dimensions and running away from Hyrule to another realm entirely, Equestria, all the while dragging both Link and Zelda along for the ride.

Arriving long before the founding of the country, back before the events of Heart’s Warming Eve and at the highest point of the conflict between the Three Tribes, he and his two new companions will have to deal with a whole new world and it’s wonders and dangers. All the while this new magical world will have to learn to deal with its three new strange inhabitants in kind.

Just a warning: This is NOT a Displaced fic. All three main characters are the actual characters from the Zelda series that have been taken to Equestria due to Ganondorf’s master plan, and not humans turned into them.

One day, while Danny was in his parents' lab, a freak accident occurs with the Fenton Portal that ends up sending him to Equestria. Not only that, but he's a pony too. Now, he must find a way home while helping Twilight and her friends out, battle ghosts, and keep ponies from finding out about his superhero identity at the same time.

I made this story for artistmans. The cover art was made by them.

Thanks for the feature, even if it was temporary! :pinkiehappy:

I got dragged to Equestria by pure accident due to an experiment gone 'wrong', roughly forty years before Nightmare Moons' arrival.
No matter what I do, as a pony-changeling hybrid, something will change with Equestria. I just hope I don't doom the country before Nightmare Moon even arrives... Or worse.

This is the first story I ever tried to write professionally, so there WILL be errors, for that, I apologize in advance.
I'm editing and proofreading it on my own because I literally suck when it comes to using this site competently.
Lastly, I am a slow writer due to IRL getting in the way but I will try my hardest to settle the story down whether it's popular or not.

Fair warning, there may be spoilers in the comments.

Thank you to Little Tigress for the fantastic cover art.
