They are.
And yes, that is true about security--but technically, its after school and in the parking lot. Sunset is within rights and rules to show up and offer a ride to a friend. During school hours would be different (hence why Luna accompanied her before), and if she was actually trying to access the campus I could see that, but parking lots....they're kind of this neutral zone. You cant call the cops on someone for pulling into the parking lot if its an open lot, without some kind of access restriction.
To be fair, the loft is a private place. Sunset's place. No parental supervision, no real wall sharing neighbors, since its a standalone building. Plus...Sunset doesnt have a lot of the human hang ups on sex. Her issue was about intimacy, and she's made her choice, so...

A lot of people would agree with you, lol

*cackles*

No worries! Completely reasonable misunderstanding! :}
Glad you like the story though!
11847522
lol. Twilight is taking her sweet ass time, isnt she?
Though to be fair, I didn't come out to my mother as queer until about 5 years ago. I was in my thirties. Some people just take longer.

Ah yes, Discount Pony Hulk. There was a hint of that, because it does suggest (as do a few other episodes) that Fluttershy does have some incredibly deep negative emotions that crop up in extreme situations. (Like Dragonshy, or the Episode with her brother, or the comic book episode, or the episode with Iron Will.) In this case, I tied those deep emotions to her friendships, and to her connection to animals. Ergo, Flutter-Bear.
Oh, Cinch has gone and incited the wrath of the Two Sisters.
She should thank her paltry master that she didn't incur the Princesses' wrath.
Wth this is creepy af
I feel, just in case, there should be an announcement to all CHS staff and students not to give out Sunset's name or location if anyone comes across CPA staff or students. Celestia would make it item number one on the next staff meeting. And I doubt any of the student body would want to give up Sunset's details out of spite, but might do it accidentally.
The curious thing is... there is someone at CPA willing to give up Sunset's name with no problem at all: Wallflower Blush. Twilight and Indigo obviously won't, at least not intentionally, but Wallflower would gladly do it as she kinda despises Sunset.
Kinda hard for Sunset to explain how she knew about the name thing. I mean, in this situation, magic may be one thing, but hearing voices, especially ones that may or may not be your demonic dark side? That kinda goes towards crazytown.
Mwhahahaha! Celestia takes shit from no one on her turf. I know the law and how to use it. It was enjoyable. Now I'm wondering if Sunset Shimmer is Sunset’s true name. Also, Abacus is getting slooooooppy in her desperation.
Sunset should start paying a bit more attention to what her super Ego is talking about by now.
"Yes, i did that to protect you" can't get much more direct than that.
I mean the games were always going to be a mess. Does Cinch even get any tactical benefit from having a bunch of her students present? It seems like it would be easier to just ambush Sunset in the parking lot and not have to deal with an entire other school. Canterlot itself obviously isn't much of a target for her since the Games have been presumably normal in prior years (in fact what does Cinch even get out of them normally?).
Cinch seriously needs to touch some grass and go fuck herself. What kind of school principal sends their students to stalk another student from a rival school?!
I really hope this whole "name" thing gets back to Cranky. While a few others might remember enough family stories about the Fey, Cranky seems to the one with lived experience about things like this.
The joke that ADHD is because some fey asked its sufferers if they "could have their attention" one day and they said "sure" when they were children keep running though my head though out this chapter. That is the level of power some fey work at in fiction and legend. These ones are seemed to have been there at one point, but have been reduced quite a lot.

One whose miserable life is on the line.
Can't say I'm surprised Cinch has more or less dropped any pretext of subtlety, considering that she's on the verge of being ripped apart by the Shadows.
I love just how much of a solid unit the Canterlot High kids have become. Friendship is magic for sure. Bring on the games.
Sunsets slowly piecing things together at least faster than Cinch is on her end. Obviously, Sunsets having an increasingly hard time with the demon, sounds like shes still not on board with the whole 'ying-yang' thing.
"May I have your name?"
"Mmm, yeah, Ritenleft."
"And your last name?"
"Hooks..."
11851411
Yet...
wait, true name for magical beings and they say the sunset is a succubus.
also sunset u should maybe listen to stupid little voice about fixing your self-loathing thoughts
11851411
I'm not sure the princesses being pissed could outdo humans being pissed. I mean, yeah, raw power, maybe, but...."Behold, Humanity!" Pissed off humans are...creatively violent and violently creative.
11851421
*ominous music*
To be fair, it was supposed to be creepy and unsettling in the worst way.
11851428
Celestia making an announcement couldnt move faster than the school grapevine. Nothing is faster than the speed of light except gossip, after all.
And yes, Wallflower IS a liability.
Hearing voices is not considered sane, no. And telling others, "So That demon I turned into at homecoming might be a voice in my head now. It seems to have given up on world domination for the moment and is more interested in me getting laid" is not going to go over well, as far as Sunset is concerned.
11851436
Look, Principal Celestia is still a Celestia, and someone like that has fire and steel in them.
Is Sunset her True Name? Does she even have a True Name? Up for debate, I suppose.
11851478
Fear is not rational.
11851497
Mmm. It depends on the identities of the students. How many are just teens...versus how many are disguised fae or possessed by demonic shadows, for example. How many are snackrifices? >.> Guess we'll see.
11851513
I'm not sure touching grass would help. Cinch is a tyrannical fae from a bygone era who is accustomed to being absolute ruler of that pit of torture and misery which is their domain, and being denied makes them angry. Couple that with their master threatening their existence and reminding them of their shackles, and they are throwing everything into a desperate gamble with little other option.
:P
11851585
Indeed. Something seems to have reduced the fae here below their much legendary skills and abilities, left them but a shell of themselves and their power. Even the Master thinks so.
11851724
Fear is a powerful motivator.
11851769
Nothing makes humans get along faster than a common enemy to hate. By now the word is out: CPA = Dark Magic going on.
11851807
Some lessons take longer than others.
11851848
*snickers*
I would also have accepted:
"Kees."
"And your last name?"
"Myass."
11852030
Mmm. They did say that.
Interesting, isnt it?
11855841
"Sook Madeek"
"Fook Affe"
"Eita Kauke"
"Yura Beech"
Plenty of good ones. All give the same message.
11857502
Everyone is, of course, allowed to have an opinion and their own feelings on things. I am a little confused, however, how you think this was the immersion breaking leap, when the whole story has had a more....mature and...I don't want to say darker, but at least darker than the original source material tone. Sunset is quite literally transformed in a painful fashion into a demon in the prologue, she and Twilight meet in an altercation with would-be-rapists in one of the early chapters (a situation that colors Twilight's behavior, responses, and even Sunset's actions to an extent throughout the entire rest of the story), and the sirens effectively mind-rape the school in a more sinister take on Rainbow Rocks that leaves a number of the staff and students messed up to the point that a number of the staff RESIGN in the middle of the school year. Just...sort of puzzles me why you believe that the implication of Cinch being a fae with nefarious goals is an extreme jump of tone.
11857509
Mm. It seems that you may have missed the point of the chapter when I mostly choose to relegate the details of Sunset's various nightmares over the course of the entire story to mentions, bits, pieces, and the aftermath.
11857515
While I can agree with you about "surprise arbitrary trauma," in this case, you are applying the concept inappropriately. Sunset has been fucked up mentally since the first word of the story, and that has never been concealed. Between persistent nightmares from the very night of the formal that factor heavily into the reason she and Twilight have their very first sleepover and continue being an on-off issue for Sunset over most of a million words, the traumatic meltdown she has in the bathroom in front of Principal Celestia which leads to the two admin sisters learning her history and speculating on it, and half a dozen or more other incidents even before the Rainbow Rocks plot, plus how fucked her internal narrative becomes for the Rainbow Rocks arc, we have never hidden the fact that Sunset's head is a pretty messy place, and that she has a lot of healing to do.
Which she is doing, but slowly, because people don't get better overnight, and requires a lot of help and support. (And...you know, less monsters, magic, and mayhem.)
Finally, in regard to all of your comments...I have some things that I feel I need to say. First, as I noted very early on in the story, the exploration of Sunset's psychology is a key part of the narrative, because it is about her healing and redemption. If you are not a fan of exploring the mind of a character in depth, then I fear you will not enjoy the story as a whole, nor any of the ones tied into it. Secondly, as with the psychological deep dive, the nature of the story is more serious--while there's plenty of light fluff and feel good character moments and silly jokes, the overall plot is going to follow much more of an urban fantasy/mature magical girls vibe than it is something targeting a TV Y-7 demographic. Given that, I will be honest and fair enough here to give you a heads up that if you did not like the aforementioned story elements thus far, you are probably not going to enjoy yourself all that much going forward.
And if that turns out to be the case, that's okay. Not every story is for every person, and I do appreciate you sticking with it this long.
