excellent, some good studying downtime before (presumably) more shenanigans explode in their faces
and oh dear, human magical history... there's a good deal of human magic that should remain hidden for the sake of everyone
but there's also a lot that'd be really interesting to uncover and explore, and who knows, it may even end up helpful!
nice chapter break before more shenanigans happen.
I feel like Sunset is discounting the variety of human religious experience. There is huge variation in religions, ranging from the proselytizing character of Christianity to the cyclic worldview of Hinduism to the mysticism of Gnosticism to the reconstructive attitude of Neo-Paganism to syncretic nature of Voodoo. In addition, to many religious people, they absolutely perceive the forces they believe in as real. It's true that ponies can see Celestia raise the sun. But if it was only a ceremony without actually impacting the sun, I doubt that it would have an observable impact in the behavior of Equestria.
Don't give yourself a headache Sunny, it's not good for studying.
Also, I have a feeling we got a few Chevok's Guns in this chapter.
I can't wait to binge read everything I've missed.
Just a calm chapter, which i enjoy. It serves as a nice break from chaos and I love the world building and how in Sunset’s head we get. Can’t wait for more :>

“Hey, where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?” —Pinkie, probably.

Not…really. Human religion, as bizarre and varied as it can be, is still religion. Gods, godlike entities, powerful spirits, ancestor ghosts, loa and orisha, even beings like the Buddha have certain things in common with each other. One of which is that much of what people BELIEVE about them is not empirical factual data that can be proven. Thats why its called “faith.” Even if some of the mythical figures of various religions were born from real people who lived real lives, many of them were so long ago that all we have are myths and stories, things that are very hard to prove. Jesus doesnt televangelize on cable TV. Bwonsambdi isnt personally accepting cigars and booze outside of a New Orleans Cemetary. Coyote isnt tricking people on an Arizona highway. The Buddha isnt teaching philosophy at a university. Vishnu isnt running the Indian government. These figures are not just real, tangible people you can strike up a conversation with. So researching them from an intellectual standpoint is quickly going to showcase just how much of the religious experience (regardless of which belief system you follow) is based n believing what you are told is inherently true without hard proof. Thats not necessarily bad, but in Rubicon, its not how ponies do things, and part of that is for a few simple reasons. Among them is that Celestia has actively discouraged worship and reverence. Couple that with visibility, and it removes the mystery. Part of it is because ponies all have their own magic, and while yeah, Princess Celestia is capable of managing the heavens, in the past, before her, it was done by groups of unicorns—everyday mortal, normal ponies, and the pegasi control/guide Equestria’s weather. To them, magical phenomena arent phenomenal. Theyre banal, mundane. And lastly, pony culture in Rubicon has gone through a number of devastating upheavals in the last 7-8 thousand years, which erased most of their ancient past and instilled a sense of live for today and tomorrow, rather than fixating on yesteryear, and on the living not the dead.
At the end of the day, it really is all summed up as the conditions that lead to human religions cropping up are not present in pony society anywhere as strongly, if at all. They are a very different species, culture, and with a drastically different history and psychology. They have their own legends, superstitions, and beliefs, but thEy arent human ones, and for a pony like Sunset who also suffers from the perspective of possessing a hyper-intellect on top of being the outsider, that perspective is even more disconnected.

Sunset’s head is a weird place.
I had a typography class my second year of college for graphic design. The modern typed alphabet is actually quite elegant if you break it down, especially the lower case. The pattern of letter line repetition makes it easier to write even if you don't notice. For example, look at the letter relationships. f,h,k are all built of l. q,g,a,c,b,p,u are all built of off o. And so on.
Boring? Not at all. I found it quite informative.
Name dropping "Minoan" might've made me think Sunset was dealing with ancient Greek texts and and not minotaur ones. But considering she research minotaur defense against magic. The latter makes more sense.
