Thanks for the chapter! It was so sweet!
Please retcon Anon a miss, so now onto Friendship Games? possibly forgotten friendship
More build up to the games, and possibly more hitting at Sunset's homesickness as well as Twi's family issues after her explosion, please.
Because if a certain comic pops it's ugly head up after this chapter, I think there might be riots.

I think you might be getting the wrong idea. The story will still have this nice mix of intense plot and "slice of life"-y chapters with the interpersonal relationships between the characters being important. Its just that...the bad guys for arc two are...unmistakably evil. Like...not misguided, not misunderstood...just...evil. Its for a reason that has its place in the over arc'ing meta plot I'm slowly building towards. I wont ever be one of those authors that gives you nothing but depression inducing negative stories. This is still Equestria Girls, not the next season of The Walking Dead, and honestly, I like to balance the emotions of my readers in a series of highs and lows so that the stuff still has the full measure of emotional impact I want it too during the most important moments. If I gave nothing but darkness, by the time the climax happens, the audience has "emotional fatigue" for the specific type of emotion, and they're somewhat desensitized to it.

Happy you liked it! :}

Friend. I've already answered this question for you two or three times already, as well as mentioned it when others have asked, and talked about it in my author's note in more than one chapter. Anon-A-Miss is NOT a storyline I will be doing. Ever. I thought the comic was extremely poorly written, with terrible characterization and more questions than answers. The closest Rubicon will ever come is the early chapters where Sunset is dealing with harassment and bullying from a school populace trying to get their "pound of flesh" right after the formal, which, as has been surmised by Sunset herself, and implied in the flashbacks in Sol Invictus, was something that was exacerbated/instigated by the Sirens setting up for their strategic strike that was Rainbow Rocks. Arc Two is my version of "The Friendship Games" but it will only loosely bear resemblence to the canon movie, as we diverged distinctly from canon with Rainbow Rocks.

Trust me, you'll get your "build up" to the games, and Arc Two features Sparky more as a Deuteragonist than a secondary character. You will get plenty to sink your teeth into as far as the human Twilight, her psychology, her interactions with her family, and her growing relationship with Sunset Shimmer. She'll be having her own "character development journey" that both parallels and contrasts that of Sunset. (Part of the reason its going to end up being so damned long is because I'm basically writing TWO separate story arcs that take place concurrently.)
And like I have said so many times now, there will be no Anon-A-Miss in this story. Scootaloo outright likes Sunset, since Sunset once saved her from bullies, and AB and Sweetie are often included in activities that involve their sisters, such as New Years and Xmas, because of the way I've set up their respective families.

Sorry.. yeah. thanks for that. So Shining Armor chapter huh? heh.. i can't wait to see how he'll mess things up
LOL....I hope that Sunset never finds out what marshmallows are made of. I don't think she could handle it.
In all seriousness lived the chapter and cant wait to read the next one. Any predictions on when the next part will be ready?

lol. yes. I'm not sure most HUMANS realize what generic gelatin is made from (its not specified on ingredients labels in the US, as I did look), to be honest, so its likely not something Sunset has ever looked up. Especially because it seems likely that ponies have some sort of gelatin of their own (likely sourced from seaweed like we get agar.) Like with the leather coat--which Sunset has not yet clued in on as being COW leather (I have Equestria using pig skin for leather products--like books and tack and hats--instead since they are not sentient, and likely serve as a food source for various carnivorous sentient species in Equestria)--its one of those things she's not quite given enough thought to or research on to really figure out. Let's just hope no one tells her just how many things have byproducts from cows in human land, aye?
Alternatively, you could also assume that Pinkie, being Pinkie, knows and sourced the ones meant for vegans. Up to your interpretation, I suppose.
As for Arc Two...I'm not sure. I'm averaging 10k a week, but this arc is huge. Its already almost as long as the first arc, and I'm not even half done yet. I'll do my best to keep you all posted, and I will do an announcement once its in editing, lol.
10652025
I think you're right about the pigs as they use eggs for their recipes. Though I will admit it would be funny to see Sunset learn these things. If I had to bet on who would mention this my bet would be on Rainbow and she probably would not even realise what she said until it finally clicked.
In any case it's time to reread the story while I wait for the next part. Who else agrees?

Eggs and milk--baked goods are a huge thing in Equestria, as are pancakes, and desserts like ice cream. Plus we actually see Rarity cooking eggs at one point. Just...eggs in a pan, and there's references to things with cheese, which...well, dont get me started on what animal byproducts you need for cheese, much less the various other delicious and tasty ways milk can spoil. You really dont realize just how much we use animal products in all kinds of everyday products that have been around for centuries until you try to figure out what a culture would do for those things if the very animals they come from are sentient beings. Especially since the "synthetic alternatives" available to modern humans often require a level of industrialization, science, and chemistry that I'm not sure ponies have achieved yet or would even bother with. That old saying about "we use everything but the 'Oink'" is scary true.
I've not yet decided if anyone will ever point these things out to Sunset, or they will quietly get ignored. Depends on what the characters decide, lol.
Enjoy the re-read, hehe. Be interested to see what you pick up by going back through it!
10652058
One final question will there things that I can pick out that will be in the second arc while I reread?
10652063
There are things that have yet to occur, are ongoing, or are hinted at but not yet explained or developed to their full potential that I have foreshadowed from the very first chapter onward.
>:} The story's overarc'ing plot was in place before I ever wrote the first word.
When you launch the new arc maybe?
Or maybe just at the end of this one. For some reason I have a bad time getting plot recall for this Sunset fic specifically over the other high word count ones I've chewed through over the last two years or so
Good to see Sunny's starting to find her place with the girls. Though, her night-eyes are slightly concerning, but she's a clever little unicorn, I'm sure she'll figure it out.
As for Zephyr, he definitely reminds me far too much of jerks I've known in the past who don't understand boundaries.
how do you give me fluffy feels without cringe how
*claps and whistles happily*
Well done. That was a wonderful cap to a wonderful telling of the story. I am going to have to go back and read from the beginning, probably after I finish with my own story arc. Looking forward to what challenges they face next and how those bonds are tested. And of course, when Twi finally meets the others.
A very heartfelt ending to the bridge, with Sunset looking at what she's gained, rather than just what she's lost, and ever so slightly opening up to the possibility of actually living in the human world, rather than just enduring it.
Side note, you might want to fix the sentence about the Marble/Big Mac rumor, it looks like you reworded it partway through and didn't go back and clean it up.
10652384
The important question is "Will she be happy with what she discovers?"
10652416
Because its realistic fluffy feels? Not fluff for fluff's sake? ;} I seriously dunno. I'm writing a story I would love to read, thats really it.
10652435
I'm glad you liked it! I'm super proud of how this first part of the story ends, because in my head (and my copious pages of notes), part one of the story was loosely referred to as "Redemption", and it focuses on Sunset working through a lot of the garbage that came from being a shitty person and putting aside enough self hatred and self loathing to feel she'd earned forgiveness, as well as felt worthy of friendship and the love that is now surrounding her. I wanted to end things on a bit of a high note for her in the first part of the story. Sunset earned it...and so have all my readers for following along with her adventures so far. As for what will happen next....*snickers* well. i have a suspicion people will REALLY like it.
As for your story, my friend....Yes. I would very much like to read how you wrap that up. I've been following it the whole time, and found Sunset giving Granny the what-for to be very satisfying.
10652579
Ugh. Did I? I'll go take a look. Thanks for catching that. I know I tweaked that sentence in the edits.
And yes, our unicorn is now weighing her options and looking at her situation as more than just a punishment. Only time will tell where that goes.
Other than the Alabama type jokes there wouldn't really be anything wrong with Mac and Marble being together since it is by marriage.
