And that's why you always read the Fine Print Twilight. Also so this is how she's gonna go Midnight Sparkle? Interesting.
I know this is being influenced by an outside source, but goddamn Twilight.
Hold your ground Night, and Velvet, get her out of that school as quickly as possible. The amount of red flags that just went up is shocking.
If she did this vs her parents, lord help them both if Sunset sets her off.
Oh boy... and I assume Sunset is up in her room sleeping off her "dodgeball incident" right now? Cuz she needs to get down here and smack some sense into Twilight. Of course, with a dark outside influence, if Twily's parents couldn't do anything, I doubt Sunset will fare much better.
Oh, Twily, the thing about those scenarios is they're different than yours. Sunset was talking to her peers, a situation in which neither party has authority over the other, and Cinch is in a position of authority herself, whereas you are trying to demand something from someone in authority over you (i.e. your parents). So unless they're like the Shys, it ain't gonna work hun.
*pfft* and she calls her parents illogical...
Okay, I'm now worried that whatever Twilight signed put her under a geas. I have a feeling that as soon as she's near Sunset, every warning sense Sunset has, despite being very overtaxed right now, is going to go into DEFCON 2.
ah, the ominous chapter title was very well earned
oh dear
something tells me that this is a horrifying result of "twilight really wants this project to succeed" being driven far past any boundaries by whatever the fuck cinch is doing because damn!
also this is very unlikely to be made better by figuring out sunset is there... i am having doubts even sunset can reach her right this second (which is of course made worse by the fact that sunset is the cause of the magic storm, but neither knows the other's relation to magic yet...)
First, a big thanks to all of you who comment—theyre my favorite part of the weekly updates. They show me that people are still enjoying the tale, even when I apparently make some people mad enough to spam me with downvotes. Im sorry i was delayed on responding to things last week—things have been weird since xmas, between me getting covid (and recovering from it) and my grandmother having a jekyl and hyde meltdown of raid boss level proportions plus just real life shit hitting me. Just wanted to shout out to all my readers, especially the ones who talk to me regularly! You guys inspire me to keep writing!

Interesting speculation. I suppose you’ll just have to wait and find out, haha!
11148944
Indeed. They seem to have happened simultaneously. Im sure thats just a coincidence though, right? ;P
11149106
Why not both?
11149143
“These arent the droids youre looking for…”
11149159
*cackles evilly*
11149196
Im sure theres a perfectly rational and good reason for the compulsion.

Yes, in canon, Sunset’s element is Empathy. As for here…well. You’ll all find out. Heheheheh.

Potentially. Twilight is still a minor and her parents didnt sign anything. How that works for nebulous evil contracts with magical beings I’m not sure. ;P
11156075
Maybe? Maybe not? Who says Midnight is going to be the villain?
11156153
Yes, red flags everywhere. Twilight is not in a happy spot right now. Hopefully they can fix this. And yes, it would not be a pretty thing of she went off on Sunset….

To be fair, Twilight is a teen who struggles socially and teens also arent known for being the best at understanding the difference between those kinds of scenarios. The number of times my brother used to go off on my parents as a teen for not being allowed to do things that I was, and he could not seem to process the “your eldest sibling is 8 years older than you. She’s an adult. Youre 15. She can legally buy alcohol and vote, you are a freshman in high school” concept as anything but my parents being “ridiculously unfair and showing favoritism” towards me. And there was no magic involved. Just good old adolescent hormones and teen moodiness.

Maybe. Maybe not. ;) guess we will see how it plays out.

Its going to get worse before it gets better.
Uh-oh. Something tells me she's going to find out that Sunset is connected to the events at the CHS, either now or very soon and it's not going to be pretty.
I'm still trying to figure out if the magic blood pact worked or not. The crazy temper seems to imply it did, but I was under the impression it spilled off the page. Didn't stick and all that. Really looking forward to Twi and Sunsets next encounter in a few minutes/next week.

Well, the dark magic and the incentive of project funding certainly doesn't help
Well this is strikingly familiar ground. My brother used to have shouting matches with our parents on a weekly basis when it came to work/school/life balance. Didn't get better for a long time.
If Sunset was asleep I doubt she is now. This is going to be a make or break moment, I can feel it.
