*loads shotgun with iron shavings, blessed salt and an inordinate amount of malicious intent*
I do enjoy the interludes but at the same time I wanna see more Twiley and Sunset dangit!
Also, Cinch is having a rough day. Nice.
Interesting. We find Cinch in a similar situation as Celestia with the Sirens, being forced to choose a sacrificial lamb from among their flock. I can't help but feel that's intentional, wouldn't surprise me if that comes back later in the story.
They look at the situation differently and handle it differently, but clearly they both loath it. Doesn't sound like Cinch feels too guilty about it, she seems more concerned with what it means for her and how she can prevent it having negative consequences for her.
Twilight's parents continue to be far too good for this world. Here's hoping that Ithaedair's lawyers can't stop them from getting Twilight out of CPA.
And I want to say I feel any form of sympathy for Ithaedair, but I don't, because they've brought this on themselves.
While the better people in Twilight's extended family are in the younger crowd, I am happy Stalwart is the exception among the older folks, supportive of our Sparkle family and of young Twily.
Oho! It seems Sunset's magical protection is proving effective when extended to the rest of the family beyond just Twilight. Seems Cinch/Itheadair expected Twilight's parents to kowtow and fall back in line of her influence just like before. Well, not if Sunset Shimmer has anything to say about it! Sunset may not know exactly who her enemy is (and it seems the reverse is true and Cinch/Itheadair doesn't seem to be aware of Sunset) but the mental image of a single young unicorn-turned-girl standing between the sidhe and the Sparkles is both amusing and encouraging. Don't give up, Sparkles! Sunny's got your back!
Get the potato blight.
Interesting...
As for my last RWBY comment, it comes mostly because your story gave the impression that sunset (and the rest) will suffer consequence from a war they don't even know exist. Well they know there is something but are not even close to understand how bad it is .
(And that exactly what happen in RWBY season 3.)
then again it comes probably less from you planning a bad end than from your writing style that tend to be realistic. Some important information are awfully slow to reach the right people, and sometimes random event arrives out of sheer coincidence . (well no but you manage to give out that vibe);
It's more the world moving around sunset then sunset moving the world.
But that is good at making me worried about her because i'm like:"girl, you need a powerup.. a clue.. something" when i read the story.
well good to know that Twilight's family is protected at least and the magic spell on the document failed.
It's going to get worse for Cinch in she tries to use that "grant" too. Twi is under age, and her parents have no idea such a thing was done.
That is a big no-no. With Velvet and Night being, mostly, clean of dark magic because of Sunset and her food they can think like rational people. With the magic not working via electronic copy so Stalwart is clean, getting her out will be easy, save for Twi and the magic binding her.
Hmmm. Seen those cursed documents before, haven't we? The wheels are turning but will Twilight allow it? Can she? Whoooo boy. Family confrontation incoming.

This seems to be a common sentiment.
11551255
Don't worry. You'll get about 3-4 chapters of cuteness soon.
11551265
That's one way to put it.
11551436
Funny how things like that happen, isn't it?
11551451
Sparkle Parents: #1 Heroes.
And yes, the fae did bring this on themself.

Stalwart is good people. To be fair, some of Twilight's extended family are good people, and some are bad, its just we're seeing it from that third person limited perspective--we only see things from Twilight or Sunset's eyes most of the time. We know what they know. ...We being the audience, obviously. The creative team is a bit more...in the know. :P
And yes, it seems something about Sunset is protecting them. >:}

Tell us how you really feel about Cinch, lol.

Ah. Depressive storytelling versus long form realistic characters. I can assure you that this is not The Walking Dead, or something like RWBY then. If I wanted to be depressed, I'd watch the news. If I wanted to spread depression, I'd tell people about whats going on in the world, and how we all seem to be headed somewhere, and hey, does anyone know why we're in this handbasket?
I tell stories for the same reason I read them--to remind myself that good can triumph over evil, and that there is hope for people. In this, the villains are twisted and evil for the simple point of contrast it provides--A hero is only as noble as their villains are twisted, because "the ultimate irony of existence is that the concept of Good would be totally impotent without the contrast of Evil." (Carolinus, Flight of Dragons film, highly recommend.)
But in the end, while there will be sad things, and painful things, and tense moments, and cliffhangers where you bite your nails and feel like a wrung out dishrag, I can promise you that I'm not here to crush you with sorrow and suffering over the ending. Its just...sometimes it has to get worse before it gets better.
Also, something I think hasnt been quite called attention to yet--from about chapter 56 to 114? Its only like two months in universe--compare that to 1-55 being something like three full months and some change. Things seem a lot slower than they actually are, partially because this is the densest arc of the whole thing. Lot's of set-up for later payoff, lol.

*cackles*
11552220
Something certainly interfered with it. What...remains to be seen.
11552602
Things to be thankful for.
11553232
*more cackling*

Seems that way.
Finally, that goddam curse is being adressed
