Right... so this is a thing that really bugged me from canon EqG. Admittedly I haven't watched all the shorts/movies (just the "original" trilogy, and the ones where we get to see pony Sunset... and yes I'm still salty about Spring Breakdown's bait), but it always felt to me that Sunset was a bit too... "cavalier" I could say, about leaving her homeworld, original shape, and even use of magic behind (even after getting the ability to pony-up and the geode it's still a pale shadow of what she could do as one of the top-tier unicorns in her generation), particularly when the show had made it pretty clear how important Cutie Marks are and how a pony being unable to express their talent properly is very stressful and potentially damaging, and we have Sunset stuck in a world where it's impossible for her to do so.
That also makes me think of just what future could Sunset expect in the EqG Human world, at least in the "canon" version. It's probably me being jaded, but it always feels that anything she could aspire to would pale to what she could achieve in Equestria; even if she was never able to ascend she could still be the modern-day Star-Swirl for instance; whereas in the human, as long as she doesn't come "clean" about magic and her origin to the wider world, I can't see her achieving anything that could compare (one could speculate about a possibility such as open contact being established between Equestria and EqG!Earth, in which case Sunset could be anything from a diplomat to a pioneer in magitek research, but that goes into AU territory).
Inevitably this also brings to mind what I've read were the original plans of the EqG writers, where they intended Friendship Games to be the finale and that Sunset would return to Equestria; and a "what could have been" is she had joined as the "Mane 7th" instead of Starlight "Worst Pony" Glimmer (aka Discount Twilight Sparkle).
Anyway, just to keep from ranting about it too much, the fact you're acknowledging this conflict in particular makes me curious as to how you're going to handle it.
There's your problem Sunny! You're supposed to take a cold shower, not a hot one!
Sunset's conflict continues. In the end, Twilight is the source of Sunset's greatest comfort, and her deepest pain. She makes Sunset's world tolerable, and gives her something she's missed in her life up until now: someone who loves her deeply and unconditionally. But she also inadvertently creates so much conflict for Sunny because she creates an anchor to the human world, and is increasingly driving Sunset to distraction.
Sunny, you really need to tell Twilight about where you are from. It’s only going to get worse the longer you wait!
Thanks for the chapter!

Its going to be a big part of the both the bridge and the second arc.
And yeah, but cold showers are awful. Hot showers help clear your head much better.

Its that impossible choice really. The question becomes “what choice will she make?”

Honesty is the best policy. Lets see what happens hmm?

Ahhh, teenagerhood, when all decisions seemed so black and white, and yet the best choice was always somewhere in the middle.
Not that I necessarily blame Sunset for not considering the compromise decisions in her situation, considering how complicated they are.
Honestly knowing Twilight's personality here she would probably be most offended by the fact Sunset could have helped more with her project than she was letting on. She might be shocked but she has been the pinnacle of understanding and might be even more sympathetic knowing her girlfriend was exiled from her home world.
