After her complete defeat at the royal wedding, Celestia's ego is shattered. Luna promises to whip her sister back into shape, because it'll take far more than a few laps around the palace to put a grown alicorn at the top of her game. Rainbow Dash is fearless! Everypony knows that! But she suddenly gets a creepy feeling she being watched. She starts seeing things in the shadows; in the dark. Her minds playing tricks on her. That explains it! But then what explains the creepy hooded pony who seems to be following her, and the fact that Celestia is more jumpy then usual. Or the fact that she has nightmares every night about a colt who keeps giving her answers, but leaving her with more questions.

Note: In this series, some events that took place in the show, don't take place in this fanfiction. Therefore, some things are different from the TV show. Also, the cover image was created by me, using some images off the internet and the website picmonkey.

Princess Luna and Princess Celestia were both foals at one time in their lives. They both start to recall different events in their lives when they were young, whether good or bad.

Following the events "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?" Celestia, with the help of Twilight and her friends, tries to get Luna to open up about the feelings she carried after being released from her Nightmare Moon persona.

A thousand years ago, Princess Celestia banished her sister to the moon, that much we know. What wasn’t known, and what Celestia kept secret was that before her banishment, Luna had given birth to a foal. Now a thousand years later, as Nightmare returns to Equestria to bring about Eternal Night.

Twilight Sparkle, protege of Princess Celestia, struggles against the tyranny of this ancient foe. But how will she be able to save herself and her friends when the truth of this ancient legend crashes down upon her? Twilight will have to confront herself...and her heritage.
