Long ago, before the rise of Equestria, long before the Three Tribes Era even, Equus grew and prospered under the rule of the seemingly immortal Empress Cosmos. For two thousand years, she and her five Exarchs guided the many races of the world into a better future.

And then, she vanished, and her name and all she had done was forgotten.

Ten thousand years have passed since that night. Her Exarchs have not been seen in millennia, and the few who do know of that time think they died long ago.

The civilization she helped create is now forgotten by most, destroyed in a war born of xenophobia. One that heralded the rise of the Three Tribes Era.

But now signs have begun to appear. A long-forgotten prophecy is about to be fulfilled. The once and future ruler of Equus is about to be reborn. But what does this have to do with Twilight Sparkle and the five new ponies who have just arrived in Ponyville?

Twilight Sparkle, Element of Magic, Hero of Equestria and first casualty in the Changeling war. When she passed she became the rallying cry for the Equestrians in the short lived war. When Chrysalis attempts a surprise attack on Canterlot a mysterious figure in armor appears and slays Chrysalis in front of the princesses. Now it's time they learn that anyone can change.

Banished to another reality by a vengeful Starlight Glimmer. Twilight ends up in a near copy paste version of the Equestria that she knows and loves…with one small difference, she doesn’t exist. Twilight played a huge role back in her Equestria. So what would happen to an Equestria that ended up losing its saviour years ago?

Attempting to figure out what makes this reality different from the one she was born in and what happened to the original Twilight Sparkle. Twilight tries to reunite with those that she was closest to and find a way to replicate Starlight’s spell to return back home. However things won’t be as easy as she had originally thought.

Though after spending time in this version of Equestria, making friendships and finding love. Will she really want to go back?

Based on Letters from an Irritated Princess by Tired Old Man, written in the same format, with the same sort of thing going on more or less, but, with said letters written by the Evil Empress, Daybreaker herself, instead of her goody-goody counterpart. Permission for this was given to me by Tired Old Man himself!

Ah, letters. To some, letters are a means for friendly, long distance communication. To others, they are a way of informing you that you are late on your monthly payment. But, for Empress Daybreaker? Well, they're a way of expressing displeasure, annoyance, evil amusement, ransom demands, and other things.

Basically, they're for making her subjects twitch in fear. Lots of fear. Whether it be of her wrath, or the horrors her evil mischieviousness will bring to her subjects.

With Twilight now on the throne as Ruler of Equestria, the royal sisters have retired to the small island community of Silver Shoals. However, their long awaited retirement isn't going quite as smoothly as they might have hoped. It seems that when ruling a nation for over a millennia, one might not think too much about the work that goes into living a normal life.

After Princess Twilight Sparkle delivered an unimaginable punishment to Queen Chrysalis, Discord took it upon himself to have an important talk with her. A Draconequus-To-Alicorn Talk. He's watched on long enough.

And if Twilight thinks having Discord as her unexpected pseudo-therapist is crazy enough, wait until she sees who else has come to "help" her...

Luna didn't turn into Nightmare Moon and wasn't banished to the moon. One day, at the school of gifted unicorns, Luna and Celestia sees the potential of Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer. Each of the princesses chooses one of them as a student. Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer will spend their lives as students with their mentors as they grow together.

Being a princess is no cakewalk. And Luna, Celestia and Candace know that. They want to have a daughter so they can have company. Together they go to a place where they can adopt a foal. Each chooses and adopts a unicorn foal.

* In this AU, Candace never went to the Crystal Empire. That is, the Crystal Empire never existed. She was helping Luna and Celestia with the royal duties. And Luna never became Nightmare Moon.

Nightmare Moon feels lonely. And she goes to Ponyville to talk to the six mares who saved Luna. Which pony will be happy to be your friend? And if she finds this pony, will they still be friends or will they be something else?

Nightmare Moon beat her sister and now the night lasts forever. She couldn't be more than happy. When she finds out a fatherless foal, Nightmare Moon decides to adopt her.
