The stars were lining up and Nightmare Moon knew now was the time. She would return to Equestria. She couldn’t wait to end with Celestia. As the stars lined up, Nightmare Moon was pulled by the stars to earth. She couldn’t wait to get to Everfree Forest to end with Celestia.
Celestia was in her old castle. She hated having to arrest Luna on the moon. But she had no choice. She was waiting for Nightmare Moon in the old castle. Because she believed Nightmare Moon would appear in the old castle they ruled. She hoped Nightmare Moon would come back and regret what she did. She expected to see Luna. But she knew Nightmare Moon would appear. Suddenly a mist appeared before rising and Nightmare suddenly appeared. Nightmare Moon smirked, “Celestia, Celestia, I see you came here. Ready to say goodbye to the sun?”
“Luna, please. Stop this. You don’t have to do this. Let’s settle by talking. I don’t want to fight you”, asked Celestia. She still had hopes that Nightmare Moon would quit and get Luna back.
“Please, Luna”, asked Celestia, almost crying.
“I won’t stop, Celestia,” continued Nightmare Moon. “Fight me or you will be destroyed!”
Celestia sighed, “So go ahead and destroy me. I will not fight you ”
Nightmare Moon was surprised. She didn’t expect that answer. She soon recovered from the shock, “so… so… if you won’t fight… I’ll… banish you to the moon as a punishment for trapping me on the moon for a thousand years!” she cast a spell on Celestia. When Nightmare Moon was over, she looked at the moon and saw a silhouette of a mare on the moon. Nightmare Moon began to laugh malignantly. Now she had to warn her subjects who the new princess was.
When the curtain opened, Nightmare Moon walked and looked at the crowd of ponies, “aah, my lovely subjects. I haven’t seen their lovely little faces for so long. You know my name, right?”
Nopony answered.
“Don’t know who I am? Doesn’t my crown count since I’ve been imprisoned for a thousand years? Don’t you remember the legend? Didn’t you see the signs?” asked Nightmare Moon.
Nightmare Moon snorted, “Alright. I’ll get to the point. Your princess is gone. And the sun will never be in the sky. The night will last forever!!” Nightmare Moon began to laugh as her mane formed a lightning tornado. All the ponies looked scared.
“Arrest her! She knows where the princess is!” exclaimed Mayor Mare. Three royal guards went to Nightmare Moon.
“Get away, you foal”, said Nightmare Moon before throwing bolts at the guards. Nightmare Moon turned to mist and left the city hall. Now heading towards the Two Sisters Castle.
Nightmare Moon was now in the Castle of the Two Sisters, she was waiting for this moment: Decorate the castle your way. She first thought about how she wanted the castle to look before changing the look of the castle. Now the walls were blue in color. And there were some flags with her drawing. She smiled at the result, now it’s much better.
The Lunar guards went to Nightmare Moon and bowed, “Something we can do for you, Princess?”
Nightmare Moon put her hoof on her chin in thought. Well, she needed somepony to help with the tapestries and decorations, “yes. Go to Ponyville and find a unicorn who likes tapestries and decorations to make him my maid”
The guards agreed before leaving the castle. Nightmare Moon took the opportunity to sit on her new throne.
It’s been a few minutes, and Nightmare Moon has heard the sound of a door opening. The lunar guards were bringing a white unicorn with purple mane and three-diamond Cutie Mark. Nightmare Moon smiled, she went flying to the unicorn, “what’s your name?”
“Rarity, your majesty”, replied Rarity.
“Is it true that you like tapestries and decorations?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Yes. I like. Why?” answered Rarity.
“Would you like to be my maid?” asked Nightmare Moon.
Rarity didn’t know if she should accept, “I don’t know. I I have a younger sister. I don’t want to worry her”
“Don’t worry, Rarity. I warn her that you’re safe. And if you want I can bring her to live with you here”, said Nightmare Moon.
“I don’t think so,” said Rarity. “But you can warn her”
“So you accept?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Yes. I accept”, answered Rarity. She wanted rather to be a fashion stylist. But she could never make that dream come true.
It’s been a few days since Rarity became Nightmare Moon’s maid. Rarity has been a pretty serious mare about her new job. You’ll see, it was because she didn’t want to lose this job.
Nightmare Moon was sitting on her new throne. And she couldn’t deny that it was boring. Not that now that she was ruled was boredom. But because She had almost nothing to do. She’d like to have a new Lunar guard, but what pegasus would want to be a guard of someone like her? She had an idea, “guards!”
The lunar guards went to Nightmare Moon and bowed, “Yes, your majesty? Go to Cloudsdale or Ponyville and try to find a loyal pegasus”
The guards agreed before doing what Nightmare Moon asked. And once again, boredom came to Nightmare Moon.
It took a little longer than Nightmare Moon had expected. But the Lunar guards returned with a blue pegasus with colored mane. Nightmare Moon walked up to the pegasus, “what’s your name?”
“Rainbow Dash”, answered Rainbow Dash.
“Tell me, are you a loyal pony?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Yes. I would never let anyone down”, said Rainbow Dash proudly.
Nightmare Moon liked the way Rainbow Dash answered her question, “would you like to be a Lunar guard?”
Rainbow Dash didn’t know how to answer that, “I don’t know. My dream has always been to be a Wonderbolt… ”
Nightmare Moon had an even better idea, “I have a group similar to Wonderbolts”
Rainbow Dash brightened, “Really? Which is? What is they name?”
“The Shadowbolts,” replied Nightmare Moon. “You would like to join them? They need a leader”
“Yes!! I accept!!” exclaimed Rainbow Dash excitedly. She may not have joined the Wonderbolts, but she joined a group similar to the Wonderbolts.
It’s been a few nights, and Nightmare Moon was and was still bored. Even with Rarity and Rainbow Dash around, she couldn’t get rid of boredom, it’s not possible. Just because I’m reigning now. It doesn’t mean That I have nothing to do!
Suddenly Nightmare Moon heard hoofbeats rushing at her. They were your guards, “princess!”
“What’s up?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“We found a lost filly in the woods”, replied a Lunar guard.
“What?” asked Nightmare Moon in surprise. She had no idea a filly would be in a forest. This forest was very dangerous. Especially for a filly. She noticed that the lavender-colored unicorn filly was looking at the decoration of the castle. The filly liked the decoration of the castle.
Nightmare Moon approached the lavender unicorn filly, “what’s your name, little one?”
The filly stopped looking at the decoration, “Twilight Sparkle”, answered Twilight with a smile.
Nightmare Moon was surprised. This filly showed no fear. Most were afraid of her. She didn’t know how this filly stopped in the woods, but she needed to send this filly back to the house. She didn’t want to make the filly’s parents worried, “Where do your parents live, Twilight?”
Twilight Sparkle was sad, “I have no parents”
Nightmare Moon was surprised. She didn’t expect that answer. She felt she should adopt this filly. After all, she is the princess of Equestria. She had to show herself that she would help others in the most difficult situations, “would you like to live here?”
Twilight was surprised, “what? Live here? Really?!”
Nightmare Moon smiled with the joy of Twilight, “Seriously, Twilight. You can live here. I will take care of you”
Twilight was excited and hugged Nightmare Moon’s hooves, “thank you! Thank you!”
Nightmare Moon was surprised, I never saw a pony be happy to finally have a family…
But soon a smile appeared, don’t worry, Twilight. I will take care of you. It is my duty to do this.
“Have you eaten anything before you go into the woods?” asked Nightmare Moon.
Twilight looked at Nightmare Moon, “no… I always had to steal food…” Twilight realized what she said and got scared.
“Please don’t banish me for the moon! I did it to survive! Please! Please!” exclaimed Twilight in panic.
Nightmare Moon was surprised by Twilight’s mood swings. But she had to calm down Twilight. She might be the new princess of Equestria, but that didn’t mean she would banish her new daughter because of that, “calm down, Twilight. I will not do this to you. You will be my daughter, remember?”
Twilight now had tears in his eyes, “I-i know. But I was afraid you would change your mind…”
Nightmare Moon wiped the tears from Twilight with a hoof, “there, there, Twilight. Come on, let’s have something to eat”
Twilight smiled, “ok, mommy”
Nightmare Moon felt a heat inside her. She liked being called that. Wait. Why was she enjoying it? She was doing it because it was her duty! Just it!
“Mom, is everything okay?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
Nightmare Moon realized she was making an angry face. She calmed down, “yes. Sorry to worry you”
Twilight Sparkle suspected before smiling, “ok!” exclaimed Twilight Sparkle animatedly.
Twilight Sparkle and Nightmare Moon were at the table eating. Nightmare Moon was taking care of Twilight more than eating. She didn’t want anything bad to happen to Twilight. What? Why was she worrying so much? Twilight would be fine without her looking at the table. Nightmare Moon started eating but still kept looking at Twilight Sparkle.
After Twilight and Nightmare Moon were over, Maid Rarity appeared and grabbed everything on the table and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes. Nightmare Moon looked at Twilight, “would you like to watch the night sky with me?”
Twilight Sparkle perked up and started jumping around the table, “yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!”
Nightmare Moon was surprised that Twilight accepted. Any other pony wouldn’t have accepted and fled from it. Nightmare Moon smiled at the fact that somepony likes their night.
When they reached the balcony, Nightmare Moon hugged Twilight with a wing, “Look at this, daughter”, said Nightmare Moon before making constellations.
Twilight smiled as she clapped, “Yeah! Night is the best time of day!”
Nightmare Moon smiled at that. She was glad somepony thought so of her night. Others would probably say they would prefer the day, “Mommy, do you have a telescope?”
“Even better. I have an observatory”, smiled Nightmare Moon.
Twilight Sparkle rejoiced, “Really? Can we go there now? Can we?” she made doggy eyes.
Nightmare Moon couldn’t deny that this was cute. She wanted to hug Twilight, “of course, follow me”
Nightmare Moon got up and Twilight SparkHe followed her mother. As they headed toward the observatory, Nightmare Moon couldn’t deny that Twilight seemed to be the only one who enjoyed her night. But after Twilight went to sleep, she planned to sign some adoption papers.
Nightmare Moon opened the observatory door with its magic. Twilight Sparkle was running all happy. She let out a breath as she saw the room, “this is the best room ever!”
Nightmare Moon smiled at the compliment, “I’m glad you enjoyed it”
Twilight Sparkle approached a large telescope and began to see the planets and stars, “the night sky is so beautiful!”
Nightmare Moon smiled with compliment. She was glad that Twilight Sparkle always preferred the night to the day. Well, your daughter’s name said it all. She was supposed to have expected something like this, “Do you have a notebook?” asked Twilight Sparkle, now looking at Nightmare Moon.
“A notebook? But for what?” asked Nightmare Moon in a confused way.
“For me to draw these beautiful constellations”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
“No. Sorry”, replied Nightmare Moon sadly.
Twilight Sparkle looked down at the floor, “I see ...”
Nightmare Moon couldn’t stand to see sad Twilight Sparkle. She went to Twilight Sparkle and gave a hug. Twilight Sparkle managed to cheer up a bit and hugged her mother back. Nightmare Moon enjoyed being hugged by her own daughter. After all, she was the mother of Twilight. She felt happy being loved by a pony. Suddenly she heard a yawn. Nightmare Moon looked at Twilight Sparkle. Twilight was struggling to stay awake. But her sleep spoke louder and she fell asleep. Nightmare Moon took Twilight Sparkle with her magic and led her filly to the bedroom where Nightmare Moon slept.
Nightmare Moon covered Twilight Sparkle with a blanket before giving a good night kiss on Twilight Sparkle’s forehead. That done, she left the room and now she would go to Ponyville and go flying. Of course. She went to the balcony, spread her wings and began to fly. While flying Nightmare Moon began to think about the first moments she spent with Twilight Sparkle. Nightmare Moon couldn’t help but think she was enjoying spending time with Twilight. Imagine what she could do with Twilight: How to bathe, brush her mane… No! She shouldn’t have these thoughts. She was a mother of Twilight because Twilight has no parents and not because she wants company!
When Nightmare Moon arrived at Ponyville City Hall, she went to Mayor Mare, “I want to adopt Twilight Sparkle”
“OK. Just let me go get the documents”, said Mayor Mare, before looking for the documents.
As the mayor went to get the documents, Nightmare Moon began to think of things she and Twilight could do together like: Watching the stars together, eating together… No! She should think this is something for Twilight. Because Twilight Sparkle would finally have a family. She is the princess of Equestria. She should see and realize that Twilight would finally be happy Living with her.
Nightmare Moon was surprised. But she wouldn’t give up. She took a quill and started writing her name so she could finally be the mother of Twilight.
When Twilight Sparkle woke up, she saw her mother lying in bed with her eyes closed. Twilight smiled at her. Twilight was happy to finally have a mother. She wondered if the food was already on the table. Twilight Sparkle got out of bed. She stared at her mother’s sleeping form. Nightmare Moon felt that something was no longer in bed. Nightmare Moon started looking for her daughter. Twilight Sparkle stared at the floor. Good thing the bed wasn’t high. She jumped out of bed. Lucky she didn’t break the hull doing that. She opened the door with a hull and headed toward the table.
When she arrived at the table, Twilight saw that it looked like a feast. Because there was a lot of food on the table. She jumped in a chair to get a better look at what was on the table. She didn’t know what to choose. Maid Rarity saw Twilight already sitting at the table. She went to the foal, “Would you like me to help you?” asked Rarity in a friendly tone.
Twilight looked at Rarity and nodded, “Yes. There’s so much food that I can’t decide what to eat. Do you have any recommendations?”
Rarity thought before answering, “What do you like to eat the most?”
“Pancakes”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
“There are pancakes on the table. Would you like me to bring you?”
“Yes, please”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
Rarity grabbed a plate of pancakes with her magic and deliver it to Twilight, “here it is. If you need anything else call me”
“OK. Thank you, Miss…”
“... Rarity”
“Thank you Miss Rarity”, said Twilight Sparkle. She looked at her food and began to eat.
When Nightmare Moon woke up, she realized that Twilight was no longer in bed. She panicked.
Oh damn it! Where did Twilight get in?!
Nightmare Moon ran out of the room looking for her daughter. When she arrived in the dining room, she saw Twilight eating pancakes. She let out a sigh of relief.
How nice. She just got out of bed to have breakfast. For a moment I thought she had fled the castle.
Nightmare Moon walked over to the table and sat next to her daughter. Twilight Sparkle smiled when she saw her mother, “oh. Hi, mommy”
Nightmare Moon just smiled, “Hi, daughter”
After Twilight finished eating, she left the dining room, “daughter”
Twilight Sparkle looked back, “Yes, Mom?”
“Where are you going?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“I’m going to the observatory”, answered Twilight Sparkle. “Why?”
“For nothing. Just to know”, replied Nightmare Moon.
Twilight Sparkle nodded before walking out of the living room. Nightmare Moon blew out a breath.
Why? Why am I so worried about Twilight? I shouldn’t worry for nothing. She’ll be fine without me. I just adopted her so that Twilight had a place to live and a mother to have. Nothing but that!
Twilight Sparkle was in the castle observatory and she couldn’t deny that she was having fun. She always loved the night. She really wanted to have a notebook. But your mother said that she didn’t have one. What was she going to do? Wait. Why doesn’t she bring out a notebook with her magic? That was what she was going to do. She thought of a notebook before trying to use its magic. But unfortunately, she failed. Who knows if she asked her mother to teleport a notebook to her?
Nightmare Moon was sitting on her throne. And once again, there was boredom on his face. Well, more or less. Because with Twilight in the castle, things started to get livelier.
I think I’ll spend time with Twilight. At least with her I can feel happier.
Nightmare Moon saw her daughter running to her. She was surprised by her daughter coming to her, “Mom! Mom!”
“Yes? What’s up?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Could you teleport a notebook? I can’t teleport objects”, said Twilight Sparkle.
“Yes I know. But why do you want a notebook?” wanted to know Nightmare Moon.
“For me to draw the constellations in the night sky”, replied Twilight Sparkle with a smile.
Nightmare Moon smiled at the answer, “ok Twilight”, Nightmare Moon used her magic and made a notebook appear. She handed the notebook to Twilight.
“Here it is. I hope you have fun”, said Nightmare Moon.
Twilight Sparkle tried to catch with her magic. But she couldn’t. Twilight tried again. But only sparks came out. Twilight looked at her mother, “Mommy, help me?”
Nightmare Moon didn’t know that Twilight wasn’t good with her magic. She smiled, “Of course, daughter”, she took the notebook from the floor and rose from the throne.
“Where would you like to stay, Twilight?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“At the observatory, please”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
Nightmare Moon was happy that Twilight enjoyed spending most of her time at the observatory, “ok. Follow me”
Nightmare Moon started walking and Twilight followed her as she had a smile. Nightmare Moon liked to see Twilight happy. She smiled as she continued walking and carried the notebook.
No pony would ever be happy to see me. They would be afraid and would run away from me.
When they arrived at the observatory, Twilight went to the largest telescope and began looking at the stars. Twilight glanced at Nightmare, “could you draw the constellations for me, please? I can’t even lift a book with my magic”
Nightmare Moon knew that if anypony told her to do something she would deny it. But it’s Twilight. Your daughter that we’re talking about. She couldn’t deny Twilight’s request, “of course. You’re lucky to have a mother that is a princess of the night”
After a few hours, Nightmare Moon couldn’t believe she was feeling it. But, she was tired of drawing for more than several, “Twilight, I’m exhausted. We’ll continue tomorrow, okay?”
But no answer was heard. She looked at Twilight and saw her sleeping with her eyes on the telescope. Nightmare Moon took Twilight with her magic and put her to bed. She lay in bed before hugging her daughter.
When Twilight woke up she felt being hugged by hooves. She looked at her mother and saw that Nightmare Moon was smiling in while sleeping. She couldn’t deny that until it was cute the way her mother slept. She just wouldn’t get up now because the hug was so good and warm. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep again. But she couldn’t. With a sigh, she rose from the bed, even though she was still being hugged. She tried to remove her hooves with her magic. But only sparks came out. She let out a breath. She wanted to be good at magic. But how would she learn if she and her mother lived in a castle in the middle of the woods? Suddenly, Twilight heard a yawn. Twilight looked back and saw her mother waking up and opening the dragon slits while having the same smile she had in her sleep, “good night, Twilight. Sleep well?”
“Yes, Mom”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
Nightmare Moon noticed that the Twilight mane was all messed up, “Twilight”
“Yes, Mom?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“Your mane is all messed up”, replied Nightmare Moon.
“Oops”, said Twilight Sparkle while smiling.
Nightmare Moon grabbed a blue brush with a waning moon design, “let’s comb this messy mane”
Twilight Sparkle was afraid and tried to escape. But she’d been seized by her mother’s magic. Nightmare Moon was surprised that her daughter was afraid to brush her mane, “What is it, daughter? Never combed your mane before?”
Twilight was struggling to get out of her mother’s magic, “what did you expect? No one has ever combed my mane before because I have no parents. So it’s normal for me to be afraid”
Nightmare Moon realized that what Twilight said was true. How could she be so insensitive? “I’m sorry for being so insensitive”
Twilight felt sorry for her mother. She didn’t want to leave Nightmare Moon, “Mom, don’t be sad. You can comb my mane”
Nightmare Moon didn’t expect her daughter to feel sorry for her. She soon smiled, “ok then”
Nightmare Moon began brushing her daughter’s mane. Suddenly, Twilight started screaming in pain.
“Sorry, Twilight. But this mane of yours is very messy”, said Nightmare Moon, while trying to brush her daughter’s messy mane. Twilight Sparkle kept screaming.
After a few minutes, Nightmare Moon finally finished brushing Twilight’s mane. She was panting. But soon recovered, “Well, Twilight, we better eat”
Twilight Sparkle agreed. They got out of bed and went to the bedroom door. Twilight waited for her mother to close the bedroom door. When Nightmare Moon closed the door, they started walking. Nightmare Moon began to think about what just happened. She couldn’t deny that she loved combing Twilight’s mane, no! I did it because I didn’t want her to go messy horsehair everywhere! I did not should like this. I just adopted this foal so she had a mother and a home!
When they arrived at the table, Twilight sat at the table next to her mother. Twilight ate pancakes. While Nightmare Moon ate Waffles. Suddenly, Nightmare Moon heard a sound of doors opening, a Lunar guard went to Nightmare Moon, “Your Majesty”
“What’s up?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Rainbow Dash wants to talk to you”, replied the Lunar guard.
“Send her in”, said Nightmare Moon.
The Lunar guard bowed before going to the door to call Rainbow Dash. When the door opened again, Rainbow Dash appeared in her Shadowbolt uniform. Rainbow Dash bowed before speaking, “Your Majesty, I came here to inform you that you are invited to watch the Shadowbolts concert in Cloudsdale”
“Can my daughter come along?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Of course, your majesty”, said Rainbow Dash, before leaving the room.
“Mom, what are these Shadowbolts?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“It’s a group of pegasi led by me”, replied Nightmare Moon.
Twilight Sparkle smiled, “That’s awesome!!” But her smile soon faded when she remembered the last sentence Rainbow Dash said.
“What is Cloudsdale? Is it a city?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“Yes, daughter. It’s the city of the pegasi”, replied Nightmare Moon.
“How am I going to watch? I am a unicorn. I’m going to fall from the clouds”, said Twilight Sparkle afraid to die.
Nightmare Moon hadn’t thought of that. And now? She wanted Twilight to go to see the show. But she didn’t want to lose her daughter. But her protective side said louder, “Daughter, you don’t have to go if you don’t want to”
Twilight Sparkle was excited, “Really?!”
Nightmare Moon smiled, “Yes, daughter. You can stay. I don’t want to risk it. I’ll let the ponies working here in the castle know that you’ll still be here”
After Nightmare Moon spoke to the ponies working at the castle, she kissed the forehead before closing the door. Twilight decided to return to the observatory. When twilight arrived at the observatory, Twilight watched in wonder.
Mom’s night is so beautiful. I wonder if mom is having fun.
When Nightmare Moon arrived at the venue, she sat where the royals were. The Shadowbolts began to do tricks while flying. Nightmare Moon was smiling, especially at Rainbow Dash. Suddenly she started thinking about Twilight. Was her daughter well alone in the castle? No! She shouldn’t worry for nothing. Of course Twilight was fine. She was just worrying for nothing. Why did she have these thoughts? Nightmare Moon had only Twilight as a daughter so the foal had a house to live in and a mother. So why did a part of her say she should accept that she likes having Twilight as a daughter? Because after all, she finally had somepony who liked her night, who was company and who didn’t show fear of her. So why did a part of her deny these maternal feelings? Was it the darkness in her or was it her ego? Well, whatever the reason, she should change her way and show that she really cared and loved her daughter and that’s what she was going to do.
It’s been a few days, and Twilight Sparkle has begun to notice that Nightmare Moon was even happier and more loving than before with her. Twilight Sparkle smiled at this change. In the early days, she had noticed that her Nightmare Moon was quiet, as if it were having an internal conflict. But she smiled at that change. She and Nightmare Moon were now eating breakfast at the table. Twilight Sparkle was eating pancakes and Nightmare Moon was eating waffles. Twilight Sparkle began to demonstrate that he loved pancakes. Nightmare Moon didn’t judge what her daughter liked about her daughter. Because she knew everypony had their own preferences. When Twilight finished eating, she looked at Nightmare Moon, “Mommy, can I play outside?”
Nightmare Moon seemed unsure of this, “are you going to play in the woods or in the castle garden?”
“In the castle garden”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
Nightmare Moon looked uncertain. She knew her daughter would never lie to her. But she feared that Twilight would eventually head into the woods, “Can I go with you?”
Despite the question, Twilight Sparkle smiled, “Of course, Mom”
Nightmare Moon smiled at the answer. But before doing that, she would finish eating her breakfast, “Could you wait for me, Twilight?”
“Of course, mom. I’ll be waiting for you here”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
Nightmare Moon smiled before eating again. As Twilight watched her mother eat, she began to think about what she should do. Maybe she could get a book to read. But as her mother would be with her, maybe she should enjoy playing with her mother. And that was what she was going to do. She already had a game in mind. When Twilight looked at her mother, she realized that Nightmare Moon had already eaten. Nightmare Moon stood up, “come daughter”
Twilight Sparkle jumped out of her chair and followed Nightmare Moon into the garden. When they arrived in the garden, Twilight marveled at the garden. She has never seen such a beautiful garden, “It’s so beautiful…”
Nightmare Moon smiled at the compliment, “did you like the garden?”
Twilight Sparkle looked at Nightmare Moon, “I… I loved it. I have never seen such a beautiful garden in my life… ”
Nightmare Moon blushed at the compliment, “thank you, daughter”
“You’re welcome, mom. And do you know what that means?” asked Twilight Sparkle with a cheerful smile.
Nightmare Moon raised an eyebrow in confusion.
Twilight Sparkle touched in Nightmare Moon, “It’s with you!” exclaimed Twilight Sparkle happily, before running off.
Nightmare Moon smiled, before running after her daughter, “come back here, daughter!”
As Twilight Sparkle ran, she laughed with happiness. She has never been so happy to finally have a family. Suddenly, Nightmare Moon reached Twilight and touched her back, “It’s with you!”
Twilight Sparkle ran right again and ran after Nightmare Moon. She couldn’t stop laughing. She thinks she has never laughed so hard and felt so cheerful before.
After hours of playing catch, Nightmare Moon and Twilight Sparkle got tired. They were lying on the grass. They were both tired. Nightmare Moon hated to admit it, but she was glad there was no political problem going on. Because she could play and spend time with your daughter. Nightmare Moon sat down, “daughter, I think we’d better go inside. I’m already tired, and I think you are too”
Suddenly Nightmare Moon heard a snoring sound. She looked left and saw her daughter sleeping. Nightmare Moon, smiling, picked up Twilight with her magic, got up from the floor and headed toward the castle. She was going to put Twilight to sleep in her bed. Since the night was eternal, no one knew the time for bed. So Nightmare Moon would put Twilight to sleep when she thought it was time for her daughter to sleep. When she arrived in her room, Nightmare Moon laid her daughter on the giant bed and lay beside her.
It had been a few hours and when Twilight woke up, she felt hooves hugging. She looked at her mother and saw that Nightmare Moon was hugging her. Although Twilight liked this show of affection, she was thirsty and wanted a glass of water. She stepped out of the hug. And she did it. Twilight decided to take one last check before jumping out of bed. Lucky it made no noise. Then she approached the door, and tried to open with her hooves. But the door looked like it was locked. Twilight looked at her horn and tried to open the door with magic. But it failed too. Twilight decided to try again: First with the hooves and then with its magic. But she failed a second time. And now? She wanted to drink water, but didn’t want to have to wake her mother. What should she do?
In bed, Nightmare Moon felt that something was missing. She opened one eye and saw that her daughter wasn’t in bed. She opened the other eye and started to look at the sides worriedly. Where the hell was your daughter? When she looked down she was relieved that her daughter wasn’t missing. She let out a sigh of relief, “Daughter, what are you doing on the floor?”
Twilight Sparkle heard her mother’s voice and saw that her mother was without her armor, “It’s just that I’m thirsty and I wanted to open the door. But she is locked”
Nightmare Moon got out of bed, walked over to where Twilight Sparkle was and opened the door with her magic, “actually, daughter. The door wasn’t locked, just closed”
Twilight Sparkle was surprised, “So why couldn’t I open it?”
Nightmare Moon looked at Twilight, “You’re still small, daughter. And your magic isn’t evolved yet”
Twilight Sparkle was confused, “Huh? What do you mean my magic isn’t evolved?”
“Your magic isn’t yet strong. You can’t do Simple spells yet like: Teleportation,” replied Nightmare Moon. “But I know you have great potential”
Twilight Sparkle was excited, “are you going to teach me?!”
Nightmare Moon smiled, “yes, daughter. But that will only happen later”
“When later?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“When you are ready”, replied Nightmare Moon.
Twilight Sparkle was excited about her mother being her teacher. She bet no unicorn foal had a mother who taught magic. She was lucky to have Nightmare Moon as her mother. Nightmare Moon signaled her daughter that she could drink water. Twilight left the room and headed toward the kitchen. In the kitchen it was very dark. Twilight saw a glass and tried to catch the glass with her magic. But it failed and the glass fell to the floor. Resulting in a noise. Twilight heard the sound of hooves racing into the kitchen. Twilight Sparkle didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know whether to hide or stay and face the consequences. She decided to hide under a table that had in the kitchen.
When Nightmare Moon arrived in the kitchen, she saw the broken glass, but she wondered where her daughter was, “daughter. Where are you?”
Twilight decided to keep quiet, “Come on, daughter. No need to hide. I am not mad with you”
Twilight believed her mother’s words and walked out of hiding. Nightmare Moon smiled as she saw Twilight, “daughter! Why were you hiding from me?”
Twilight Sparkle didn’t know how to explain, “I wanted to get a glass of my magic. But it turned out that the glass leaked, fell to the ground and shattered”
“Why didn’t you ask me for help? I could have done it for you”, asked Nightmare Moon.
“I thought I could do it myself”, said Twilight Sparkle, now regretful.
“Twilight, don’t be sad. I know you just wanted to make me proud”, said Nightmare Moon with a smile.
Twilight Sparkle managed to cheer up. Nightmare Moon went to a cupboard, grabbed a glass, filled it with water and gave her Twilight magic, “how can you not get the glass, I’ll give you the water, okay?”
Twilight Sparkle nodded, before opening her mouth a little. She felt swallowing the water. She couldn’t deny that now she wasn’t thirsty.
“So now that we’re awake, should we have breakfast or go back to sleep?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“Would you like to sleep more or stay awake?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Well, I’ll sleep if you want and I’ll eat if you want”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
“Well, I plan to go back to sleep”, said Nightmare Moon.
“Then I’ll go back to sleep with you”, said Twilight Sparkle.
Nightmare Moon smiled as she walked back to the bedroom, with Twilight Sparkle by her side. When they arrived in the bedroom, Nightmare Moon lay in bed and caught Twilight Sparkle with her magic. That done, they closed their eyes and slept.
The Hearth’s Warming Eve was tomorrow and Nightmare Moon knew that she needed to buy a gift for her daughter. But she didn’t know what to give. She was in her room thinking about it.
“What could I give my daughter Twilight as a gift?” asked Nightmare Moon to herself. She wanted the gift for her daughter to be good. But she didn’t know what to give.
Nightmare Moon was thinking of asking Twilight, but she also wanted to surprise Twilight.
“Princess? It’s all right?” asked a voice behind Nightmare Moon.
Nightmare recognized that voice. She looked back and saw one of her lunar guards. The Lunar guard was gray and had a look of concern. She blew out a breath and her ears drooped as she looked down. “No. It isn’t alright.”
The Lunar guard got even closer to Nightmare Moon. “What happened, princess?”
Nightmare Moon looked at the guard. “You know what night tomorrow is, don’t you?”
“Yes. It’s Hearth’s Warming Eve. Why?” asked the Lunar guard.
“I don’t know what to give Twilight as a gift,” replied Nightmare Moon. “I’ve been here since this night. But I can’t decide what to give.”
“Why don’t you go to Ponyville to buy her something?” suggested the Lunar guard.
Nightmare Moon was concerned. “But if I go, Twilight will be alone here.”
“So, take her along to Ponyville to buy her a gift.”
“But I want her gift to be a surprise.”
“Why don’t you ask Twilight what she wants most, so you go to Ponyville and buy it?”
Nightmare Moon looked uncertain. “It’s a good idea. But I still think I’m the one who should choose the gift for her. ”
“Trust me, princess. If you ask Twilight what she wants, she’ll be happy,” said the Lunar guard with a smile.
“Do you really think?” asked Nightmare Moon with a hopeful smile.
“Yes, Princess.”
Suddenly, they heard footsteps. The two looked back and saw Twilight run towards them with a smile. “Mom! tomorrow is Hearth’s Warming Eve!”
Nightmare Moon smiled when he saw her daughter. When Twilight got really close, she stroked the mane. “Yes, daughter. What would you like to receive as a gift?”
Twilight Sparkle started to think. What could she get as a gift? Until she had an idea. Whenever she went to sleep, despite her loving her mother’s embrace, she feared that Nightmare would get out of bed. She wanted to have something to be with her when Nightmare couldn’t be with her. She looked at Nightmare Moon. “I already know! A plush from you!” Twilight started to jump for joy. When she stopped jumping, she looked at Nightmare Moon with a cute look and smile. “You’re going to buy it for me, aren’t you?”
Nightmare Moon was biting her lip as she smiled so cute she witnessed it. Why are you so cute, daughter?
Twilight realized that Nightmare Moon didn’t answer it. She was worried. “Mom? It’s all right?”
Nightmare Moon has recovered. “Yes, daughter. It’s just that you’re very cute. But I will buy the plush for you, yes.”
Twilight Sparkle was happy again and started jumping around Nightmare Moon while shouting, “Yes!”
“Daughter,” began Nightmare Moon.
Twilight Sparkle stopped jumping and looked at Nightmare Moon. “Would you like to go with me to buy your gift?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Of course I would like to. That way we can spend more time together on this night, ” replied Twilight Sparkle with a smile.
Nightmare Moon couldn’t take the smile off her face. How could a filly like Twilight be so cute and adorable? She was very lucky that Twilight wasn’t afraid of her, because she knew that others would be afraid of her.
“Well, let’s go,” she had an idea. “Twilight, get on my back. We will fly to Ponyville.”
Twilight’s pupils increased. “Go flying? I’ve never flown before,” she smiled. “Yes!”
Nightmare took Twilight with her magic and put it on her back. “Twilight, hold on to my neck, please,” she feared Twilight would fall if it didn’t hold and result in it falling and crashing to the floor. Just imagining Twilight hurt, it made her sad.
“Sure, mom.” Twilight came very close to Nightmare’s neck and held on tight.
Nightmare Moon smiled. “Ready?”
Twilight Sparkle looked at Nightmare Moon with a smile. “Yes ,mom.”
Nightmare Moon spread her wings and flew away, but very slowly so Twilight wouldn’t fall off her back.
As they flew across the sky, Twilight looked down and saw Everfree Forest. She couldn’t help but deny that there were enough trees in this forest.
Nightmare Moon then landed on the floor. She looked at Twilight. “We’re here, Twilight,” she took Twilight with her magic and put it on the floor.
Twilight looked around and saw that he had many ponies awake. Some were working and others were hanging out with friends. She had come here a few times in this small town, but unfortunately she just stole food and then went back to the forest and didn’t talk to any pony.
Nightmare Moon nudged Twilight with a wing. “Come on, Twilight.”
Twilight looked at Nightmare Moon with a smile. “Yes, mom.”
Nightmare Moon smiled at what Twilight said to her, and started walking. Twilight followed her as she continued to smile.
As they walked, Nightmare decided to look around the city and couldn’t help but smile when she saw ponies awake during her eternal night. It made her so happy, knowing that the ponies were enjoying the eternal night.
Nightmare and Twilight, then stopped at a store and went inside. A bell rang, informing them of their arrival. The store they entered was a toy store. They couldn’t help but notice that it had a lot of toys.
“Your Majesty! Need something?”
Nightmare Moon heard the voice, looked where he saw the sound and saw a light brown mare and dark brown mane as she bowed. “Yes, subject. Do you have any of my plushies?”
“I’ll see right now,” replied the mare as she started to look around.
While the mare looked for the plush, Nightmare and Twilight looked at each other with smiles. Nightmare stroked the mane of Twilight with a hoof. Twilight closed her eyes while she smiled, she liked the affection.
“Princess here it is!” the mare went to Nightmare Moon and Twilight Sparkle while she held the Nightmare Moon plush. The plush was small and the eyes were replaced by purple buttons.
“How much cost?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Twelve bits, please,” she replied.
Nightmare Moon handed the mare twelve bits. The mare took the bits from the hooves and handed the plush to Nightmare and Nightmare handed the plush to Twilight with her magic. Twilight took the Nightmare Moon plush with her hooves while hugging her lovingly. Twilight remembered something and looked at her mother. “Thank you, mom.”
Nightmare Moon smiled. “You’re welcome, daughter. Now, are we going?”
“Yes. But first let me put my doll on my back,” Twilight tried to hold the doll with the magic to put on her back, but failed. Only sparks came out. She looked at Nightmare Moon. “Mom, help me?”
“Sure, daughter.” Nightmare Moon took the doll with her magic and placed it on Twilight Sparkle’s back.
Twilight smiled. She was very happy that she now had a company when Nightmare Moon couldn’t be with her. But just because Nightmare Moon had no real duties now, that didn’t mean that in the future Nightmare would start to get busy and out of time for her, so it was always a good idea to be on your guard. She looked at her mother. “Thank you mom.”
Nightmare Moon smiled in return. “You’re welcome, daughter.”
Today, Nightmare Moon had no political issues other than her school to look after. Yes, she founded a school for other unicorns to learn to use magic. The school was called: Nightmare Moon School for Talented Unicorns. Today would be the day that the unicorns would go to school to pass a test to see if they could enter the school. But first, she decided to go for a walk in Canterlot and stay for a few hours at school without her daughter, since Twilight insisted on staying at the castle to observe the night sky at the observatory. Although Nightmare looked a little sad inside, she let her daughter stay at the observatory.
She was now taking a walk in the statues garden. She saw statues that she never saw. She wondered who was the sculptor of these statues. She looked ahead and saw a statue of an Dragonequus. Nightmare Moon had to stop. This wasn’t an ordinary statue or made by a sculptor. This statue was nothing more than Discord, the Lord of Chaos. Discord had been petrified by Celestia and Luna, now known as Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon sat on her hips while looking at Discord. She could feel tears in her eyes, when she was Luna, she didn’t want to petrify Discord, since he was friends with her since she was filly, and her coltfreind when she became a mare. She wanted there to be a way to talk to Discord. But how could that be possible? Discord was petrified.
“Oh, Discord. I miss you so much,” said Nightmare Moon through tears. “I would so much like you to meet my daughter Twilight. I’m sure you and she would have a great time. But that will be impossible, since you’re a statue, and it looks like you will be forever a statue.”
Nightmare Moon started to cry more. “Well, I’m going. But in case you ever stop being a statue, please don’t hurt my subjects... I don’t want to petrify you again...” that said, she went flying.
She never imagined that Discord would become evil. When she met him, he was so much fun. But as time went on, he wanted to cause chaos throughout Equestria, even if no one thought it was funny. Nightmare Moon wiped the tears away with a hoof. There was only one thing left for her to do, which was to check the school.
She landed on the floor, and entered the school. She wondered how the foals were doing. Suddenly, she heard the sound of magic. Nightmare Moon walked over to where the sound came from and was surprised to see a unicorn filly of light yellowish gray coat, red mane and tail with purple highlights making a plant grow with her magic. But it wasn’t the color that impressed her, It was the mane and Cutie Mark. The filly’s mane was similar to her daughter’s, but what she liked most was that the filly’s Cutie Mark was a crescent moon with three stars. She went to the filly with a smile.
The filly heard footsteps and looked where he saw and smiled. “Princess Nightmare Moon! Did you see me making this plant grow?”
“Yes, little one. You’re a very talented filly for your age,” replied Nightmare Moon.
The filly blushed as she smiled with praise. “Thank you princess. I’ve been reading a lot of books to get into your school.”
Nightmare Moon couldn’t help noticing that for a filly of that age, she was quite studious. “What’s your name?”
“Moondancer, princess,” replied Moondancer.
Nightmare Moon smiled. She liked that name because it had the word Moon in the name. She wondered if the Cutie Mark was also a moon. She looked at the flank and saw that the Cutie Mark of Moondancer was a crescent moon with three stars. She started to think about something. But she didn’t know it was a good idea, since she already had Twilight. “Moondancer, where are your parents?”
“Actually, only my mom is here with me.” Moondancer pointed to a unicorn mare of yellow color and red mane with Cutie Mark of a waning moon.
Nightmare Moon approached the mare. “I suppose you’re the mother of Moondancer. I am right?”
“Yes Princess, and my name is Crescent Moon,” replied Crescent Moon with a smile. “My daughter was reading several books yesterday so that she could study her magic more. She’s very interested in becoming a student at your school.”
Nightmare Moon never imagined that a filly would want to be her student. Normally, foals would prefer to be students of Celestia. But she was happy that now that she was ruling Equestria, everything was starting to change. The thought she had before returned. She didn’t know if it was a good idea, since she feared she wouldn’t have time for Twilight, since she would have to teach Moondancer magic.
She looked at Moondancer and could see that Moondancer was smiling at her. Nightmare Moon couldn’t help but deny that until Moondancer was cute. Should she do that? But she started to remember that now that she had a school, and with that, maybe she wouldn’t be able to spend as much time with Twilight as before. She couldn’t believe she was going to think about it, but who knows if Twilight had a friend, maybe Twilight would have somepony with her during the days she was busy in the future? She was determined, but she just hoped Twilight wouldn’t be sad about it. She looked at Moondancer. “Moondancer.”
“I could see that you have a great talent with your magic, Moondancer,” began Nightmare Moon with a smile. “And i can see that you have great potential too.”
“Thank you, princess.” Moondancer blushed with praise.
“Moondancer, I would like you to become my personal student,” finished Nightmare Moon.
Moondancer’s mouth fell open. Did she hear right? Her ears could only be mistaken. “You accept?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Yes!” shouted Moondancer cheerfully. Nightmare Moon smiled, she liked to see happy foals.
“Princess, where is your castle?”
“In Everfree Forest.”
Moondancer’s joy was replaced by fear. “Everfree Florest? But princess, this forest is dangerous.”
“I know, Moondancer.” Nightmare Moon agreed as she stroked Moondancer’s mane.
“Do we have to walk to the castle?” asked Moondancer.
“No, we will fly,” Nightmare Moon looked at Crescent Moon. “Goodbye, Crescent Moon.”
“Goodbye, princess. Take good care of my daughter,” said Crescent Moon as she said goodbye with a hoof.
Nightmare Moon caught Moondancer with her magic. “Hold on, Moondancer.”
“Ok, princess.” Moondancer went to the princess’s neck and hugged him with her hooves.
Nightmare Moon, seeing that her student was holding on, spread her wings and flew away.
Twilight was at the observatory, drawing stars with the pencil she held with her magic, beside her was the Nightmare Moon doll. Thanks to her studies with her mother, she now knew how to hold objects with her magic. Twilight couldn’t deny that she loved having a mother as a teacher. She was a very lucky filly, because she had a mother who was Princess of Equestria and her teacher. In addition to learning magic, she also learned astronomy. Twilight loved every class she was taking each night.
Suddenly, she heard footsteps. Twilight, smiling, dropped the notebook and pencil, and looked back. She was surprised and confused at the same time to see Nightmare Moon with a filly with a yellow filly and red mane and stir light purple and dark purple. Nightmare Moon smiled while the filly had a shy look. Twilight approached Nightmare Moon. “Mom, who’s this?”
“Daughter, this is Moondancer. My new student. She will be living with us here,” replied Nightmare Moon.
Twilight Sparkle approached Moondancer with a smile. “Hi, my name is Twilight Sparkle.”
Moondancer smiled and waved amicably. “Hi, Twilight Sparkle.”
Twilight Sparkle looked at Nightmare Moon. “Mom, have you shown Moondancer the entire castle yet?”
“Yes, I even showed her room,” replied Nightmare Moon. “Did you manage to have fun without me?”
“Yes, but i missed you. But with my doll, I could feel less alone.” Twilight Sparkle hugged her doll lovingly.
Nightmare Moon smiled at that. Good. She was happy that Twilight had a company. She just hoped that Twilight and Moondancer would get along.
