Luna, Celestia and Candace would like to have a daughter. Decided, they go to the place where they have foals to adopt. Each chooses one as a daughter. Will unicorn foals become friends? Or will they fight a lot?
Being a princess is no cakewalk. And Luna, Celestia and Candace know that. They want to have a daughter so they can have company. Together they go to a place where they can adopt a foal. Each chooses and adopts a unicorn foal.
* In this AU, Candace never went to the Crystal Empire. That is, the Crystal Empire never existed. She was helping Luna and Celestia with the royal duties. And Luna never became Nightmare Moon.
In Equestria, there were three princesses. Luna, Celestia and Candace. They lived in the castle of Canterlot. Luna raised and lowered the moon, and also protected ponies from nightmares. Celestia took care of policy issues. And Candace was the princess of love. Although they liked to rule, they felt alone in the castle. Although they had the company of the guards, they would like to have daughters. Celestia would like to have a daughter who was faithful to her, Luna wanted a daughter who loved her night and Candace wanted a daughter who loved her. And they planned to go to the adoption site today this morning.
At the Canterlot adoption site, Sunset Shimmer, Twilight Sparkle and Trixie had fun stacking blocks in the playroom. Twilight’s Cutie Make was a six-pointed pink star surrounded by five white stars, Sunset Shimmer’s Cutie Mark is a red and yellow sun, and Trixie of a crescent moon with a wand. They were having fun until they heard a sound of the door opening. Curious, they spied and saw the princesses of Equestria talking to the mare who owned the foster home. Each of the unicorn foals had a different reaction. Sunset Shimmer showed a proud smile, Twilight Sparkle smiling, despite being nervous inside. And Trixie Joy.
They stopped peeking and started talking about the princesses being at the adoption site.
“My Celestia! My Celestia! The princesses are here! We need to organize this room!” exclaimed Twilight Sparkle in panic.
“Twilight, calm down. We’re just foals. They will understand”, said Sunset Shimmer.
“Yeah, Twily. The princesses may have come here to adopt us”, Trixie tried to guess. But what she didn’t know was that what Trixie said was true.
“They’re playing in the playroom, your majesties”, answered the yellow unicorn mare. She led the way to the living room.
Twilight Sparkle heard the mare’s voice and panicked, “My Celestia! My Celestia! Fast! Organize this room! They’re coming!”
“Wow, Twi. Calm down. They won’t banish you to the moon”, said Trixie. She couldn’t stand the nervousness that Twilight had. She didn’t understand why Twilight was so perfectionist about the princesses.
“Don’t worry, Twilight. I’ll help you”, said Sunset Shimmer with a smile.
“Thank you, Sunset. At least somepony here is polite and likes to help”, Twilight Sparkle glared for Trixie.
When the three princesses and the yellow mare arrived in the playroom, they were surprised that the room was tidied up. The foals were talking, “These are the unicorn foals are playing in the games room. Would any of you want to adopt one of them?”
“Could you tell us what they look like?” asked Celestia.
“Yes. Would you like the foals to hurry?” replied the yellow mare.
“Sure. That way we can get to know them better”, said Celestia with a smile.
“OK. Sunset, Twilight and Trixie!”
“Yes?” asked Sunset, Twilight and Trixie in unison.
“We have a visit. Say hello to Celestia, Luna and Candace”, replied the yellow mare.
Twilight Sparkle bowed to show respect. Sunset Shimmer smiled proudly. Trixie was all excited.
“Twilight, could you talk about yourself?” asked the yellow mare.
“I am Twilight Sparkle. And I like to read and study. When I don’t do that, I stay with my family”, presented Twilight Sparkle.
Candace looked with a smile at Twilight Sparkle. She was the princess of love. Maybe she could host Twilight? And together they could spend time together.
“Sunset, your turn”, said the yellow mare.
“Sure. My name is Sunset Shimmer. And I like to practice my magic in my free time, ”presented Sunset Shimmer. “My family isn’t one of the welcoming ones. They hardly have time for me”
Celestia realized that Sunset Shimmer was great with her magic. And Sunset Shimmer didn’t have a family that was always around. She would be happy to be Sunset Shimmer’s mother.
“And now you, Trixie”, said the yellow mare.
“Trixie loves the stars, the night, the moon and do magic tricks!” then, she made several fireworks appear and explode.
Twilight Sparkle rolled her eyes, which displayed…
Luna couldn’t help but smile as she discovered she had a pony who loved her night. She was even happier when she saw Trixie’s Cutie Mark was a moon. But she wasn’t smiling just because of that, but also because Trixie was so cute. Your cheeks must be aching now from smiling.
How can a filly be so cute?
“So, princesses. Which of these foals would you like to adopt?” asked the yellow mare.
“Twilight Sparkle”, replied Candace.
Twilight Sparkle started jumping with joy around Sunset Shimmer and Trixie as she shouted “yes”.
“Sunset Shimmer”, replied Celestia.
Sunset Shimmer smiled with pride. She knew she deserved to be the daughter of one of the princesses.
“Adorable Trixie!” exclaimed Luna, before grabbing Trixie with her magic and hugging her.
Trixie was surprised. But soon accepted the hug and hugged Luna back. Luna looked around and saw that Candace, Celestia, Twilight and Sunset were looking at her. Luna set Trixie down while smiling nervously.
“Here are the adoption papers. It’s just the three of you sign and each of you will have your daughters”, the yellow mare showed the papers.
After Candace, Celestia, and Luna signed the papers, they went to the castle with their new daughters. They were walking the streets of Canterlot. Twilight Sparkle was jumping for joy, Sunset Shimmer was smiling and Trixie was excited. She never imagined she would be adopted by an Equestria princess.
“Candace, what is your duty in Canterlot?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“Spread the love, Twilight,” replied Candace.
“What is your duty, Celestia?” asked Sunset Shimmer.
“Raise and lower the sun, Sunset,” replied Celestia.
Sunset Shimmer looked at her Cutie Mark for a moment and at her mother’s Cutie Mark. She was glad her Cutie Mark was similar to Celestia’s.
“Luna, Trixie would like to know, what is your duty as a princess,” asked Trixie.
Luna couldn’t help, but smile. “Raise and lower the moon and protect ponies from nightmares, Trixie”
“Do you bring the night? Trixie loves the night!” Trixie hugged her mother with her hooves.
“I’m happy with that, daughter. I’m happy that,” said Luna with a smile as she returned the hug.
When they arrived at the castle, each princess went to show their rooms. Candace and Twilight Sparkle were in a hallway that had romantic tones. And it had royal armor guards from Celestia.
“Twilight, this is my room. You’re going to sleep with me. Did you like it?” said Candace. The room had heart designs. The wallpaper was pink. And the bed was big enough for two ponies. In bed, there were heart pillows.
Twilight Sparkle stared at the pink room, “oh, pretty”
Candace smiled. She was glad that Twilight Sparkle liked the bedroom.
Sunset Shimmer and Celestia were walking down a corridor where everything was light in color. It had royal guards. Sunset Shimmer smiled. She liked light colors. Mostly red.
“This is my room, Sunset. Hope you enjoy sleeping here”, said Celestia.
Sunset Shimmer liked the room. No. She loved the room, “the bedroom is beautiful, Celestia!”
Celestia smiled at Sunset Shimmer’s speech.
The corridor Luna and Trixie were walking through were dark in color. And there were lunar guards. Trixie loved what this hallway was like. She wondered if the rest couldn’t match this corridor. Luna opened a blue door with waning moon with its magic. Trixie gasped at Luna’s room. This was one of the most beautiful rooms she ever saw, “apparently you loved it, right?”
“Yes. Trixie loved it!” replied Trixie with a smile.
Luna smiled. She was glad Trixie loved the moon and the stars. She was really lucky to have chosen Trixie as her daughter, “I’m glad about that, Trixie”
“Are you going to show me just that? Or will you show me the other sides of the castle?” asked Trixie.
“I’ll show you the whole castle. Especially the observatory,” answered Luna.
Trixie smiled as she jumped for joy, “Trixie likes the sound of that!”
After the princesses showed their daughters all the places in the castle, each went to their rooms. Or rather, to their mothers’ room. Twilight was reading a book about the history of Equestria. Twilight Sparkle couldn’t deny that she was having a great time, she always enjoyed reading about this topic. Suddenly, she heard a door open. Twilight looked at where the door was and saw Candace. Twilight smiled when she saw her mother. Twilight went to her mother to hug her. Candace returned the hug with a hoof.
“I see you’re having fun reading, Twilight.”
“Yes, mom”
They stopped hugging each other. “Twilight, I think you better stop reading and continue later.”
Twilight was surprised. “What? Why?”
“It’s already dark, daughter.” Candace pointed the hull at a window. The moon was already in the sky.
“We have to go to dinner,” said Candace.
Twilight let out a sigh of relief. “Oh okay. What a scare you gave me ”
Meanwhile, in the dining room, Luna and Celestia were already there with their daughters. Sunset Shimmer and Trixie were talking about your mouthers, Celestia and Luna were talking about their day.
“So Trixie, how’s Luna with you?” asked Sunset Shimmer.
“She’s very good to me, Sunset,” replied Trixie. “She showed me her room, especially the observatory. She’s the best mom in the world!”
Sunset Shimmer did with a “What?” Face But, but… Celestia is a much better mother than Luna. Celestia was good, and proved to be the best princess. “No Trixie, Celestia is the best mother a foal could dream of having.”
“Are you trying to say that Luna would become evil? You’re lying! Luna would never become evil!”
“Sunset.”
“Trixie.”
Sunset and Trixie looked at their mothers nervously. “Why are you two fighting?”
“Sunset said that Celestia was better as a mother than my mother and that Celestia would never become evil, but Luna did,” replied Trixie.
“I just gave my opinion, Trixie!” yelled Sunset Shimmer.
“Sunset,” began Celestia.
Sunset Shimmer looked at Celestia. “I like that you show that you like me as a mother. But you shouldn’t think I am superior to Luna as a mother figure.”
“But, mom ...”
“No Sunset, apologize to Trixie,” said Celestia.
Sunset just let out a breath. Sunset Shimmer didn’t like to apologize when she thought it was right. “Trixie, I’m sorry.”
“Sunset, you should show that you’re sorry.”
“What? Don’t even come!”
“Sunset, I am your mother.”
Sunset Shimmer sighed again. She did her best to make a sad face. When Sunset Shimmer did, she said to Trixie, “Trixie, I’m sorry. Could you forgive me?”
Trixie didn’t know whether to forgive. Because after all, Sunset spoke ill of Luna. She looked at Luna. Luna made a sign that Trixie should forgive Sunset. Trixie looked at Sunset. “Trixie forgives you.”
Sunset smiled. Suddenly, the doors opened. Luna, Trixie, Celestia and Sunset looked at where the sound came from. Candace and Twilight went to the table and sat down. Candace sat next to Luna and Twilight next to her mother. Sunset smiled when she saw Twilight. “Hi, Twilight.”
Twilight Sparkle smiled when she saw Sunset. “Hi, Sunset.”
When Twilight saw Trixie she looked with a possible face as when somepony meets her archenemy.
Trixie was offended by the way Twilight spoke to her. Candace noticed and looked at Twilight. “Twilight, apologize to Trixie.”
Twilight looked at Candace. “What? Why?”
“Don’t you see that Trixie was offended by the way you spoke to her? Apologize to Trixie,” said Candace.
“But, mom...”
“I’m sorry, Twilight. I know you don’t like Trixie, but you should at least have greeted Trixie in a friendly way.”
Twilight Sparkle realized how bad she was with Trixie. She looked at Trixie, “Trixie...”
Trixie was struggling to not cry. “What is?”
“I’m sorry,” said Twilight Sparkle.
Trixie smiled as she wiped the tears from her eyes. “Trixie forgives you.”
After they finished dinner, each went to their rooms. Candace was reading with Twilight in bed, Celestia and Sunset Shimmer were already asleep and Luna was watching the stars with Trixie.
Twilight was almost done reading, and she was wondering if there was a library in the castle. “Mother.”
Cadence looked at Twilight Sparkle. “Yes, daughter?”
“Is there a library at the castle?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“Yes, daughter,” said Cadence.
“Could you take me there?” asked Twilight Sparkle, excitedly.
“Sure, Twilight,” Cadence stood up. “Let’s go.”
Upon arriving at the library, Twilight Sparkle felt like she was in paradise. “Oh my Celestia! Look how many books it have! Imagine how much information it should have in books!”
Twilight Sparkle went to a shelf and picked up several books with his magic. “Which book do you think I should read first, mom?”
Cadence approached Twilight Sparkle. “The book you find most interesting, daughter.”
Twilight Sparkle looked at the books she was carrying. “But there are so many, mother. There is no way for me to choose.”
“Would you like me to read it, daughter?” Cadence smiled lovingly.
Twilight Sparkle looked at Cadence. “Yes Mother, please.” She handed the books to Cadence. “What book would you like to read to me?”
Cadence didn’t know which one to choose. The names of the books seemed to make the story interesting. “I don’t know, daughter. There are so many options.”
Twilight Sparkle approached the bookcase and began to examine the title of the books. Until a book caught her eye: Harry Trotter. She took the book with her magic and handed it to her mother. “I would like you to read this to me, Mom.”
Cadence picked up the book with her magic while smiling, she sat down at the table. Twilight Sparkle did the same and started listening to the story.
When Cadence finished reading, she looked at Twilight Sparkle and saw that she was sleeping. Cadence put the book back on the shelf, picked up Twilight Sparkle with her magic and carried it over to the bed. That done, she lay down next to Twilight Sparkle and slept.
