After Goku defeated the Shadow Dragons, Shenron appears to inform the gang that the Earth must be parted from the dragonballs so as to prevent the reemergence of the Shadow Dragons. Goku, as the happy-go-lucky adventure-seeker he is, decides to join the dragon on its last voyage seeing as the Earth is safe in Vegeta's capable hands. What Goku doesn't know however is that not only is he leaving the planet, he's leaving the entire universe to a new world where the dragonballs would be treated as they were meant to, a thing of extraordinary magic and power: something to be revered. And that world is Equestria.

Spike is almost 1,000 years old and has had to live his life seeing everyone he loves die before him. Now, grown up and living alone in a cave, he attempts to remember these painful memories that he has tried to avoid for so long.

Ken was a human orphan, no parents, no siblings, no relatives. He was alone in a cruel world that want nothing to do with him, until the day a saiyan got sealed inside him, his body changing into that of a saiyan/human hybrid. From then Ken's life changed as he was brought into a science lab for the next two years of his life, treated as a specimen and scaring him mentally.
