Chapter 64: Relentless Power

In the midst of a tournament ring, numerous explosions racked its stone flooring as magical blast upon blast struck against it in a effort to land a hit upon a small agile target. This adversary that went against the creator of the attacks continued to defy its efforts, again and again, Kira Altarmore Heartstrings dodged the various energy volleys. Meanwhile, within the crowd of a shocked quiet audience, her twin brother and family watched with unbroken attention.

The yellow haired pony announcer spoke up, his voice echoing throughout the Tournament, "I can hardly believe my eyes, loyal viewers the speed at which young Kira moves is unlike anything the history of this tournament! Yet Colrath continues to defy her efforts with his formidable defense! I don't know how long Kira can keep up her relentless assault!"

'He's right, Colrath is going to win this match by exhausting Kira's energy. She has to do something or she'll fatigue herself.'

Ken clenched his teeth, 'You're right dad, nee-chan has lots more endurance than me, but she doesn't have a huge amount of Ki...'

"How is she?" A young male voice questioned.

Ken looked to his side to find Copper Will having entered the row of seats and sitting next to him.

"Copper? What you doing here, don't you got to heal?" Ken questioned.

"I'm fine, I finished healing this morning. Plus, I couldn't miss Kira's match." He said, looking toward the ring , his eyes widened in shock. "How is she moving so fast?"

The hybrid brother of Kira gave a smile as he also watched the fight once again, "Kira has been training everyday, she's stronger than me and is super fast. How do you think she beat that pegasus?"

Copper Will nodded, "True... It's just... Hard to believe that you two are so powerful, I got a lot of catching up to do!" The young minotaur chuckled lightly as he continued observing the match.

"Come on Kira! Beat that excuse of a dragon up!" Lyra screamed loudly, almost causing Ken and Copper to cover their ears.

"Yeah!" Bon-Bon exclaimed, slamming a hoof on the pony in front of her head. "Show him what for, Kira!"

The battle continued, Kira's usage of the Kaio-Ken technique becoming more active as she continued to use it continuously in a effort to gain an advantage over Colrath's defensive barriers.

The sealed Z-fighter, Chris Dell, commented on this fact, 'Kira can't keep doing that, her current limit if times five, yes, but repeated use would strain her body.'

'Is she going to be alright if she keeps doing times five Kaio-Ken?' Ken asked in concern.

'The most that could happen is she would fall unconscious after her body becomes too exhausted... However if she went above the limit...' Chris trailed off within the seal.

'Then nee-chan's body would suffer for it... Come on, Kira, win...'

"Oh frost tarts!" Kira exclaimed as she defended her center region by crossing her arms, the explosions hitting her directly. The young girl flew wildly in the air, before catching herself with a small burst of Ki energy. Kira brought her arms back to a fighting stance, her form levitating in the sky as Colrath glared at her just across her position.

'Kaio-Ken isn't working, I can't get a big enough boost! Kamehameha doesn't have enough power, and Swirling Sphere is useless against that barrier!' Kira's eyes trailed over Colrath's form, before drifting toward the direction of the audience watching her match against the humanoid dragon.

"That pony has a cool orange hoodie..." Kira childishly said, "Wait, don't get distracted! Hold it... Orange... Red... That's it!" The half saiyan girl exclaimed.

"What is it? Have some sort of plan?" Colrath questioned, his own claws opened wide in a strange foreign stance.

Kira giggled, "Maaaybe."

Our eight year heroine's Ki aura burst around in a flare of sheer energy, the young girl stretched out of left arm, hand open and palm facing Colrath's general direction. Kira's right hand grasped the bottom half of her left arm's elbow, steadying the appendage. She couldn't help but clench her teeth harshly, small drops of sweat coming down her forehead as her energy rose.

The surrounding air seemed to somehow compress and move toward the opening space in front of Kira's hand, large amounts of red raw energy formed outside the girl's left palm and taking a spherical shape. As it did, any clouds were pulled toward Kira and evaporated instantly when brought into the growing ball of energy. This technique grew in size, but Kira forced the Ki to compress into a concentrated orb.

"Tch..." Kira took a quick breath of air through her teeth as she struggled to form the technique. 'I've always done the weakened version of the technique... But I can handle it now! I know I can!'

As this technique continued to form within Kira's grasp, the sheer potency and pressure it was made up began to take its toll on the surrounding environment as meters below the tournament ring's broken tiles began to levitate into the air. Large amounts of rock began to shatter, and artificial winds were being generate at the exact ground position below the girl, forcing the audience to cover their eyes from the dust thrown about the area.

"Grrr... Aaaaaaaaaaahhh!" Kira began to scream, her power reaching its current limits, Ki surging through her body and channeling into the red orb that seemed to want to burst at any given moment, yet continued to pull in the surrounding air greedily.

The announcer tried to shout over her, "I-I can't believe it, Kira is channeling for some sort of attack! The sheer energy she's pushing out is unprecedented, I'm sure all of us can feel its effects!"

Kira yelling abruptly halted, the air itself seemed to stop in mid-motion, before everything was blinded by a red flash of light.

"Flash Cannon!" Kira yelled, the true power of the technique, not the weakened version she used in the past, erupted forth from her palm in a great crimson wave of energy.

The wave soared through the sky like a speeding super sonic missile, the rocks that were brought into the air were completed blown away into the audience shields which were deflected upon contact. The Flash Cannon technique seemed to grow in size from Colrath's perspective, who, even if he wanted too, could no dodge such an attack.

"Oh sh-argh!" Colrath couldn't help but yell as he felt the technique come full force upon his magical fortifications.

A bright flash of light, and then a huge mass of red and gray fire and dust.

A powerful burst of wind erupted from the center point of the explosion, knocking many of the watching viewers off their seats, the announcer sent flying against the fighter observatory wall, and the place where the leaders of the nations sat had its many banners of decor ripped from its place.

Kira Altarmore Heartstrings looked at the black smoke that filled the area,, a drop of blood trailing down her lip from her biting it only moments before.

Then, her eyes widened.

"H-how... That was the strongest attack I ever done..." Kira said shock, breathing harshly to catch her breath.

The smoke cleared, revealing Colrath, broken pieces of the magical barriers falling apart, the shards dissipating into the air. His defensive shields utterly devastated from the young child's technique.

"You managed to destroy four of my barriers... That... Has never happened, no one managed to do that before..." Colrath himself was in a state of shock, before his expression twisted in anger. "You will pay for this humiliation!"

Colrath brought his claws together, blue sparks of magical energy channeling around them as he separated them and began to fire a volley of strong arcane blasts.

'But that looks like a unicorn's attack!' Kira thought before she began to dodge the attacks, her breathing heavy from the earlier exhaustion caused by channeling the Flash Cannon technique.

The magical attacks by Colrath flew right toward her, Kira stopped her Ki, letting gravity take hold and bring her to the ground. Once she landed, so looked back up to see Colrath firing another volley of attacks. A shocked expression came upon her face as she noticed they were faster than before and she still hadn't managed to catch her breath.

Thinking quickly to opted to defend herself, so the half saiyan girl crossed her arms in a defensive position and took the full blunt of the magical blasts. Each of the attacks crash against her and the tournament ring around her, generating a huge amount of dust clouds which blanketed the ring.

'No, not like this... Dang it... I need more power, I need more! I need that strength, I need it!' She kept defending herself as the blasts impacted around her. 'No more... If Colrath thinks I just a little girl he will pay for the thought! I will show him, show him and then show Scorpan!'

Power welled within Kira, and she grasped for it, bringing it forth into the open, eyes shifted, hair spiked and changed, and her muscles grew in size and strength... All the while, a golden aura shown around her... Before it vanished from sight, a transformation complete.

The smoke cleared, Colrath looked down to try and spot his opponent.

Kira looked right back at him, a arrogant smile on her face as the wind itself seem to halt, spiky golden hair ever still upon the child's head.

"You looked surprised." Kira said, loud and clear so that Colrath could hear her.

"You changed... It is not like red hued technique you used before..." Colrath trailed off, confusion riddled his face.

"No, it is not." Kira replied, "But you will soon discover that it will bring about your demise."

"What!?" Colrath exclaimed, "Demise? You have to be joking, you can't even pass by my barriers."

Kira tilted her head, her smile continued to be the exact same, "Can't pass your barriers you say?" She began, before she giggled in a strange matter, her arms crossed. She noticed Colrath seemed about to try and attack again, but seemed hesitate. "What's the matter? Did you think I was going to roll over and faint from those blasts you made? You are nothing, just a trickster hiding behind a little barrier. I will enjoy putting you in your place!"

A golden aura erupted forth from Kira's position, before the Super Saiyan blasted forth into the air, a small crater forming from her left over position. She pulled back her fist just as Colrath stopped what he was doing and prepared to defend himself, twelve barriers forming once more, having been restored from the Flash Cannon's earlier damage.

In a single punch, the Super Saiyan Kira broke through the first two barriers, magical shards flying everywhere.

"Argh!" Colrath said, feeling a bit strained as the power behind the blow seemed to push him back despite the other barriers still in place.

"I won't let you just back away from me!" Kira exclaimed, "I'm going to break every single barrier and then punch you right out of the ring!" She finished, her fist following through the other, slamming against the third barrier defense.

"I won't let you!" Colrath said, pushing large amounts of magical energy into his barriers, which strained against the sheer physical force behind the half human child's strike.

"You can't restore your barriers if I break them one after the other! Kaio-Ken times two!"

In that instant, Kira's aura erupted like that of a sea of red and gold flame, energy leaping into higher limits, heart pumping at a frantic rate as it desperately tried to keep up with the body's straining abilities.

"Grraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Kira roared in fury, leg soaring through the air as she guided in into the epic center of Colrath's fortifications, which instantly shattered two upon contact.

"Im-impossible!" Colrath yelled.

"Kaio-Ken times three!" Kira exclaimed once more, upping the level of her technique, small red electric-like sparks forming around her body as she spun, only to lay another powerful slam with both fists at Colrath.

The fifth barrier broke apart like glass.

"Times four!" Kira shouted, a sphere of Ki blasting forth from her hand, which impacted against his shields, only for it to fail.

She didn't stop, "Kaio-Ken times five!" With this, the maximum limit she could take, combined with the legendary transformation of Super Saiyan, caused the half saiyan girl to tear down her opponent's sixth and seventh barriers like it was nothing.

Pain...

The feeling coursed through Kira's body, veins seem to somehow show themselves pulsing, sweat poured fervously down her skin.

'Dang it... Stupid... Body, move! Come on! Just a few more barriers!' Kira thought to herself in determination. The hybrid's unique biology and potential flooded her body with more energy and providing her with just a bit more endurance against the constant strain.

"K-Kaio-Ken.... Times..."

Colrath's eyes widened, "No, no, no, no, no-"

"Seven!" Kira skipped past the sixth number altogether, the mix of red and gold seem to burst outward into a fury of Ki. She pulled back her fist, and then thrust it forward with such speed and force that Colrath's eighth and ninth shields tore apart into pieces of left over remnants.

"This can't be happening! This can't be happening!"

Kira clenched her teeth harshly, the pain was maddening, but she continued on, "Times eight!"

*CRASH!*

Another barrier, broken apart.

"Nine!" Kira screamed, parts of her skin tearing apart, blood flowing down her arms as well as dripping down from her mouth. Her entire body seemed to be breaking down from the increasing strain.

"Arrrrgh!" Kira smashed her fist right through the ninth barrier, eyes set on the last and final defense between her and Colrath's face. "Now..." She cough out small bits of blood, "You will lose!"

"Kai-o-Ken times teeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaah!" The Super Saiyan Kaio-ken enhanced saiyan followed through, the other hand clenched and her punch traveling at light speed.

A sonic boom occurred as the child's fist completely utterly decimates the last barrier, a wave of wind sending the audience on the ground once more as the sound echoed throughout the tournament stands.

Colrath's eyes were filled with fear, "What are you?! What are you?!"

"I am Kira," Kira began bringing another fist back, "And I am a Super Saiyan!"

And slammed it directly into Colrath's face, bones cracking as the dragon was sent spiraling toward the ground, and crashing with the force to create a crater outside the bounds of the ring.

The announcer ran over to Colrath's position where he had landed, with the wind blowing away the dust, he checked Colrath. The humanoid dragon was only unconscious, even if his horns were broken.

"Colrath was knocked out of bounds, Kira Heartstrings is the winner!" He exclaimed loudly, the audience cheering soon afterward.

Kira grinned, before her vision blurred, transformation and Kaio-Ken technique leaving her, and she plummeted to the ring... Black enveloping her vision.

… Nigga, she dead. I'm sorry, man. But that is just pushing it too far.

C'mon, Goku could barely manage a Super Kaio-Ken when he was DEAD and had more ki access. And was using the Full-Power Super Saiyan, which reduces ki drain. Kira just went through a barrage of Kaio-Ken uses, and a boatload of attacks. That's too much strain all at once. She can't possibly survive after this. Even if she somehow should, she'd be rendered a cripple, at the least.

Nice for her to win and all, but there is a line to be drawn.

You can't use Kaioken on top of regular super saiyan! It only works with blue! Super Saiyan is all about rage energy, so is Kaioken. RagexRage= no more Kira.
