Picture, if you will, the most mundane of existences that could ever be imagined on our planet. What you just thought up was probably very much like my own, happy, regular, uninteresting-in-every-possible-way life. Simply mix in a healthy dose of 'staying away from women or romance of any kind at all costs' and you've got it down pat.

Well, that didn't last long.

I guess all that boring-ness was saved up in some cosmic karma pool or something, because I've suddenly woken up in a strange pony land where everything's flip-flopped and I'm treated like a helpless child. And all with a new body, to boot!

This narrative is essentially the culmination of everything I've wanted to see happen in similarly-themed stories but never did. It is my belief that perhaps the best reason for writing a story is that you really want to read one that has not yet been written. That was certainly the case for Libero.

In any case, I won't spoil too much, but the purposeful lack of Comedy, Human, or Slice Of Life tags should be indication enough that this fic will not be following the path of its predecessors.

Updates will likely be very sparse, as that's just the kind of writer I am.

Adam Merkur believed he could not obtain any form of success on Earth, so he accepts a deal from Discord: To be sent to Equestria as the next Lord of Chaos.

However, running from your problems always has its' consequence. Now Adam is in a world that sees him as a villain, trapped in a body he hates, and stuck with a dark destiny. Can Adam achieve the success he desires, moreover, what is 'success' to him now?

A normal end to a normal day -- at least, that's what it was supposed to be.

But it wasn't.

Luna went to raise the moon as usual, but something went wrong. Terribly wrong. She felt it, but she couldn't stop it.

None of us could.

It appeared too suddenly -- acted too quickly.

The only warning we received was a roar and a bright flash of light, then everything was gone. No more Canterlot, no more ponies, no more anything.

Nothing survived.

Nothing... except for us and whatever 'it' is.

We may be immortal beings, but that doesn't make things any better -- if anything, it makes the pain all that much worse. The only thing we can really do now is try to avenge those dear to us. Our subjects... our families... my friends...

Everything.

I don't care how long it takes, and I don't care if it's a pointless battle. All I care about now is making sure we put that thing down for good.

And as the years go on, the Imperium spreads ever further, until finally, in the mid 1020s, Griffonia, and Griffonkind, are united under one being. The God-Emperor of Griffonkind, the being who was once Grover the Fifth. For he is the physical manifestation of Boreas, Eyr, and Arcturius. Yet, as Griffonia is united and the Emperor dreams of greater conquest for griffonkind. He blinks... and his dream ends.
