6216735 Gasp, fixed.
Or perhaps an awful idea. A wonderful awful idea.

6216761 And thus, balance was restored to the story.
Speaking of dreams, it's been awhile since you referenced the show. This story actually offers a really good answer to the question, "Where was Celestia while Luna, Twilight, and the gang were saving equestria from Luna's guilt complex". You should do side story about Fast Change impersonating Celestia during this whole trip. It actually goes a long way to explaining Celestia's suddenly purely ceremonial role in national matters (ie, the treaty with Yakyakasta, and the Friendship summit). Cadence and Twilight are actually pulling double duty because the real Celestia's off helping Silver Stars impregnate Equis.
6217322 Makes perfect sense to me, though the only way Silver would find out on the trip is by asking Luna.
Well at least one turkey was willing to talk to silver. And why was Oman ready to make an aggressive action towards the birds?
6219243 He's a curmudgeon that wants to get things over with quickly.
Hmm, what if they offer to return the Bangles together once they've been used? Surely they would appreciate getting another artifact for (essentially) nothing?
There are two spaces between "the" and "bird."
To let the bird "calmly" step up.
There are two spaces between "still" and "he."
There are two spaces between "them," and "if."
Don't capitalize "snorted."
So they finally meet the birds (I can't hear the phrase "the bird(s)" without thinking of the dogs from Up). I have to say, I like how the turkeys are portrayed here. They're quite funny, having the mannerisms that you'd expect talking turkeys to have: they're prone to making either clipped, judgmental statements or rambling on at length. They seem almost like this world's kender, without the kleptomania or fearlessness.
This is going to be fun.
Rutherford was likewise amusing, taking the usual (I presume it's usual) turkey disapproval off and instead peppering Silver with questions. I would imagine that his inquisitiveness is quite unusual for a turkey, but that makes him (is he a him? The name is masculine, but still...) quite perfect for introducing Silver to the culture of Turkey. It was slightly convenient that he knew all about the object Silver was looking for without being prompted, but that's forgivable since Rutherford seems like the knowledgeable type. What's more awkward is that it didn't have a name, for all of its "national treasure" status.
I have to take a moment to say again how irritating I find Oman. It was clear from the get-go that he knew Silver was there, and was making him wait out of an arrogant desire to "teach" him something. I get where he's coming from here, I really do; it's that old "magic requires discipline, and learning patience is one way to acquire discipline." Now, Silver has certainly made some mistakes and could stand to build some character, but teaching is something that needs to be asked for, or at the very least understood and accepted by the student, otherwise it's just someone imposing their judgments and values on someone else, which is what Oman is doing here. It's less irritating than how he's acted before, simply because it's expected that Oman will be a dick in any given situation, and that he's not forcing Silver to do anything, but even so...his constantly demanding that worthiness be proved is becoming tiresome.
As such, I can't believe that Shei is actually taking lessons from that guy. I almost, almost want there to be some hint that he's giving them simply because he wants a chance to ogle her, since that would be the cherry on the sundae of how much of an "arrogant old wizard" archetype he is. As it stands, I'm surprised Shei has bothered, since Oman is only going to be with the group until they're done with this errand. He seems like the type to pontificate that ("real") magic requires a lifetime of study, so what can she hope to learn in, at most, a few weeks?
A few other notes: Patty and Fiddah rubbing each other the wrong way was amusing. I like that this type of relationship between the supporting cast members are developing, as it feels more "realistic" than having everyone be spokes to Silver's hub. Given that Shei is a concubine, I can see Fiddah and Patty having words about how Shei is treated. Also, it's good to see that Silver is taking a cautious approach this time, despite Oman's (not very helpful) suggestions to the contrary.
Celestia's giving up her necklace (though that thing has always looked like a torc to me) was sweet, and will probably work, but I agree that that should be the last resort. For now, it's probably best to just see the thing, get a feel for how the museum curator (I presume that's the decision-maker regarding it) values it, and take it from there. They have three days; that's a lot, if they use it correctly.
6225865 Typos eliminated, though you've made me realized I renamed the bird, but that's OK I have decided. No reason a person can't have more than one name, and he did learn more about Silver, so maybe he opened up. You'll find out in future chapters! The turkeys amuse me greatly, and the cast is bouncing off each other quite well.
Patty wants what's best for her neice, and so does Fiddah, in a different way.
6216761 i cant help myself, im reading the birds in a Scottish accent
turkeys
gravid hen
Because hens don't give birth, they lay eggs.
Wouldn't the easy solution be for them to borrow the other half only until they have Silver freed? Why do they keep acting like this is going to be a permanent purchase when it's clear they just want to get rid of the curse? Heck, the "payment" for letting them borrow the artifact could be letting the turkeys have both pieces once Silver is out of them.
Blam! The turkeys double their ancient artifact collection, all for the low, low price of taking their current piece out of the box for a minute!
7780558 That assumes all works perfectly.
7780572
True, but my question still stands, simply because everyone has been acting like they're going to try buying the piece and then taking everything home with them. Yet the attitude seems to be none of them want to have anything to do with the artifacts once they get Silver out.
