I really feel like "noise" should be pluralized if she's talking about how he sounds during sex. If she just means his talking in general, then leave it singular.
His well-deserved "talking-tos."
Most were very "water-related."
A "lanky-looking" Saddle Arabian stallion.
6148075 Typos put in a lifeboat before setting it ablaze.
6148134 The transition period is coming to a close, and Silver has altered the terms of the deal with the pirates. Pray he does not alter it further...actually, no, he can go ahead and alter it further, considering how generous he's being with them.
Having knocked up all of the receptive mares among the pirates, Silver finally settles down to look at what's to become of the rest of them, namely a post-menopausal mare and the stallions that are single. In this regard, I think that Silver definitely did the right thing, since it was shown last chapter to be rather unfair that only certain pirates were being given an out. There's nothing wrong with a deal that's only taken by some members of a group, of course, but when the offer is made along purely demographic lines - meaning that some of the group simply aren't able to accept it - then it starts to run up against common conceptions of justice (presuming that they should otherwise be judged equally, e.g. having committed the same offense, which in this case is piracy).
Ahem. Anyway, Silver did the right thing with letting all of the pirates go, and it was interesting to see how he worked to keep pushing the concept of "changing their roles" to a further extent. In this case, by redefining them as a collective group (from pirates to merchants) rather than individually (from pirate mares to new mothers). I was glad that Silver noted the fearsomeness of this particular group-mentality; while he's not wrong in that humans have peer pressure as well, there's more to it than that with regards to what we're seeing here...maybe it's only their nature (culturally and maybe biologically), or maybe it's the nature of this world enforcing harmony, with larger groups feeling that effect more strongly, but the manner in which everything fell into place strains (human) belief. It was good that Silver pointed out how weird that felt to him, since that served to lampshade the entire issue, and in doing so make it seem like a mysterious aspect of his adopted people/home, rather than convenient writing.
The most notable aspect of all this was how he redefined a few cutie marks. While most of them weren't pirate-specific, at least two were...and that Silver could convince them to interpret their meaning differently raised all sorts of questions. However, these aren't any questions that weren't already to be found in the source material, since FIM has long been inconsistent with regards to how exactly a cutie mark works. At the very least, there's precedent for what Silver is doing thanks to Troubleshoes in "Appleloosa's Most Wanted," so it's not an issue that need be gone over too thoroughly here.
Bright Eyes continues to be a real spitfire, and in doing so remains a mystery, though that's starting to recede, albeit slowly. I was initially confused, for example, at her hopefulness at the idea of being a captain to her crew again, considering that it was only one chapter ago that she was silently signalling for Silver to claim her. However, I then remembered that she had only done that when she was certain that she'd already lost everything, so it makes sense that for a brief moment, she'd hoped that she could get it all back again.
Likewise, we did get some further insight on her relationship with Silver. Her poetic description of being clad in chains makes it seem like she is indeed going to be a forcible servant - that is, a slave - of his, at least from the legal standpoint. In terms of how they actually treat each other, that's clearly still up for grabs, but she's made it clear she's not going to keep her tongue in check, though it's heartening to see that she's accepted that she's part of Silver's retinue enough that she's not going to undercut his dealings with others.
Beyond that, though, I still don't have a clear picture of what life will be like for Silver and Bright Eyes together. She casually remarked that she wouldn't lose another fight with him, but why would it ever come to that? Unless she means that he's never going to get to have sex with her again unless he defeats her another time...in which case, I can see why Silver felt awful at how much that reminded him of Aila. Of course, Bright Eyes seems quite content with Silver not touching her again, so long as she can sample the mares he keeps around him. That reminds me that we still have no real basis for why Shei is apparently so accepting of another mare's touch. Has she always been like that, or is this new ground for her?
Either way, she's dealing with her own homosexual desires far better than Silver is, now that the issue of colt cuddlers has been raised again. On a meta level, I'm glad to see this being brought back into the story, but from an in-character standpoint it's starting to sound like Silver is fully retreating from entertaining any thoughts of a male-male relationship. Normally, I'd kick up a fuss about that, but in this case I don't think it matters very much. I say that because of Silver's bangle; he came very close to fooling around with that male guard at Amenti's castle, and so I suspect that it's only a matter of time before he gets so aroused that he won't be able to bring himself to say no to Bottom's advances.
And make no mistake, Bottom will make advances. That may sound paradoxical, given that everything about the stallion screams "I'm a sub!" but I think that it makes sense, especially given how boldly he greeted Silver. Bottom is, for all intents and purposes, a prostitute (except for not receiving money for what he does). His livelihood (e.g. being able to stay on the ship) has long depended on how well he can sexually satisfy other stallions, which means that he not only knows quite a lot of tricks to pleasing a male, but that he's thoroughly internalized that the best way he can contribute is to keep the men in his life satisfied. Given that he's quite clearly smitten with Silver, and that no one wants to feel useless, I foresee Bottom being very insistent about offering himself to Silver...who is, at some point, not going to be in a position to turn him down.
My one concern is that, at some point after the group returns to Equestria, Bottom will be shipped off with Tumble. I really hope that doesn't happen. I say that because it doesn't seem very true to the characters - while colt cuddlers are probably very lonely in Equestria, having to search about very carefully for others like them, there's more to a relationship than just finding someone you're sexually compatible with, no matter how rare that is. Tumble is in love with Silver, and won't just forget about him when someone else comes along; likewise, Bottom is attracted to power, and Silver is at the top of that particular hierarchy. Moreover, the polyamorous nature of Silver's web of relationships means that treating anyone as an either/or status - e.g. putting Tumble and Bottom together instead of, rather than in addition to, with Silver - would be nonsensical. We know that Tumble is with Fast Change right now, even though both are still pining for Silver, for example.
So yeah, I see Bottom's addition to the crew (and come on, that's clearly what's about to happen) as being a watershed moment for our protagonist. If there was ever a colt cuddler that could get Silver to leave behind the last barrier to pansexuality, it's Bottom.
6148391 Now imagine the amazing tongue lashing Silver would receive if he ever broached the idea that maybe Bottom would be happy as a mare. He did say 'I'd give you a foal if I could', after all. Celestia would never let him hear the end of it. Never. An eternity of smugness.
No, Silver's going to have to accept Bottom as he is, poor damaged goods that he may be. Dang ponies need to leave the colt cuddlers alone and let them live their lives peacefully. Is that so much to ask? It's unlikely Silver's generally empathetic heart will let him leave Bottom Rung behind. The subby male needs a secure home, and leaving him with a bunch of ponies happy to casually use him wouldn't ever sit quite right.
Not to say he wouldn't ever try to gently shake off Bottom once they got back to Equestria, but we've seen how effective Silver is at getting rid of ponies once they enter his circle. A few tears and Silver's will will break and he'll have to get over it, one way or the other.
6148501 You're probably right that Celestia would never let Silver hear the end of it if he proposed turning Bottom into a mare, but that's overlooking one crucial detail: Silver would never force - or even coerce - that on anyone, the way Celestia did. I suspect that at most he'd make the offer, and let him know that there was no pressure either way.
I also suspect that Bottom wouldn't take it even if it was offered. His statement about giving Silver a foal if he could didn't strike me as a hint that he wishes he were female. Rather, I took it as Bottom saying that he'd willingly give Silver anything, if he were able. Beyond that, I doubt he had any particular pathos about his male identity (though he seems submissive enough I suspect he'd do whatever he was told to do, within reason; luckily Silver is the sort of pony who would never take advantage of him that way).
But that said, yeah, Silver is far too kindhearted to leave behind a pony that's been reduced to a body for public use. Having been a stray himself, Silver can't help but take in strays now. Of course, that kind of consideration is likely to be interpreted as romance - and usually has led to that in the past - so, yeah...that's not Shei waking you up in a pleasurable way, Silver.
6148391 As for Bright Eyes, she is a filly fooler, and has no particularly strong need for the company of stallions, even if she is perfectly capable of enjoying it. She'll make him work for it if he wants it, while, as you say, enjoying the many fine mares he seems to collect. It's not all bad, being his broodmare gets her access to some of the finest slices of mare Equestria has to offer, namely Celestia and Luna, and eventually Cadance perhaps? Things are looking up! Now she just has to convince Celestia to let her guard down.
Hmm, we doubt there is a "Colt cuddler" Cutie Mark. He'll be fine once he gets it...
Keep going! ;)
this chapter really makes me feel good, and I can think of on little colt that would be vary jealous.
clear pirate theme, with a flag with an equine skull and crossbones on it.
any one want to try and guess who I am talking about after all he is the runt of ponyville and hade his flank nibbled at night.
and now what is to be come of bottom rung. not real talent vary abused and a colt cuddler?
even I am left with know ideas.
Harts Fire
Dammit I'm getting hots for a cute submissive stallion.
So we find a pirate equavalent of rough tumble.
silver gonna try his hand (or would it be hoof) at matchmaking?
Wonder what cadence would think?
6149537 Cadance would surely be amused by almost every part of this adventure, minus the dying part.
Eh..........This colt-cuddler can be hooked up with Silver other colt-cuddler....
Was a little uncertain about what he was doing to the mares, but I'm liking where this is going for the rest of the pirates.
any more
Oh, is that the S.S. Bottom-Rough that I see cresting the horizon? I think it is! Bring him home, Silver!
Silver flared his wings momentarily. "Yeah, it's called alicornism."

A terrible disease, usually terminal.
You always forget to describe new characters. I say this because I didn’t know how to picture Bottom Rung.
