Silver is walking in to the lions den.
He best keep a close watch or she will be making a gelding out of him.
exultant chapter and it seems Silver did not suffer to much after effects from quickening Celestias baby oven.
Harts Fire
The first clause in this sentence reads awkwardly; it makes it sound like they're a people that have forgotten their pride. I'd change this to something like "Even were we not, there is no practical purpose..."
The "militarily-inclined" feline.
Also, I'd change "sat forward" to "leaned forward." You can sit up or sit down - or even sit back (and relax) - but not sit forward.
The thought had occurred "to me."
This should be "Tonight, eight o'clock."
6085317 The typos have been tossed to the Anubians to deal with.
Even trying to mate with her could be a problem.
I'm not sure how different the proportions of Amenti and Silver are but it reminded me of an episode of 1000 ways to die. oO
6085347 The risks of following this path are many!
It looks like he has a life of studding. For how long? Now that they found he can impregnate Allycorns. Are they going to have a lot of foals? This one almost cost him his life. Is this going to be a life long thing for him?

6085395 Pro: You get the bang mighty almost-gods! Con: It may kill you every time.
Decide now!
6085336 This chapter gives us a notable contrast to the last one - Silver is getting his act together and deciding to claim what he wants, but he's not the only one! Amenti is now solidifying her power-base, and as she does so she sets her eyes on her next target: Silver himself! Let's go through this from the beginning.
Amenti is solidifying her political standing, and word of that is apparently traveling fast. By following up on her performance yesterday, she's now proving that this wasn't just a fluke, and that she's taking an active hand in governing. So far so good; if these were all the challenges she was facing, then she might be on the road to success. But she has more opponents than simply bad economic circumstance to consider. Having foiled whatever they were doing in her room that night, followed by two days of very productive governance, I strongly suspect that her political opposition is not going to let this stand. Amenti has just staked her claim as the ruler of Anugypt; this will not go unchallenged.
It's easy to think that this will come in the form of an assassination - and if past tactics are any indication, it very well might - but I find such things to be heavy-handed, and with a terrible potential for consequences if they fall through. Why try and commit treason (which is what murdering a ruler is) when you can oust someone via legitimate political or social means? Amenti has siblings, for example, and having a second prince or other relative make a power-play is a time-honored tradition in dynastic politics. Or perhaps Amenti could be maneuvered into making an unpopular move with the public, such as outlawing a very popular vice (e.g. prostitution, gambling halls, etc.). Given that she's going to need to start cutting tit-for-tat deals pretty soon, since she's rapidly running out of ways to raise short-term revenue to fund further projects (e.g. a domestic tax hike, though that has factors all its own to consider), that might not be very hard to pull off, especially if she has a meeting with a skilled politician who can turn her youthful optimism against her.
In short, in the chess game that is politics, she's made her move. Now the opposition gets to make theirs.
In the meantime, Silver checks Celestia from shaming Amenti out of her advances, and now he has to deal with the amorous kitten on her own. This has the potential to get complicated very quickly. Luckily, Silver was canny enough to ask what the fallout would be if he were to have an affair with the pharaoh. Or at least...what fallout there would be for him personally, and for his country. That's good, since asking that showed cognizance of his duties as a prince of Equestria. As a person of morals, however, I was surprised that he didn't ask what it would do to Amenti's reputation. Screwing her could very well be the foul that Amenti's political opposition uses against her - it's hard to rally the people behind a slut. Even if promiscuity is no vice to the public at large, they still tend to expect more decorum from their leaders in general, especially when it comes to how their nation is represented to other countries. (That might be mitigated if Silver is seen as being little more than a royal sex-toy, but that's highly iffy; even then, I suspect that those who aren't in Amenti's camp will spin the rumors to make her sound like the proverbial "bitch" to Silver's "butch.")
Of course, more personal to Silver was his not-incorrect realization that having sex with Amenti would be an out-and-out affair...or would it? I have no doubt that Celestia was correct when she noted that there's no interfertility between ponies and cats, but Silver is no ordinary pony. Remember, he's an alicorn, and so doesn't play by the normal rules. A female alicorn is normally impossible to impregnate, but a male alicorn is (presumably) able to get the job done; that very same bout of magic that Silver uses to knock up a female could come into play in unexpected ways, should he enter Amenti. He might very well be able to sire hybrids that would normally not be possible (whether those hybrids would be themselves fertile, or sterile, is interesting to consider). So in a very real way, he could be said to studding Amenti, or at least trying to.
Unfortunately, I doubt it will come to that. I say "unfortunately" here because I think it's a really sexy idea. As they say, the only thing better than pussy is new pussy, and there's a fresh one waiting for him now (crude pun intended). However, the number of reasons why this is a bad idea are not inconsiderable. Even leaving aside Amenti's reputation, there's also Silver's to consider.
Simply put, Celestia was right that this would likely cement the notion that Silver is basically a "trophy husband," kept around for his sexual characteristics and little else. Even his magical abilities would likely be seen as secondary to his being a breeding tool. That's on top of the painful fact that, as Celestia pointed out, Silver doesn't really have any recognized political standing. Even Twilight is involved in her community, and Cadance is governing the Crystal Empire (which is really a city-state, but still; she's governing it). All of the real power is held by Luna and Celestia, and he's just a pretty face.
Sleeping with Amenti, in other words, would cement the perception that Silver isn't important.
That's a real blow to the ego. That's doubly true on top of the fact that (as Celestia reminded him last chapter) Equestria is a matriarchal society, where the mares have greater social privilege than the stallions do anyway. Everyone across the world likely knows that, and so Silver is likely already presumed to be - to put it bluntly - Celestia's bitch. Now, Silver does have some leeway in terms of breaking from that paradigm, since he's a unique being (as a male alicorn), but that window will only be open for so long, and he doesn't seem to realize that (or if he does, then he's not very concerned about it).
This is a real conflict between base urges and higher intellect. It'll be interesting to see which way Silver goes.
6085568 Near-death situations can really turn your life around. I mean Silver had a lot happen to/around/with him after the last few times he/she almost died. They're practically how you know they've reached the next level of the crazy thing they call life now that I think about it. Silver almost died trying to reach his first pony town, then almost died in manehattan, almost died trying to get into college then proceeded to almost die while in college. Every little death has marked the end of one part of his life and the start of the next. His final death will just be the time he fails to adjust for the next part of his existence.
6085642 Hm, that's a rather coy statement. Are you suggesting that Silver's recent brush with death while doing Celestia has caused him to re-evaluate his sexual escapades? If so, that's not a bad lesson to take, so long as he realizes that the salient point is to be more aware of the consequences of his actions, rather than to simply scale back his sexual antics whole-cloth.
6085654 Silver doesn't suddenly hate sex. It feels kind of good, and it's really nice to be that close to another sentient being. He does have responsibilities though, and he has to start rising to them, and by golly, he's going to try to be the all the stallion he can be.
T his could be a very interesting experience for the story but could something likeAnd Why They Can Work Out For The Betterthe cover art is what I'm talking about.
6085836 Minus the hand?
6085970 yeah but I think you get the idea.
Getting real awkward here. Somehow, after all this years on the internet, horsvaj=yes, otheranimalvaj=nope. I wonder why...
6086055 The trick there is requiring a bit of (a lot of) magical or otherwise tomfoolery for any child he creates to take part in his story in any timely fashion, barring time skips.
6086077 You've fallen down the brony trap but refused to be lured by others. There may be hope for you yet, if you retreat now.
6086137 nope, it predates my pony thing. probably got it when i was 16 and frequenting /b/
Accessorizing his jewels. Damn. Guy just can't catch a break.
nekomata (I mean, 猫又, but we're writing in English)
Were this story still being written, I'd expect something of Silver's magic-focusing tricks to "rear its head". As it is, I'll have to wait snd see.
Ever our allies what does that mean?
