Hey, you guys ever hear of Xlibris? I've got an offer from them to publish my book, but I'm getting some shady vibes from some of the reviews I've read about them. Any thoughts?

A comprehensive list of the books I've made on this site, then turned into something that won't get me sued by Hasbro if I published them for money:
What I've Become
Nightmare of the Past (A conversion of What I've Done.)
Legends of the Future (Working title, a conversion of What I Am, also coming soon!)

Hey, any Carrot Top at all is fine with me.
And while perusing some of the comments I read that you've had a bit of a rough past few years. I hope and pray that things work out for you.
(Life should always come first before any "magical pony story" which pales in comparison to anyone's genuine needs. Those who forget that and attack authors who don't happen to be writing at the moment seriously need to rethink their mindset.)

I hope you enjoy the little jaunt into my story. I worked really hard on it, and I'd love to know what you think!
I will say that the story is an alpha build of the tale I'd actually like to tell, and a lot of ideas get tried, experimented with, fleshed out, and discarded. Carrot Top is indeed a character in this story, but as it progresses, she becomes less and less relevant, which I count as a failing on my part. So I do apologize if you thought she'd be more central, but I'd rather be truthful than try and bait-and-switch you.
I'll be very interested in reading your What I've Become series in the future, and believe it or not, the Carrot Top character tag is actually the main selling point for me.

I really wish she was in more stories.

So, recently I was talking to a few members from a writer's group, thinking of you, I asked them how to get more readers. Most of them told me the same 3 things. Not sure if any of this will be usefull or if you already knew this, but here is what I learned.
1) would be to get together with other writers in similar genres and have then promote you and your books on the back of their books and you do the same for them, this is effective, but if it's too long, Amazon gets mad, and there are rumors that they might start cracking down on this.
2) would be kindle unlimited. Most authors I spoke to told me that 50% to 80% of income comes from KU readers.
3) is audio books. I was told that they see a HUGE jump in readers just by having an audio book. There are two ways of doing this, you could either have a production company such as Podium Audio or Sound Booth Theatre, or hiring a narrator yourself through audible's ACX. With both, You can either pay for it out of pocket, which can cost $3,000-$5,000, but you get to keep all rights, or you can do royalty sharing, but you have to sign an exclusivity contract with the company you choose.
There where other things, but these where the major points.
Hope this helps
3271983 You're fine, and all of those are excellent suggestions. I'll see what I can do.
