Warning: The following story you are about to read contains mentions of violence, death, the afterlife, F/M, M/M, sex (don't panic, all the characters that do so will be 18, consensual and mentioned breifly), talk of sex, suicide, and figuring what to do with eternity. If you are uncomfortable with one or many of these things, you know where the exit button is.

Neither Gallus nor Sandbar expected to die so early, but at least it was dying while saving the world. With their lives over, all that they expected was a simple slip into darkness for eternity. Never did they imagine that what awaited them was paradise for their deeds and actions.

Of course, one doesn’t just accept or come to terms with their sudden death. Especially at such a young age. There are regrets, questions, and discoveries about oneself that come with the prospect of being welcomed into Heaven. Some of these experiences can be welcoming and others can be sorrowful moments in an otherwise bright and happy world.

Yet, perhaps the biggest experience is one that will see the two bond past the flames of friendship and into the waters of love. After all, everything is possible in the afterlife.

Luna and Celestia's fight took a rather different turn from in most universes. Instead of assuming a corrupted form, Luna took those who supported her and left for the moon, where she and her followers still live a thousand years later. But sooner or later, worlds must collide, and when the ponies of the moon meet the ponies of Equestria, the sisters' conflict won't be so easy to resolve.

First in the Worlds-verse, and a part of the greater The Powers That Be multiverse.

Ever since he was a foal, Light Flow had always known he was destined to be a villain—but not just any villain; no, he wanted to be a necromancer.

He had always been obsessed with reading fiction stories about the forbidden practice of necromancy, and much to his delight, his cutie mark spelled his unavoidable destiny as a member of his oh-so revered profession!

But necromancy is extremely taboo and outrageously illegal. Equestria hadn't even seen a genuine necromancer since the times of the fabled Nightmare Moon, or so they said.

Substituting joy for dread, Light Flow knew that he would have to hide his especially special talent at any cost, whether in his daily mundane life as a bookish nerd or in the heat of extreme danger.

Good thing he doesn't have any friends, right?

Note from the author.

First and foremost, you need to be warned. This story is heavy in purple prose. Now, when I use that term, I don't necessarily use it for a derogatory meaning, but it's undeniable that my writing style has ticked a lot of people off. It may not be kind, and it may not be sparkling, but it's probably apt.

Still, give it a try. I just thought it'd be nice to make you aware going in.

Anyway, hello all! If you don't know me, then good! I'm a stranger, and it'd be weird if you know who I am!

This is my first published story, and at the time of its original publication, it was my first experience writing longform fiction. I like to think I've made great strides to improve—and the story is currently going through a revamp—but it's undeniably flawed in many ways, and no amount of fixing will make them go away.

That's okay, though. That's life. I have confidence that my story has and will find its audience.

The story's themes have somewhat wavered over time as goals came and went and I argued endlessly with myself about what I wanted the experience to be, but there are some core tenants it mostly sticks to.

It's written in fairly loose third person limited perspective, though it gets omniscient at times. You can expect a somewhat nauseating cocktail of comedy, comedic tragedy, regular tragedy—varying in effective devastation—romance, spiritual and pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo, and what's probably most important: heavy-handed drama.

Slice of life, by the way. Those themes sound overfull and contrasting because that's what I think life's like.

Prepare yourself for limited amounts of coherence and way too much inner monologue!

Also I'm an idiot who probably tagged wrong.

Also I'm a bad person who stole a Jargon Scott image for the cover. (And then a wonderful person named Adin Terim edited it <3)

This story is a sequel to Spiders and Magic: Avengers Assemble

A world of heroes would ideally be a good thing for Equestria, but with the heroes came the villains, and after so many villain showdowns and multi-dimensional troubles from other worlds outside Marvel and Equestria, order needed to be restored to maintain the harmony Princess Celestia worked for many years to achieve. With the help of Tony Stark, the two design a method in which the hero work would be properly moderated and harmony can be maintained.

But over time ideologies began to clash as Steve Rogers began to doubt the Accords laid out by Tony and in time would stage a rebellion to fix Equestria of it's newest grasp. Friendships will be tested, allies will become enemies as a battle breaks out between two groups, those who are aligned with The Accords, and those against it. This is war.

Formal Premise: The inventors of the Mirror wanted to create a device that could channel infinite magic and grant wishes. The hard part was making sure those wishes would never destroy the world. Showing a person their heart's desire is a sensible precaution to put into a wish-granting machine designed NOT to go horribly wrong.

The Atlanteans got close, even managing to imbue some amount of intelligence and morality into the Mirror. But they never finished their work; the Mirror never DID get to the point where it could grant wishes... at least, nobody believes it ever got to that point. But then, nobody has ever been trapped inside the Mirror and returned to tell the tale.

When the Mirror traps someone inside itself and outside of Time, that person and their consequences can no longer affect the world. In that circumstance, with a person fully under its power, the Mirror isn't limited in what it can do. Sometimes, it can even grant seemingly incompatible wishes.

But complex problems require complex solutions. In this case, the Mirror takes a few massive liberties about how, exactly, it satisfies the wishes of both Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. Namely, it sends them to a world of ponies.

Informal Premise: This is a crossover between MLP and Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, not just Harry Potter. No matter how accessible I try to make it to those who haven't read HPMoR, those who HAVE read it will undeniably have an easier experience reading this story.

HPMoR is the second most popular fanfiction of Harry Potter, at least according to fanfiction stats. It involves Harry studying & dissecting the wizarding world with science. Not with technology, with actual science. That is, he uses the experimental method, generates and tests hypotheses, and in the words of his Occlumency instructor, "wants to discover the underlying rules of magic to become all-poweful".

THIS fanfic brings THAT version of Harry Potter to Equestria. It also brings that story's version of Voldemort.

If you want the best reading experience, please go read HPMoR first. It can be found on fanfiction dot net, or on its own website, or even on any podcast app, as it has its own fan-made audiobook with 30+ contributing voice actors, production quality, sound effects, music, etc. (which is more than can be said for most PROFESSIONAL audiobooks).

All forms of HPMoR that I've encountered are high quality, but that doesn't mean it's for everyone. You can probably read the first few chapters of HPMoR in thirty minutes or so. If it doesn't appeal to you, this story probably won't appeal to you either.

For those who haven't read Methods and want to read this story anyway, the first two chapters are going to be the most confusing. They're mostly housekeeping and stage-setting, barely touching the MLP universe beyond the new setting.

And I think the same advice Yudkowsky gave for HPMoR applies here. The story starts hitting its strides around Chapter 5, if not sooner. If you don't like it by Chapter 10, best just to give up and read something else.
