Let's get this straight - I don't like people. I like being alone with my thoughts without having to go through the mundane distractions of social commitments.

So when I was asked if I wanted to go someplace with no human interactions, I hopped onboard without a second thought. I probably should have thought that one through.

There's no humans, sure, but in order to survive I HAVE to be able to have a steady conversation with ponies. Considering ponies are exactly the same as humans... It isn't going to be easy. Oh, and there's that whole 'Save our race otherwise you die,' deal. I can't believe I got roped into something so convoluted it makes the Lost storyline seem like something you read to a child.

Based on Rust's immense and amazing universe and a part of the Chess Game of the Gods.

An aspiring rationalist gets punted into Equestria - and instead of being turned into a cool griffon, or powerful dragon, or even a standard pony... discovers he is now a milk-cow, part of the herd.

Part of the Chess Game of the Gods crossover.

The royal court of Canterlot welcomes its newest member with open forelegs: the human philosopher Voltaire, from Earth.

On Earth, Voltaire is known as the greatest enemy of tyranny in the history of literature, and a legend in his own mind.

On Equestria, the court betting pool is giving him a week before the Princess banishes him to the Moon.

Note: This story doesn't have sequels per se, but there are a couple of short follow-ups set in the present day ("Parade Coverage" and "Secret Histories"), and a prequel of sorts in "At the Inn of the Prancing Pony".

SG-1 is sent through the Stargate as a forward scouting team for an extended scientific mission to P3X-597. Arriving in a long abandoned castle, the team heads out for the nearest village. As they approach, it becomes clear that the locals aren't exactly human. Their contact with the pony-like aliens goes well, conveniently timed alongside a celebration of the sun, until an over-the-top, hammy, evil pony appears to ruin the festivities.

A Stargate SG-1 crossover.

Truth is the first casualty of war.

The world is in flux; new ideals, groups and technologies permeate every level of society in this age of discovery. The field of augmentation has allowed ponies to improve themselves in ways that were unthinkable a generation ago. Yet, for every benefit, there is an inverse. A griffon civil war rages on the borders, feeding the profits of mercenary companies. Rising populations have forced the rich and poor ever further apart. Harmony is dying.

Mortally wounded after a fatal attack on her laboratory, an earth pony researcher is augmented against her will and sent out into a chaotic world in search of answers. But as her quest unravels this chain of events, she discovers an ancient conspiracy that will shake Equestria to its very core.

Did they really think they lived in a magical cartoon world? Where they controllled the weather? Where they had created and maintained an advanced civilization all by themselves, despite the fact they didn't even have thumbs?

They did believe that. At least for a while.

But one by one, they are waking up to a much harsher, much more disturbing reality.
Pityful, spliced creatures, they will try to fight their way out of a nightmarish place ruled by cold and sadistic entities.

Then again, who is to say what is real and what isn't. Perhaps this is nothing but a nightmare. A very long, painful nightmare. Perhaps the truth is something different altogether. So many mysteries, so many paradoxes, so many horrors. Only one thing is sure.

Friendship is magic.

Real Friendship. The one which won't abandon you, even in your darkest hours.

Disclamer 1: I'm not coddling you saying this, it's just one (alleged :P) human being to another. Just as a hand-granate, this works on the principle to whom it may concern: The story, whether or not it's any good at it, relies on an atmosphere of brave but vulnerable creatures fighting against (and ultimately overcoming, if severely scarred) a system of nightmarish injustice with no regard for even basic bodily autonomy. What is happening is sometimes described/summed up with harsh keywords or illustrated with devastating events. If any of this sounds alarming to you, please tread with caution or stay out. This of course does not exempt the story from criticism if you do chose to go foreward, especially for the ways it fails to do these subjects justice.

Disclaimer 2: BTW, I remember some parts of the fandom (and some movies) seem to interpret even the older protagonists (such as the "mane six") in the show as being children/teenagers. Just because I can, I hereby declare for the purpose of this fanfic, and really all of my other fics, that no creature in this story, at the time that it is set in, is the equivalent of a human "minor" unless they are unambiguously described that way.

Pulled into a strange world where myth and legends are real. Unable to communicate to the native creatures here, or even able to move for that matter... How is a human supposed to adapt to this strange world, or even manage to keep his sanity when he is encased in stone.
