You wake up in the middle of an unknown forest, surrounded by alien plants and animals, and a frightened bat filly. You take it upon yourself to help this filly get back to civilization, by way of miles of dangerous obstacles, bat filly antics, and the dread you'll never be able to get back home. Thanks to Twilight Sparkle and her friends, Equestria has known its longest period of peace! Except for the reoccurring existential threats. And if you ignore that thousand years when the Elements of Harmony weren't needed.

Well, that time is over. A new villain has come to tame the mythical land of magical horses. Or, well, he's there at least. Equestria has a way of taming itself.

Equestria has thrived for millennia, led dutifully by its diarchy. Only the most capable and qualified of ponies can be responsible for such a bountiful legacy.

After Cozy Glows betrayal Twilight decides she needs to make sure Ponyville is safe even if she and the other Elements are away. Celestia suggest founding a Royal Guard division for Ponyville. Now Twilight much find a Captain to lead it. Now she just needs somepony with leadership experience. A pony kind, understanding, patient, and polite, But also strong, determined and driven. Tempest is at least half those things. Join Tempest and Twilight and the others on a journey of redemption, forgiveness, courage, yelling at new recruits, dealing with annoying ponies, and paperwork. So much paperwork. Just a day in the Life of the captain of the Friendship Knights.

Ryan O'Connor arrived in Equestria a couple years back when Twilight was checking up on Sunset Shimmer. Instead of looking through the mirror of Sunset's world, Twilight looked through another and saw Ryan was about to be buried in an avalanche during a rescue mission. Without even thinking, Twilight pulled him to safety but the way home was blocked and left Ryan stranded in Equestria. To Twilight's surprise, Ryan was pretty cool with it and decided to enjoy his stay and the company of his adorkable savior.

Just a little something that came to mind before and since I'm reading a lot of Twilight Sparkle stories I'd thought I should write this down for you guys. And the cover image was great inspiration as well.
It's basically in medias res and history will occasionally be told in flashbacks and referenced in dialogue.
It's mainly going to be romance, fluff and general sillyness.

Twilight Sparkle is teleported and sealed from the Celestial Castle when monsters attack it. She is given six rocks that are supposed to save Equestria, but Twilight doesn't see how six rocks can do that, since they are just that: rocks. However, her mentor recognizes them as the Elements of Harmony, so now Twilight has a new mission: find the Bearers. The first one she runs into is Fluttershy, Element of Kindness. One problem: she is a vampire.

Princess Celestia was going for an incognito stroll through the town in order to unwind from court, that was until she came across a small oddity of a shop called 'Cliff's Craft' on Elder Street.

So, she decided to pay Equestria's only resident human a visit.

My version of Lauren Faust ending up in Equestria. I probably got her character all wrong. Hey, I never met her, cut me some slack.

So, Lauren Faust is Queen of Equestria in this story. How will she react? How will everypony else react? And what does Pinkie's chimicherrychangas have to do with all of this? One thing is clear already. For Twilight and her friends it won't be the same.

Added AU tag, 'cause someone mentioned it would be safe. And when I think about it, I don't think we ever get to learn who the princesses parents are.

Just a note, this is set during season two. So the events of "A Canterlot Wedding" haven't happened yet.
