A side story/prequel to my The Ponies in the Caves and A Story to Relate To, but reads independently.

This story is fantastic. There wasn't a single chapter that didn't give me chills or bring a tear to my eye. The way you describe the selflessness of the soldiers, and Redheart's unrelenting drive to save them, no matter the personal cost, was exemplary. I look forward to more of your work.

I'm tired of being a loser. One day all of that changed, a mysterious player challenged me and I won. Said player happened to be a bored void dweller who was looking for losers like me.

He gave me powers, the powers of Brutalight Sparcake. He then threw me into a broken version of Equestria. He gave me the freedom and power I desired. And I don't know what exactly what I'm going to do...

Nightlight And Twilight Velvet have always tried to do right by others. So, when they found an orphaned colt had been left at their door, they knew right away to take him in out of the cold. How could they ever know what dangers that shadowy night would hold? After being adopted by them, Night Shadow is given all the love and care a colt of his age would need, even managing to get into Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, the same school that his elder sister Twilight Sparkle attended. Then one day, he's given the chance to live with his sister again in her new home in Ponyville, witnessing first hand all the different adventures she and her friends go on. What is in store for this stallion, and how will he react to all the dangers that now await him?

Excess magic use has numerous ways of backfiring, most commonly exploding. Or more rarely, it could have interesting side effects none could have predicted. So imagine what blasting an evil moon goddess with the mother of all rainbows could result in.

Unfortunately for me, these so-called 'side effects' involved dragging my defenceless self through time and space from my normal everyday life in the most abrupt teleport known to man. Transforming me into a small strange pegasus thing in the process and promptly spitting my ass out into the most deranged forest I've ever seen.

Now my new body made it so I'm no taller than a bloody chair stool, I could barely walk with these alien legs, my size telling me I was younger than what I probably should be, and to add to my already horrendous situation I haven't eaten since I got here!

I don't know what I am, but I have the feeling I really shouldn't exist.

I'm not new to writing but this is my first story here. As such grammar corrections and criticism are welcome.

This is my first story so constructive criticism is appreciated.

Given a unique perspective on negative emotion, less than a foal's knowledge of ordinary magic, a healthy schadenfreude, and danger bearing down on all sides, the self-proclaimed "Weiss Noir" makes no plans accounting for his death, and plans to keep it that way, even after being torn away from earth, turned into a unicorn, and dumped into one of the most inhospitable locations and times in all of Equestria.

Stranded in the Frozen North, a place where biting cold ends lives, and one thousand years in the past, in a time when peril is the norm, rather than the exception, Weiss decides to indulge in sorcery most foul, stolen ideas, and human ingenuity to survive.

Given the choice between a mad slaver and a mad sage, however, there is no avoiding an inevitable tide of ponies escaping the conquered Crystal Empire to bask in the warmth of his well-stoked hate. Something which draws attention, enemies, and most worryingly, the rivalry of his "peers".
