Applejack realizes one morning that Rainbow Dash has apparently moved in with her. This discovery surprises Dash more than a little, too, and sets off a chain of events neither could have imagined.

The original minific version of this story came in fifth in the Dec. 2015 Writeoff Association contest, "Things Left Unsaid." And the full, three-chapter-and-an-epilogue version won 3rd place in The Fourth AppleDash Contest: A Little Twist of Lemon using the categories "A Life-Changing Event" and "An Important or Memorable Date."

Twilight is almost used to being an alicorn now. She's accepted that unexpected change, and is even happy about it, most of the time. Her magical abilities have grown by leaps and bounds, and she's starting to enjoy the freedom offered by flight. While she can't imagine ever being as good as Rainbow Dash, anypony with reasonable standards would by now consider her quite competent in the air.

But despite her growing enthusiasm and confidence, there's something that she has neglected to deal with. Something that's bothered her at times ever since the transformation, but kept getting shuffled down her list of priorities. Fortunately, she knows just the pony to talk to for help, and she won't let nervousness and self-reliant rationalization hold her back anymore. The latest of Pinkie Pie's parties provides a perfect pretext for a conversation she should've had months ago.

If you're confused by the date listed on the chapter, that's just when I originally uploaded it for pre-reader viewing. Life got in the way and I didn't get around to hitting Submit until Feb. 7, 2016.

Princess Celestia was kind and fair ruler, until the day her soon to be husband was kill. Angry at Discord for tricking into killing some one she love, she kill him. But that was only the start. Celestia change the rule of Equestria making it into One-Equestria Regime. With the Mane Six backing her up and most villains now helping, it appear that Equestria has fallen into dark times. There is only one pony that fights Celestia's rule and that her younger sister, Princess Luna. Luna wants to stop her sister, but without the Elements of Harmony and one of the bearers dead, Luna must bring help from other world, another Equestria, untouched by evil. In that world, Princess Celestia is still a kind and fair ruler and the Mane Six still fight for Harmony. Drawing in, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Shining Armor and even that worlds Discord and Princess Luna, Luna set out to end her evil sister rule.

The Summer Sun Celebration was never typically associated with second chances, not until Twilight Sparkle and her friends discovered the Elements of Harmony and used them to cleanse the jealousy from the heart of Princess Luna, at least. On that fateful night, two seconds chances were granted:

One for Luna herself, that she might seek forgiveness from her sister and the citizens of Equestria for her actions.

The other was for Princess Celestia, that she might once again find some measure of happiness after a thousand years of loneliness.

Some years later, however, another mare hopes for a second chance of an entirely different nature. She knows she doesn’t deserve it. She knows it’s stupid to even ask.

So why the hell can’t she just let it lie?

Applejack has always been the subject of bullying at her school, mainly because of her style of clothing and Southern accent. She found it hard to live with this most days, but when a poster appeared announcing needed members for a band, well, she thought she'd found her chance.
Of course, she felt moreso when she met the founder, Rainbow Dash.
