Set after the events of the first Mare-Do-Well story, this fic follows the more intricate and methodical uprising of the caped hero against an unjust despotism; Everfree City. Formerly the Royal City of Canterlot, this society has now become a grim totalitarian world, ruled over by the most powerful criminals in Equestria, who have taken the city through their underhand methods and made themselves the dictators. Mare-Do-Well's only option to defeat a city-wide criminal empire is to use new tactics and to raise the civilian majority against the dictating minority.

A direct continuation from Mare-Do-Well: Genesis. It is recommended that you read that fic first before moving onto this one.

[Currently undergoing redevelopment] After everything she has worked for is torn from her hooves, one mare strives to find something to fill the hole her dreams left behind. Little does she know that one poor decision will lead her down a dark path from which she can never return, as the new Mare Do Well. Contrary to her belief, the life of a hero in the real world is nothing short of horrifying, especially when an eccentric special agent with an affinity for pony psychology is hot on her tail. As she falls into virtual madness, one farmpony might be able to keep her sane, or perhaps the exact opposite.

But when a strange visitor befriends Luna in her isolation, the two find their stories of banishment to the moon merit many similarities. Luna's new friend offers her the key to her escape, but also rekindles the hatred in her heart, a hatred that took the mare 1000 years to forget.
