Twilight turned in her bed, unable to fall asleep. She looked at her clock and noted how she had been tossing and turning for over five hours. Sighing she looked down to Spike's bed, where he was snoring lightly, tired from all the running around. She grabbed her cover and slipped out from under it, making sure not to wake up Spike. She quickly, but quietly, made her way to the door and opened it. She looked back to Spike, who was still sleeping soundly, and went out of the room. She made her way to Church's room to talk to him, but the door was open and Church was nowhere to be found. She looked down the stairs and saw that the front door was open, so she quickly made her way down and up to the door.
"Fuck." Church muttered as he thought of his predicament.
"Church?" Twilight asked, stepping outside to talk to him.
"Hey Twilight." Church sighed, not turning to see her. "What are you doing?"
"I was going to ask you the same thing."
"I just can't find out what the hell to do, so I came out here for a breather."
Twilight stared at Church, beginning to believe that this was starting to drive him mad.
"What?"
"I think you should get some rest." Twilight said quietly.
"I'm not tired though. And I'm not going to sleep until I find out what the hell I'm going to do with the others." Church sighed, looking at the stars for aid. "I can't become the Alpha again because if I do I'll just end up going crazy again, but at the same time I can't let them leave to do their own thing because they'll harm innocents. It's a lose-lose situation."
"Can't you convince the others to not do anything bad?"
"I could probably convince Tex to not do anything bad, and letting Gary go wouldn't be as bad since he wouldn't hurt anyone, but he would still stir shit up. It's mostly Sigma and O'Malley I'm worried about."
"Couldn't you just ask them to stay docile?"
"Why the hell do you think they'd agree to that?"
"They're pieces of you, so shouldn't they have to listen to you?"
"If I was the Alpha, then maybe, but as Epsilon I'm just another piece like them. I hold no power over them besides memory."
Church hung his head, unable to find a satisfactory solution.
"You might as well go inside." Twilight said softly, trying to help him up. "Sitting out in this temperature isn't going to get you anything besides a cold."
"Maybe if I get sick, they will too." Church chuckled.
"That will just make them more grumpy." Twilight laughed, nodding at Church, prompting him to stand up.
"Probably." Church muttered, stretching his legs. "So what are you doing up?"
"I couldn't sleep either."
"Any idea why?"
Twilight opened her mouth, but closed it and shook her head slowly, not wanting to put any unneeded pressure on him.
"Thanks for getting me." Church said, sensing tension. He then walked to through the door and embraced the warmth of the room. "It's good to know someone cares enough about others to try and knock some sense into them."
"No problem." Twilight said feebly, looking up to the moon.
"Is something wrong?" Church asked, noticing Twilight sitting outside.
"Yes, just grabbing some fresh air." Twilight said as she got up to go inside. "Since I'm up, I might as well stay up to help you figure this out."
"You don't need to do that, I can find a solution on my own."
"If you could have thought of a solution, then we wouldn't be having this conversation right now."
"Good point." Church nodded.
"Do you want any coffee?" Twilight asked as she walked to the kitchen. "Hot chocolate?"
"No, I'm good. Thank though."
Twilight nodded and went into the kitchen. She walked up to her kettle and filled it with water, before putting it on the heater for a few minutes. While the water began to boil she went to a cabinet and took out two bags of hot chocolate mix and placed them next to the kettle. She opened the cupboard above the kettle and took out two mugs. Once the kettle began to whistle she took it off the heater and poured an equal amount into both mugs. She grabbed a spoon from a drawer and mixed the chocolate in with it. She let them cool briefly as she grabbed a plate and placed them on it. She used her magic to grab the plate with the two hot chocolates and walked back into the other room. She stopped for a few moments when she saw Church, barely awake, resting his head on the table.
"You really do need sleep." Twilight said as she placed the hot chocolate next to him.
"Maybe." Church yawned, sitting up to wake himself up. He looked at the second mug and raised his brow. "I told you I didn't need any drinks..."
"You also said you weren't tired."
"You're too smart for your own good." Church laughed as he accepted the mug and sipped from it.
"Yeah." Twilight nodded slowly. "Smart."
"Okay, something is definitely wrong." Church said, placing the mug back down on the table. "What is it?"
"It can wait." Twilight assured him.
"By the way you're acting, no, it can't."
Twilight looked into Church's eyes, seeing that he was generally concerned for her.
"If you can't tell me, you can't tell me." Church shrugged. "I'm just trying to help you like you've helped me."
"I can't tell you." Twilight said meekly. "Besides, our time would better be spent solving the fragment problem."
"Fair enough. Any ideas?"
"All I can think of is letting them go, but as you said that would be dangerous." Twilight sighed, taking a sip of her hot chocolate. "But I think that is all we can do at this point."
"I know, but..." Church trailed off.
"You don't want others getting hurt because you'll blame yourself. But what if we let them have a little trial run?"
"What do you mean?"
"Let them go for a week, keep tabs on them to make sure they don't do anything reckless. If they don't then we can let them go for the rest of the month, still keeping tabs on them. After that we'll have had time to see if we are comfortable with letting them loose."
"And if they do do something reckless?"
"Then we'll have had a week to think of another solution." Twilight smirked.
"I don't like it." Church scowled briefly. He sighed and let his shoulders sag as he turned to Twilight. "But I guess there really isn't anything else we can do..."
"Great, now that that's out of the way." Twilight said, using her magic to grab a book off the shelf.
"What are you doing?"
"Some research." Twilight said as she opened the book, showing Church the cover.
"Multiple personalities again?" Church asked curiously.
"Well we are dealing with multiple personalities." Twilight said sweetly.
"Funny." Church said sarcastically.
Twilight and Church looked at each other and started to laugh. The laughter slowed in the coming minutes and soon they were sitting at the table just smiling at each other.
"So are you going to go to sleep now?" Twilight asked.
"I guess I could use some sleep. What about you?"
"I think I'll stay up a bit longer."
"Don't stay up too late." Church laughed, finishing off his mug of hot chocolate. He place the mug on the table and started towards the stairs. "Thanks for helping me do this. I really can't thank you enough."
"It's no problem." Twilight smiled. Church nodded and went up the stairs. Twilight sighed and looked out the window, back to the moon. "No problem at all."
Damn it Twilight kiss him already.
Not a bad chapter. This way I can go to bed a little earlier tonight.
Poor Twilight.
Love is in bloom.
I'll just step out, now.
Church just love twilight all ready!!!
811774
Add "Of this room" to the last scentence.
IT MUST RHYME.
811755 Hey man, you got to just kiss de girl- er, guy! Shalalalalala dayoba~!
... Damnit, now I have that song stuck in my head...
*deep sniff* I can just smell the sexual tension...
Something tells me the fragments are just gonna drop off the face of Equestria soon... Well, probably not Tex... Or Delta... Who knows.
811874
Yeah, there is one planned.
Well a good way to keep O'malley form hurting inocents would be haveing him hurt guilty ponyss as a bounty hunter of sorts maybe have Sigma design mazes you have everything under control for Gary sent him to Las Pegasaus he'll never get bored
Church and Twilight, Better Love story than Tex. Wait what? o_0
DarkWing, if you could somehow bring Lopez back, then I would love you forever. Like, here's an idea. Say, if Sarge got the brilliant idea to make another robot, only this time with the help of Applejack. Only this time, call him Pablo.
It would be a great experience for both Applejack and Sarge. And, the plot would thicken?
This one hit me close to home, as this has been a major problem of mine. I can totally relate to Twilight's predicament.
812023 thats not a bad idea...
812090 Oh, and nicknicknico. May I tell you something of utmost importance that cannot be relinguished in one comment only but in two or perhaps three?
812111
If you read the other comments you would have seen that Wash, Sister, Doc and Lopez will be coming in at a later date.
812118 Pablo? Or will the original Lopez come back?
>Twilight offers Church coffee
>
>She meant it literally
>
Goddammit brain, get your ass out of the gutter!
Jesus if O'Mally starts to live in pony ville all hell will break loose
812118 Speaking of which, junior is also planned (or at least decided) right? Got any ideas to when that will happen?
812118 what about donut?
812282>>812237
And them. But Junior won't be until WAY later.
Shananananana, my, oh my. Looks like the girl's too shy, aint gonna kiss the guy.
811755
same thoughts here
811908 Why don't they just cart Sigma and O'Malley off to the moon? Let them keep each other company. Though I don't know if Luna would approve of all of the new craters....

People yet to be added, but probably will : Wash, Donut, Junior, Sister, Captain Butch Flowers, Vic, Doc, Lopez, Sheila, Andy.
And I'd say send O'Malley and Sigma to the moon. They'll do less damage there except to each other.
812589
Captain Butch Flowers - No
Vic - No
Sheila - No
Andy - No
812601
i didn't know you looked like this.
812596 Well, that pain-in-the-ass book pretty much took Andy's place, right?
Don't care about Flowers. Too positive for me.
Vic is a dick, never liked him anyway.
Sheila? That's too bad. The potential conflict between her and Pinkie for Caboose could have been really interesting. Perhaps an alternate form, like Andy/Book-who's-name-I-can't-spell?
811961 YES! Send him to Las Pegasus! That way I can tell him knock knock jokes!
Me:Gary! Knock Knock!
Gamma:Who's there?
Me:Your
Gamma:Your who
Me:Your a stupid stupid AI
GAAAAAAAA! THE SUSPENSE OF A LOVE STORY!!! Still frecken sweet though
You must make them kiss already!

No! Church IMHO will always belong to Tex Plus in all honesty Twilight is to much of a pushover to be right for him Tex knows just how to push his buttons and knows Church inside and out.
811914 good, good
812596 What about Maine(the meta)? I don't know, I guess I'm still in denial about him dying in the actual series, sense It appeared as if he had already lived through a similar downfall on that freelancer mission . Don't have to answer if you don't want to.
813389
He fell off of a cliff with a three metric ton anchor into freezing cold water.
He's dead Jim.
813110 "Tex knows just how to push his buttons and knows Church inside and out." (Bow Chicka Bow-Wow)
So... Church just isn't allowed to be happy, then...? He just always has to deal with Tex being a horrible bitch with him and doesn't get any happiness?
So, you just want to see him miserable all the time, is that it?!
WELL FU YOU!!!
(I jest)
Anyhoof, this chapter was kinda sad... But also really nice...
Oh, and your writing is improving phenomenally!
813397 And he can survive being shot, what, twice in the chest and six times in the thought. I don't think so, friend.
812237Im guessing Jonior will be a griffin also I think he will be able to spea
813619
I believe Joss Whedon said it best: "People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy.” same is true about Red vs Blue. It's not about getting a happy ending nor is it about being so depressing you want to kill yourself. Its a happy middle ground that deals a bunch of idiots dealing with a situation they aren't prepared for, and seeing as how this is a crossover somethings can't really change.
Also Tex isn't really that big of a bitch as Church is an Asshole. Like I said Happy medium. They react to each other unlike Church and Twilight which are just stable and No offense but as a storyline Stable relationship = dull and pointless. Plus I've been waiting 10 years for Church and Tex to hook up, a MLP fic isn't going to stop me from shipping them
813696 As I said, I was only speaking in jest. Tex isn't really that bad, no *shrug* and Church can also be a dick, yes...
HOWEVER. I just like the idea of TwiChurch...
And yeah, stable generally does = boring, but people still do read just straight-on, conflictless romance fics... (I'm not one of those people, mind you).
813397 he is wereing sparten armor witch also funtions as a space suit unless the warthog hit him in the face and cracked his visor he would live two spartens fell from orbit and walked away
The Meta lives and is thristy for there blood
813397 I don't know...
Sister managed to survive being underwater in freezing water for three hours. I'm fairly certain that Maine is much more adept at surviving in impossible conditions.
~Eathlome
On a technical note, would Church not need ALL the AI fragments to reform the Alpha? All the ones mentioned in the series have been accounted for (even Theta, who is barely mentioned, props for that) but I always felt they were heavily implying there were at least a few more.
Of course, I'm not the writer, so if Dark decides to treat these as the only fragments then I'll shut up and enjoy!
Twilight just say you love him!
scranton.mylittlefacewhen.com/media/f/img/mlfw4716-Just_do_it_you_wimp..png
BTW "And if they do do something reckless?" He said dodo!
813731
TwiChurch ftw
Woo-hoo! One of the best ships! Best RvB character and best Mane6!
I actually found almost no noticeable erors on this one and it was super cute, I love how much tension-building you're doing, I hate it when romance sections just rush into it, kills the mood.
Hey, can I make a suggestion, if you want your story to really flow, try reading it out loud before you post it. It sounds weird, but it works perfectly, if you can read a novel aloud and it doesn't sound awkward or quirky, then it's probably bene pre-read. Your mind will be much better at detecting errors when they're spoken.
Add in Washington! FLUTTERSHY DEMMANDS IT!
Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the A.I of a town called E-quest-ri-eh
An A.I Tortured and blazed
In the canyon is where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, loadin up lead
And shooting some reds always missin their heads
Then meta came along, who was up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my Wash got scared
And said "You're living in a memory unit where the ponys are aired"
I thought it was snazzy, I was wrong.
