I just went to sleep and woke up in the body of a pony. I am not supposed to be in this body I am a human and my home is Earth, not here.

As I look into the crystal glass in front of me, a foreign face greets me yet the face has my voice. Have I lost my own humanity? Is my very being slipping out of my hands? That will not do.

What if during 'Dragon Quest,' Spike met dragons different from Garble and his goons? What if they became close enough friends for Spike to form his own friend group? How would things be different? How much would things stay the same?

Kind of a re-telling of MLP from 'Dragon Quest' onward, with Spike having a group of five dragon OC friends. Twilight and the Mane Six will still have their usual adventures, but will have some additional backup along the way. Additionally, I'll have my OCs learn a couple lessons of their own.

Ponyville faced an ordinary day, but then night came, and with it a massive gateway into another world. It closes before any action can be taken, but now the Mane Six and Canterlot nobility are tasked with finding out what they can about the gateway. Who created it? Where did it lead to?

And most importantly, did anything come through?

As she grows and develops, she sees the world differently than most ponies, making her curious and adventurous. And that leads to... Complications down the road. Especially when the Magic Of Friendship develops in Equestria at the same time.

If that's not making it difficult to adapt to her new environment and body, a certain white alicorn makes Aurora hooves full of mysteries and plots to solve, making it difficult to learn magic and have a life of a simple filly at the same time.
