Battle Ready is the new pony in Ponyville. A peculiar stallion, he has agreed to become Ponyville's temporary librarian while Princess Twilight Sparkle and her assistant Spike are away. As Ponyville begins to grow accustomed to Battle's odd habits, Twilight's friends can't help but feel that he's hiding something. A stranger from a strange land, there is nothing to be suspicious about a unicorn from a foreign country travelling to Equestria is there? But what about the scars that can been seen across his body? What 'personal tools' has he kept secret in the city vault? And perhaps most importantly, what sort of stallion has a Cutie Mark of a skull on a black shield?

The Mane Six return to Equestria after the battle with Wrath to enjoy some rest and relaxation. However, for Battle Ready, there's never any time for rest. Uncovering a plot to overthrow Warhorse and eradicate the world as he knows it, Battle discovers the kingdom once ruled by the Sin of Envy: Equestria!
Battle and the Mane Six must take up arms once more in order to save the kingdom of Equestria from the cult Cultoribus de Peccatis and stop them from unleashing the power of Envy...
Sequel to Battle Ready

When Battle Ready arrives in Equestria, it is with one goal in mind: Escape. Escape from his own horrible past. He has fled his homeland and has made a life for himself among the ponies of Ponyville.
But the past is never dead. It is always there and sometimes it catches up with us. And nopony knows this better than Battle Ready.

I tried a newer take on the HiE; there aren't humans for the majority of this story.

What would happen if Spike was born earlier than in the show and was raised by dragons instead of ponies? What if his teacher told him to come with him to meet with Celestia and the recently returned Luna. How will the princesses and Elements of Harmony handle a blunt, sarcastic, and strong young dragon. And how would this affect a certain shy Pegasus who is afraid of dragons.

After being banished, Spike sets out to find out about both himself and his heritage. Though as he progress in his journey he will find out he is much more than he realize and deep within him a power unlike any other that he must learn to use to get the happiness he desires.

With no warning, the might of the Griffon kingdom descends upon Equestria. Twilight, in her desperation, teleports Spike as far away from the conflict as she can in the hope of saving his life. Completely lost for the first time in his life, Spike must learn how to survive in the world alone.

But, when he finds out about the fate of Equestria and what could possibly be happening to his friends, can Spike realize the true might that comes with being a dragon? And will it be enough to help him reclaim the only treasures he ever allowed himself to hoard: his friends?

A emergency trip to Zecora's leads Fluttershy to find a strange pony with a straw hat. Unfortunately, he scares Fluttershy off with his talk of eating other animals. The strange pony's arrival in Equestria sets off a chain of events that threaten plunge the peaceful kingdom into an all out war. Twilight and her friends, along with the new pony may be the only ones who can unravel the mysteries that surround Equestria and save it from falling apart.
