Stargate Command is Earth's first line of defense against a hostile galaxy. Their mandate is "to seek out and recover intelligence and technology to assist Earth in its defense against these aggressors." It’s a dangerous job, and SGC’s mettle and defenses have been tested before. All past incidents were resolved successfully, with the normal citizens of America – and the world – none the wiser. But...

This one may just take the cake. After SG-1 returns from a routine reconnaissance mission, bringing back a curiously intact artifact from an abandoned alien city, people begin to transform. When the changes spread across the planet, the SGC faces the prospect of losing control of the secret they've kept for over a decade.

A story in the theme of Five Score, Divided by Four crossing over with Stargate SG-1. This story is not canon Five Score; for example, Five Score takes place in 2020, while the final season of SG-1 takes place in 2007.
Huge thanks to totallynotabrony for the cover art!

(NOTE: THIS IS NOT, IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, A CONVERSION BUREAU STORY. THIS WILL NOT TURN INTO A CONVERSION BUREAU STORY. EVER. THIS IS A NORMAL CROSSOVER.)

At the G.I. Joe Nevada headquarters, a strange portal opens, revealing an alien ambassador by the name of Sunset Shimmer. She seems friendly enough, and claims that she's only there to extend the friendship of her kind to other worlds. The question remains, are these Equestrians really as friendly as they seem? Or are they up to something else?

For that matter, how will the rest of the world react to them?

Equestria finds itself caught in the cold war between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire. Can friendship prevail, or will this cold war turn hot, despite their best efforts?

This is a crossover with Star Trek, taking place in late 2269 of the Prime timeline, during the fourth year of the five-year mission of the original television series. It's not a crossover with the movies made by J.J. Abrams. It is mid-season five or so for Friendship is Magic. it is my humble offering for the fiftieth anniversary of Star Trek, which debuted September 8, 1966.

Thanks to FoalsHalf for being essentially my co-writer/sounding board, and to all those who have helped with proofreading and editing.

This story is a sequel to Stardust

Times are changing for Equestria as Twilight’s return brings with it news of people and cultures from beyond the peaceful world everypony knows. Aid and volunteers are freely offered to help the besieged humans of Earth because every Equestrian knows that’s what good friends do. Unfortunately, making friends can also have the unintended consequence of making enemies.

When the monsters besieging the humans strike at Equestria with a level of brutality not seen in over a thousand years, the cry for help is sent to all the kingdoms of the world. Honored allies step forth to fulfill ancient treaties and oaths. Enemies, old and new, bury their grievances. An alliance never before seen in Equestria will be created to combat the monsters from the void.

And because of these events, a grim but welcome sibling to the XCOM project is born.

(XCOM/FiM Crossover)
(Sequel to Stardust, which I recommend reading before starting this. Fortitude Amicitia and Broken aren't required reading but are supplemental to the storyline)
(Gore tag for blood and violence)
(Alternate Universe tag because of the divergence from canon that Stardust has caused)
(Uses elements of Season 4)
(Coverart produced by the amazing Carnelian!)
(Many thanks to Arzoo, BradTheBrony, Vandenbz and Setokaiva for prereading!)
(As of 03/07/2016, the prereading team consists of Arzoo, BradTheBrony, Noble Cause and Metallusionsismagic!)
(Complete with it's own TVTropes page as part of the Stardust continuity. Could use some updating!)
(Character tags will be added as chapters are added!)
(Featured 5/12/2014! Thanks folks!)
(Possible spoilers in the comments! BEWARE!)

When Sweetie Belle magically derails one of Twilight’s experiments, she finds that she and Rainbow Dash have switched bodies. While Twilight works on a way to remedy the situation, Rainbow and Sweetie try to live each other’s lives as if nothing has happened.

Which might have worked out, if the weather team hadn’t needed Rainbow’s help. Or if Diamond Tiara hadn’t decided to pick on Scootaloo.

Applejack, Lord Mayor of Ponyville, is invited to the minotaur homeland of Beefland. A new sapient creature has been discovered and, frankly, they need Celestia's help. Foreign relations ensue as Applejack meets and greets leaders from all over the world.

Not every leader's interest in the creature is academic. Plots intertwine and unravel as Applejack navigates the strange world that is international politics.

And also, maybe more importantly, interpersonal relations.

The princesses gave their magic to Twilight to prevent Tirek from stealing it. As a result, they end up stuck in Tartarus.

Marvelous place, Tartarus. Really brings ponies together. The fact that things manage to go downhill here says a lot about the wonders of family and alicornhood.

Days after Tirek's near-takeover of Equestria, The Great And Powerful Trixie travels to Ponyville, intent on settling her rivalry with Twilight Sparkle once and for all. No trinkets to fudge her abilities, no megalomania to apologize for -- just pure and simple magician's honor!

Upon her arrival, however, she quickly learns that the information she has on Ponyville -- and Twilight -- is more than a little dated.
