As Princess Belle settles into her new home in the Beast's castle, she and Lumière encounter an ancient book that transports the pair into Equestria. Unfortunately, the time/space vortex pulls a lot of things into the land of candy-colored horses – some of which are not so sweet. Can Belle and her new friends – Chun-Li, Applejack, and Annie Oakley – fight off monsters from across time and space long enough for Twilight to seal the rift and send everyone home?

In the wake of the events of "Infernal Machines" and the Nightmare's most pathetic assault on Ponyville yet, Applejack is thrown into an existential crisis, despite her not knowing what the word "existential" means. So when a stranger named Stranger arrives in town, teaching a new way of coupling talent to power using complex machinery, she is quickly suckered in, along with everypony else. Now, it falls to the Most Dependable of Ponies to bring the resulting ruckus down to earth, but can even Applejack's legendary pragmatism stand up to the brain-fizzing horror that is... Following the events of Skyfall, Shining Armor has moved to reform the Royal Guard into the intimidating fighting force it was always meant to be. Skyfall Team is on hiatus, a long-earned respite. For the first time since the Griffon War, Equestria is recovering and growing substantially, no longer living in the shadow of danger.

But when an allied unit goes rogue and new threats loom from the shadows, Equestria's harmony is thrown into international turmoil that could bring about a world war between old enemies and allies. It is left to Skyfall Team to cover up the incident, and eliminate the defectors, before chaos can erupt into full scale conflict that could spell armageddon. Facing off against their comrades, Skyfall will learn that sometimes the toughest fights we face are against our own brothers.

Rarity's exploits in "Sweet and Elite" set in motion a chain of events that will find the unicorn dressmaker taking part in the greatest airship race in the world, the Alicorn's Cup. Excitement will give way to terror, as Rarity soon finds herself the victim of a plot against Equestria, and shipwrecked far from home with her least favorite stallion, the boorish Prince Blueblood. Rarity will learn of treachery in Canterlot and abroad, and will have search for something of substance beneath the prince's obnoxious veneer as she struggles to not only save herself, but her entire nation.
