Anyone at Crystal Prep who knew Twilight Sparkle would never assume that this shy bookworm with top grades in all subjects could hold something evil within.

Thus, when said bookworm turned into Midnight Sparkle under the influence of the magic she released, everyone present was shocked to see their classmate become a callous and ruthless she-demon.

Nobody could understand: why? Twilight wasn't evil... was she?

Failing to understand the reasons behind that horrific transformation, Rainbooms and Shadowbolts decided to ask the newest CHS student herself about that. Initially reluctant, Twilight agrees, revealing the side of her that no one had suspected to exist...

With that single sentence, a thousand memories came flooding back to Cheerilee. A thousand memories of a thousand terrible dates...

When Fluttershy received her certification as a fog specialist, she only wanted a plausible excuse to write off the expenses associated with her ground-based house on her taxes. Hate is seen as a strong word. A word that rarely ever meets how much someone doesn't like something else or someone else. Usually people just exaggerate it but never truly hate anything or anyone. To hate hardly ever truly happens when you're just a child; you just don't know better.

Now, psychologists have been trying to explain that to Fleur for years. She couldn't possibly hate Twilight Sparkle. She hardly even knows her. But she hates... And her hate is deep rooted and it builds every single day.

Sure, no one likes Twilight at Crystal Prep. Really, who would? But Fleur hates. And her hate goes deep.

Due to slightly contrived circumstances, Maud Pie becomes Equestria's fifth, newest (*cough* best *cough*) alicorn princess. Inducted, she will face the most dangerous, diabolical threat anypony has ever devised:
