She learns new things about herself and gains a new lenses to life. A new lenses that just might be too much to handle for the human unicorn as she begins to understand the error of her ways.

Twilight Sparkle goes to a party at Vinyl Scratch's with her best friends: Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy. Unfortunately for her, she spots her ex among the crowd. So quickly, with her friends nowhere in sight, Twilight stupidly decides to pretend to be dating the nearest person she could find. Who by the way, happens to be a very attractive fiery-haired woman. Now with this mysterious girl gone, Twilight decides to do nothing but to track her down. It would've been easy. If she had got her number...

What happened next? Twilight surely didn't know.

One week after the Fall Formal, Principal Celestia is surprised to learn that a near-catatonic Sunset Shimmer has been calling out for her in the girl's sleep. Sunset has been unresponsive even to professional medical authorities, so what could have prompted her to call out in her sleep for an educator who had only occasionally interacted with her?

It's been a few weeks since the Friendship Games. This world's Twilight Sparkle is struggling to adjust to her new school and her new friends. Sunset sees this, and resolves to help ease Twilight into their group in any way she can.

A late night encounter, a pep talk, and a little bit of whipped cream – all things that seem insignificant on their own – cause Sunset to reflect on how she feels about her new friend and herself. Is she really just trying to be a good friend to Twilight because it's the right thing to do, or do her motives run deeper than even she realizes?

Life's been hard for Sunset ever since the Fall Formal. She's chronically lonely, much of her free time is dedicated to work and studying, and her classmates still don't trust her. Regardless, she's committed to making things right and improving herself one day at a time.

Most of her new friends are trying to make her feel welcome, but everything feels so forced and awkward at first. This is made worse by Rainbow Dash who seems intent on making things difficult for Sunset. Are they just incompatible? Or is there a deeper reason they can't seem to get along?

Sunset Shimmer has been worrying her friends of late. It had started off as her talking around the subject of home. Then outright avoiding it.

It isn't that her friends want to have a sleepover at her place, or have her host a Pinkie Party. They're just worried. Sunset does have somewhere to call home right? A roof over her head and a warm place to sleep?

But along with new experiences, old memories of a burning cold lake threaten to overwhelm her and her fragile new friendship with Applejack.
