This story is a sequel to A simple test from the bureaucracy of Equestria

A divergent sequel to Evilhumour’s “A simple test from the bureaucracy of Equestria” following a different path than “Back to School for Lulu!” Rather than Luna having to undergo 12+ years of institutionalized education, Twilight points out that Luna and Celestia had essentially experienced the equivalent of having been homeschooled, meaning that technically Luna would only need a tutor for a year under the terms of the law as it is written.

Celestia, thinking that this is a wonderful idea (and not wanting to put her sister through the experience of being sent through 12+ years as the oldest remedial student in the history of History itself), seizes on the idea, congratulates Twilight for offering to be Luna’s tutor, and sends Luna to Ponyville to become Twilight Sparkle’s apprentice for the year.

The truth isn't always easy or pleasant. Something Twilight Sparkle has to learn. After she fixed her friends cutie marks with help of the element she has to learn that lesson.

Twilight Sparkle wakes from a coma after being cursed by a stallion she doesn't remember ever meeting. Princess Celestia and Spike have been taking care of her while she was sleeping. But something is wrong, and Twilight’s memories don’t match up with anypony else's.

This is an AU story of my own twisted imagination. Set after “Games Ponies Play” but before “Magical Mystery Cure” timeline wise (sort of, you'll see). So no Alicorn Twilight here. Tagged Twilight and Celestia as they are the main characters, but other characters do appear in the story.

Following a near fatal incident involving her magic, Twilight goes into a deep coma. Her friends continuously visit her in the hospital in hopes of seeing her get better, but each day things worsen for the unicorn. Knowing that their dear friend may not recover, they begin to ponder upon their friendship and what they will do without her there. As time passes, they slowly begin to lose hope and slowly stop visiting their dear friend, who they fear is gone.

Meanwhile, Twilight finds herself in mysterious dark void, which constantly changes. Her mind is haunted by disembodied voices from her hospital room and by two mysterious ponies that she seems strange familiar with. Trying to find out where she is, she traverses the dark void in search of answers. But what she finds isn't what she expected... And it brings upon a terrible realization of where she is and how she got there.

Princess Celestia and her faithful student twilight sparkle goes to her school for gifted unicorns to check out the projects for midterm exams. But something goes terribly wrong and now Celestia stuck as a filly. And now twilight sparkle has to watch over Princess Celestia until the spells reversed. Can this be undone before nightmare moon returns from her thousand year banishment. Or are things going to go differently than Celestia had planned. Find out for yourself

Okay like I place beneath my username on my account. I'm using Dragon natural speaking program to help me out with spelling and such, but it's not a 100% perfect. I got this program just like the end of May this year and in a way I'm still teaching it how what words go with how I pronounce some words always going to make a whole lot of mistakes and mystique one word for another, I'm trying to keep an eye out for them. But I will meant I will miss some like I've been aware about shining being mistaken for singing and I been trying to keep an eye out for it but I'll sometimes miss it if you see it, or any other words that may be that Dragon program miss interpret with me let me know what the word is what it should be spelled as which chapter they are where in these chapters. They are and I'll try to fix them. As soon as I can again IM sorry about this I saw they had a pretty good hold on it, but someone just pointed it out to me that I more than likely and not and night I'd had her complaint about people saying fix my grammar, but somebody has pointed out to me what the main issue with my grammar of the work placement though I double checked on my Word document and did the switchers think where it says takes us on a word and you could switch it. I fixed the shining singing thing and tell me that I did it 17 times without correcting it by mistake, which felt very embarrassing, but it would have been you guard twice as bad if not three times as bad if I didn't write to keep an eye out for it. So let me know and I'll try to fix it. As soon as I can. Thank you for your time. And I hope you enjoy the story.

When Twilight Sparkle had the magical surge that cemented her place as Celestia's student, the amount of power she released not only hatched a baby Dragon, it brought forth something else. Something that shouldn't exist any more.
Something that has Celestia worried.

Twilight Sparkle faced a greater challenge that will test her fate and destiny - Restoring Mane Five's true selves, cutie marks and friendship, as well as stopping Sunset Shimmer and retrieve her crown back from Human Realm. What happens to her if she accomplished her mission? What fate awaits her?

Even the tiniest change can alter the future in ways you can't imagine.

The battle with Lord Tirek did not end the way it was supposed to. The centaur was still sent back to Tartarus as he should have been and Equestria and all of its' ponies were saved, but thanks to one final act of defiance, Twilight vanished without a trace not long afterwards.

One month after her disappearance, Twilight has returned to Equestria, but not in a state anypony was expecting her to. Now they're all filled with questions about what has happened to her, but what tale does she have to share with them? What is she willing and unwilling to tell them?

Can a battered phoenix still rise from the ashes?

After discovering some more of Star Swirl’s unfinished spells, Twilight's curiosity causes her to cast one, in spite of Spike's warnings. To her surprise, the spell doesn’t seem to do anything. Frightened that perhaps she repeated her previous mistake from Magical Mystery Cure, she rushes to Ponyville only to find everything is as it should be. After this, she agrees not to try to fix any more spells and goes to sleep...

Only to wake up in the past.

Using this opportunity, she begins to correct past mistakes. There are some setbacks, but overall Twilight believes she is making the world better.

Yet as she seeks to fix the problems of her past, she will find that sometimes past mistakes are exactly what our future needs.

For those wondering about continuity with events in the show, chronologically, I'd say the events take place just before the episode Filli Vanilli. The basic outline of this story was actually planned out before season 4 began and much of it was written before the end of season 4.
