I'm going to see them all!” Princess Cadence sang as she slipped out of her carriage, prancing along the steps.
“All their interests, I will see them at the Gala! (at the Gala!)
All their crushes, and their darlings
Their true loves big and small!
I'll ensure it all works out forever
Right here at the Gala!”
“All our dreams will come true right here at the Gala, at the Gala!”
“At the Gala (it's amazing!), at the dance ( what now?)
if I don't trip over my own four hooves! ( it could happen!)
here with Cady ( sure you are.), in this setting (your singing sucks!)
a more perfect setting, it can't be beat! (take some lessons!)
And I’ll finally ask her to.....” Shining Armor trailed off into a mutter as he moved out of the carriage after Cadence.
“All our dreams and our hopes from now until hereafter
All that we've been wishing for will happen at the Gala, at the Gala!”
“At the Gala, all the royals
They will meet fair Rarity
They will see I'm just as regal at the Gala! (at the Gala)
I will find him, my Prince Charming
And how gallant he will be
He will treat me like a lady, tonight at the Gala!
This is what we've waited for, to have the best night ever!
Each of us will live our dreams, tonight at the Gala, at the Gala!” Rarity sang out doing much better than Shining Armor did.
“We've seen dreaming, We've seen waiting.” Princess Luna sang out from her balcony overlooking the event.
“..To fly to this gathering of ponies
The noble gits, proletariat
drinking 'rounds and having kicks
perhaps with all these thousands
They'll enjoy our sky of diamonds
Perhaps we will see some respect, right here at the Gala!”
“All we've longed for, all we've dreamed, our happy ever after!
Finally will all come true, right here at the Grand Gala, at the Gala!”
“I am here at the Grand Gala, for it is the best party
But the one thing it was missing was a pony named Pinkie
For I am the best at parties, and I need some pictures for Rahsee!
Ponies playing, ponies dancing, with me at the Grand Gala!” Pinkie Pie bounds around brandishing a camera snapping photos and blinding a few ponies.
“Happiness and laughter at the Gala, at the Gala!”
“At the Gala (at the Gala), with my sister (with her sister)
Is where I'm going to be (she will be) “ Sweetiebelle sang out, her voice squeaking every so often.
We will talk about everything and be all sisterly.(sisterly)
It is going to be so special as she takes time just for me!”
“This will be the best night ever!
Into the Gala we must go, we're ready now, we're all aglow
Into the Gala, let's go in and have the best night ever
Into the Gala, now's the time, we're ready and we look divine”
“Into the Gala, fan new flames” Cadence cadenced.
“Into the Gala, finally ask her.....” Shining muttered.
“Into the Gala, find my prince.” Rarity crooned.
“Prove we're as great as our sister is.”Luna cried.
“To ship!” Cadence Opra'd.
“To ask!” Shining Armor stated.
“To find!” Rarity performed.
“To prove!” Luna called.
“To whoop!” Pinkie Pie whooped.
“To be! Or was it not too be...?” Sweetiebelle pondered.
"Into the Gala, into the Gala!
And we'll have the best night ever!

[ Back at the chariots ]
Granny Smith and Matilda poked their heads out of the carriage that Rarity had rented to take them to the Grand Galloping Gala. Applebloom stuck her head out between them to watch on in awe as every pony else entered the building after a massive sing along.
“What tha hay was that!?” Applebloom gasped.
“Heart song spell. Grabs ponies each year and an pulls um into a song fer tha gala.” Granny smith smirked.” Ah remember when Celly set that up. Was a hoot fer a while.”
“It does seem the Princess still has it going on strong.” Matilda chuckled. “I recall the first time I heard it, I got caught up in it as a background singer.
“That sounds like fun... why didn't you let me go out there?” Applebloom pouted.
“Song a thirty nine.” Granny nodded somberly.
“Oh dear, you were there for that one?” Matilda winced.
“Yep. Was right in tha middle of it. Every one kept singing til tha sun came up. Couldn't talk fer three days and could barely walk, my frogs were killing me so bad. S'why ah ain't too fond of magic like this. Been on tha bad end of it once or twice.”Granny nodded. “Claimed they put up safeguards, but ah don't trust it. Ah'd ah stopped yer little friend, but she's a quick one was right out that carriage with her sister.”
“She got a main part in it though.” Matilda pointed out.” So that was interesting. She'll have a lovely singing voice when she learns to focus her pitch.”
“Ken we head in nao?” Applebloom asked
“Of course, songs over, let's git going, this party ain't gonna start itself. And ain’t no shindig really git started til ah get there!” Granny smith cackled.

Is this a coincidence? I just read another fanfic about S.T.I.C.H.S. (sustained thaumatically ingeminated and compelled heartsong set) just last week, and now I read something similar in another story?

The Celestia planed gala heart song is something i first used years ago[ i can unfortunately say that. ] In Stories in Stone Luna's Royal Guard.

Not all of them, but this one is. Every year it picks six ponies [ or other creatures] either the ones that really want to be there, or the ones who really DON'T want to be there, and sets them up with a urge to sing. It's become tradition. It's why many of the nobles tend to hang around outside hoping to be chosen. Some nobles think it's an honor to be chosen , others figure it;'s for the riff raff and head inside before hoof Hence why there were so many already in the Even despite the line before Celestia.
Oh I just had a delicious thought.
What if, because Shining had a main part in the Heart Spell Song, the song traveled through his magical connection with Rahs to Ponyville causing Twilight, Spike, Rahs, and all of Ponyville to get swept up into the song. But because Shining Armor can't sing everyone else in Ponyville can't sing as well.
To cap it off, everyone keeps singing until the sun comes up. A whole night of an entire singing horribly against their will.
After which two things would probably happen. The first, Twilight teleports herself and Rahs directly to Shining Armor's location, nab him away from whatever he is currently doing, then teleport the three of them back to Ponyville. This way Shining Armor gets both his mandatory singing lessons, and get to experience the pain of being on The Black List as he is barred from using the train to leave Ponyville until he can sing properly. :P
The second, Princess Celestia receives a letter from Spike informing her she has been put on The Black List for her negligence with the Heart Spell Song. The letter then states her punishment will be no candies, no cakes, no sweets in general, and no Sweet Apple Acres anything to either be purchased or consumed for a month. She would scoff at this, and attempt to eat a piece of her breakfast cake, which is replaced by a rock the second she tries to bite it by Pinkie Pie. :P

I like it but the Sparkle Siblings part in this plot has already ended.

Could always write it as an unintended/unknown consequence which is discovered in an epilogue chapter. That way the main story of the episode (and the Gala) proceeds without interruption from the Sparkle Siblings. Come sunup however, all bets are off. :P

I like that idea. It doesn't have to be adressed right this very second, continue on with the story. Just maybe add in a bit at the end, or another epiloge chapter, that when the Ponyvillians go on home, they find the whole town, or just the 3 sparkle siblings, singing.
Tho that makes me wonder. I don't remember if it's already effected Rahs or not, but we've seen hints that Rahs CAN talk normally, but chooses not to. So if he's effected by the Heart Song magic, would he be singing in barks, as is his choice, or will he be forced to sing in 'english' and that the others will hear him actually singing clearly? Cause that will be funny reaction to see
I just had to remind myself, that Blueblood isn't an asshole in this one, he's just waiting to find his long lost love. I'd also forgotten that Spike gave his ticket to Rarity, to get back at her for the whole first meeting thing.
Now I can hardly wait for the next chapter
